We all face a breaking point in life.
Even successful people have faced theirs. Actually, that’s why they became who they are — they didn’t let that moment break them. With courage and focus, they turned a defining moment on their favor.
A breaking point tests you — it’s your chance to realize your true potential. But, first, you have to turn things around. Breaking points make or break us — it depends on you to emerge triumphant. What can survivors who are feeling overwhelmed, depressed and traumatized do to recover, and how can friends and family help?
It's important for survivors to know that they can regain a sense of power over those triggers, and that the most natural response is to push away the triggers. Self-care isn't about turning off those bad feelings, but feeling those feelings so that they can subside naturally. Tune in as myself and Sistar Atarah Yahu discuss living an empowered life after sexual trauma.

Last night I realized I have been shrinking myself, dimming my light and accommodating people for my entire life for so many reasons but one stood out and snatched my ass up.
My name is Terricina L. Jackson however people never knew how to pronounce my name.
I was given the nickname “Terra” to accommodate people who refused to take the time out to learn my name let alone me.
It dawned on me that it sent a very detrimental message to my child self.
I remember knowing exactly where my name fell on the attendance list to prevent people from saying my name incorrect I’d raise my hand and say, “Terra Jackson” because the shame was unbearable.
Hmmmm I can still feel what that felt like.
It made me feel like I had to adjust myself so that other people were okay despite how it made me feel.
Terra was a character created for other people’s approval as a child.
That behavior spilled over into my adulthood.
Last night, I vomited up that yuck literally and figuratively.
Today, I reclaimed my power.
Don’t call me “Terra” my name is Terricina.
Can you relate?
All new podcast this evening at 6pm est.

Tune in this evening for a new episode of “The Sacred Space,” where myself and Craig Samuels embark on a journey of uncovering the secrets that kept our families sick and yours too. We're "Healing Dysfunctional Families." Craig is a life & mental wellness coach, author and speaker. Y'all cannot afford to miss this. Craig has changed my life in one short week. You can grab a copy of his best seller, "My Mother's Guilt, My father's Sin: The Death Of Innocence" available on Amazon.
My Mother's Guilt, My father's Sin: The Death Of Innocence, is a recapitulation of the trials of growing up in an African American environment of dysfunction causing trauma. It is a skillful rendition of a real life situation that is all too common yet seldom discussed.
A picturesque portrayal of a troubled family is what the author has presented while also showcasing a mournfully beautiful pen, accompanied by a powerfully consuming vivid imagery of domestic realism.
Craig Samuels has produced a script that allows the reader to experience hope amid dire circumstances that dimmed but never snuffed out the light of his existence. Aside from the pages being replete with words of wisdom, it is also highly therapeutic and encouraging. You will not be disappointed.
