Running Truly Explained
This podcast helped solve a bunch of issues I had with only one episode! I can’t wait to see what else there is in the other episodes. I would strongly recommend especially for beginners and intermediates.

Great podcast, fix sound balance
Love the quality of the podcast but something needs to be done about the sound. The podcasts’ volume is super low but as soon as an ad plays, it plays at regular volume, which is an issue since the volume needs to be higher to hear the actual content of the podcast.

Off Topic
I came to listen to a podcast about Running, and instead, it’s minutes and minutes of someone talking about their dog and having a breeder. Which is not something I’d ever want to listen to.

No Longer Informative
I loved this show when Coach Elizabeth was the host! I was hopeful that the new hosts would be as interesting and as informative as she was, but unfortunately, the show isn’t even about running anymore. The show focuses more on their political agenda than anything else. I really miss the informative episodes that helped me become a stronger runner!

New guests and open conversations are refreshing
The new hosts are bringing life back into this show! They are already showing that they care for the whole running community with their guests, and aren’t afraid to tackle broader yet sometimes sensitive issues.

Loving the Podcast
Still amazing content and great conversations with the new podcast hosts! Can’t wait for more episodes with them.

Used to be good
Has really gone downhill with change in hosts.

So informative
Have learned so much from every episode! Such realistic advice and the hosts & guests break everything down so clearly! Has helped my running so much

Outcast
Seems to me you need to head toward the center more. Podcast has gone south. Be different not woke. seems to me this podcast would consider me a minority not a individual And I agree with Bkeller01 review

Woke trash now.

Tried to give the new hosts a chance but promoting divides along racial lines is too much. There are plenty of other podcasts about running that are actually about running and don’t push a political agenda.

Love this podcast! And the humans behind it.
Such good, translatable and connectable advice. Humans behind it are amazing people that care about communities, running or otherwise. Seriously the best!

New Hosts Are Terrible
This show was decent with Coach Elizabeth. The new hosts are so bad I can no longer listen to it.

When running goes left
I used to listen to this pod and follow on social media. But they have decided keeping criminals safe is more important than taking predators of women off the street. Plenty of better pods that focus on running instead of parroting CNN.

New hosts unlistenable
Old content was hit or miss. Elisabeth could be long winded but was at least listenable. New hosts are annoying for reasons I can’t articulate and there is tons of echo. Why is Amanda not mic’ed properly? Probably won’t listen anymore. Also why are you posting content about how to make your January goals stick at the very end of the month? 🤦🏻‍♀️

Phenomenal
Legitimately the best podcast I’ve ever listened to. SUPER informative and helpful to my development as a runner, presenting enough science to learn without overwhelming and the right dash of humor and wit to keep engagement. New to this but already such a big fan, thank you for the direction!

Amazing insights
All of the episodes give a wide perspective on the art and science of running. I really loved the most recent episode on when to not run, and I love the idea of what I call intelligent adaptation—the ability to engage with and listen to yourself for the betterment of your running and, more importantly, yourself.

Great Information!
Really great advice around running and nutrition - it helped me totally shift my perspective around running, fueling and responding to my body’s needs - and I’ve seen such great changes. Thank you Elisabeth!

Pretty good
I found this recently and it’s an enjoyable listen. More Q&A would be great. My biggest issues are: Sound issues…main pod is to low volume and then ads blast your speakers. Coach promotion. You might not notice if you don’t binge a few at a time but if you do listen to several in a row it’s just an ad for the coaching industrial complex. I know this bubble hasn’t popped yet but it does get annoying after a while. Weight loss discussions. Every episode that discusses this devolves into a conversation about runners not eating enough. It’s like they (host and guests) are terrified of actually having a discussion that relates to heavier runners. And the season two conversation was a bad look when she talked about never looking like a model or having an elite physique when the host is quite fit by any standard. Still 5 stars.

Why so anti physician?
I love your show so much, but the end of this last episode made me feel so angry. Why does every other healthcare specialty feel the need to denigrate physicians? My husband is a family medicine physician and I watch him work so hard to help his patients be healthy. He refers to nutrition whenever possible, but many of his patients don’t have insurance coverage so that is a luxury not available to them, but he still tries to help. He doesn’t just throw around an “elevator speech” and leave. He has many patients who are obese and it’s NOT okay for them to “love their larger body” because it’s NOT healthy for them! First one knee surgery, then another, then a back surgery. Maybe that trajectory in their lives can be changed, but they probably need someone willing to have the uncomfortable but necessary conversation about how being overweight is harming them in the long term. I am a psychiatrist so I am WELL aware of eating disorders and the dangers surrounding them, but that doesn’t make it okay to just passively watch as someone does damage to their body and joints, not to mention their blood sugar, cholesterol, heart health, etc, just because it is hard to discuss the topic of being overweight. On a side note, we had a lot more nutrition education in medical school than “a couple of hours.” I don’t feel any need to trash nutrition, dietary, or any other healthcare field to make myself somehow feel better about my career and life choices.

Careful with medical/physiological info
I generally like this podcast and think coach Elizabeth shares great training info, especially for newer runners (it can be very basic and redundant for more experienced runners). However, as an internist I am very concerned about the info put out regarding hypo and hypernatremia. She got those 2 wrong and mixed up and I am very worried about runners getting into trouble with the inaccurate info. I would encourage her to stay in her lane and leave medical info to those who are qualified to talk about it. Unfollowing

Wish I could give 5 stars
I wish I could say I love this podcast. The information is great, but it’s hard to pay attention with all the rambling. Nobody finds Coach Elisabeth funny like herself. People listening to this show are runners; we don’t need an explanation on what hypohydration means.

Love this podcast!
Coach Elisabeth is an excellent teacher and the perfect person to learn about running from. As a discerning podcast listener, I find this podcast to be well-produced, featuring great guests. Even when there aren’t guests, it’s still a fantastic listen! I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to know more about all things running.

Good content but can’t hear host
Love the content and the guests are great, but the host is consistently so low volume that I find myself switching to other podcasts halfway through.

Rambling
I’ve tried listening to this podcast a few times but can never make it through an episode. She seems to have a lot of good information but rambles on too long in order to make a point. I know it’s called Running Explained but when you over-explain things it becomes redundant and your message is lost. Just make your point and move along.

Running Treasure Trove
Coach Elisabeth does a great job hosting this podcast. There are episodes on so many different running topics, and I’ve learned so much from her and the guests on her podcast.

A favorite
A TON of great information about training, nutrition for runners, race strategies, and marathoning in general. Thanks for the chance to learn.

The best running podcast I’ve found yet
Episode after episode is great. Even though I’ve been an experienced competitive runner, cyclist, and triathlete for about 3 decades, Elisabeth and her guests refresh or teach me something new almost every episode. All her guests are great, which also makes this podcast a good resource for leads to other great running information sources.
HelmutVonKaiserSchmudt
The practical sensible podcast
Coach Elisabeth has no fear in challenging the muck of running myths and knocking down beliefs that can lead to elitist attitude or thoughts about running that foster unhealthy training practices. Her podcast shifts through the generalizations regarding training, bringing running back to what works best for the individual. Practical, sensible, and improved running economy / performance are hallmarks of her podcasting.

Hard to hear
Great subject matter. Likable host. Just really hard to hear so I have to turn my car or AirPods up as high and possible and try not to get blasted when I switch back over to listening to something else. This has been going on for a long time. I take breaks from this podcast for this reason, come back to it occasionally and it’s still the same issue.

Love it
This is my go-to running podcast! Elisabeth is very knowledgeable and I appreciate her clear delivery and great guests. I have been running for 20+ years, but I've gotten tons of useful nuggets from this podcast. Thank you for the great information. Keep it up!!

Speaks too fast
One of the hosts speaks way too fast with no pauses between words and sentences at all. Doesn't allow the listener time to process the information.

Every runner can benefit from this podcast
I’ve been an athlete for most of my life and a runner since 2010. I look forward to the variety of topics that Elisabeth covers on this podcast. From nutrition to cross training to help with injuries it’s all here. My favorite recent episode is with Dr Whitt talking about prehab vs rehab. As a trainer I’ve been trying for years to get through to some clients about the need to train so we can prevent injuries. I learned so much from this episode not just for my clients but for myself. Thank you Coach Elisabeth! Can’t wait for next Thursday’s episode :)

Love pod - sound quality poor
I love this podcast but the sound is so poor for such a popular show. It’s mostly the sound from Lis’ mic and the intro. I wish this would be fixed - surely I’m not the only one who notices

Great Info, but sound production need work
Love listening to running-related podcasts during my runs. This is one of the top three I listen to regularly and find it really informative. I did give up on listening to this podcasts during runs due to the volume between interviewer and interviewee as well as the podcast audio in general fluctuating too much (got sick of having to fiddle with my headphone volume controls throughout my run.). Other than the audio production issues/quality, this is a really great, informative podcast.

One of the Best
As a new runner, I’ve through a lot of different running podcasts in order to learn but I keep coming back to this one. Topics are interesting and Elizabeth is a great interviewer. Very pleasant to listen to as well.

Recommend to runners of all abilities
Just finished the Chicago Marathon recap.. I ran Chicago in 2021 in the heat and didn’t have my best day.. this episode spoke to me on a bunch of levels.. I too finished and didn’t have my best race, but I’m pretty sure I learned more from that race then my marathons that went perfectly. Elisabeth really captured the vibe of Chicago and it was nice to relisten and reflect on my race last year that I memory holed. Keep up the strong content!

content great, interviewing skills could be improved
It feels like the host’s style is to disparage people who say or do the wrong things in order to share what’s “right” and there’s a way to strike a balance between correcting misinformation and being condescending and judgmental. also she really doesn’t ask her guests questions as much as she should - instead, she states her opinions and waits for her guest speakers to tell her they agree. it’s disappointing because the content is very much needed.
