Look, we all have flaws, and we all do things on a regular basis that is not always in our own best interests. Hopefully, only occasionally, we do things that are going to be detrimental to our mental health, our physical health, our relationships, our financial wellbeing, and many other things that mean a lot to us.
I’m not saying that it’s even possible to get rid of every vice for every person, or that we should even want to. However, we should be able to understand when we are being logical, and when we are falling prey to drifting towards instant gratification.
If this goes completely unchecked, then it can impact us negatively, and ultimately lead to the progression of things like depression, anxiety, ptsd, and more.

Ahren and I recently linked up, and decided to meet up to record a podcast episode together, and I am sure we will do many more in the future.
I highly recommend checking out his content, and I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I did having it.

Today, I ended up just coming on here, and reading some news stories that I found to be interesting to me in some of the local news sources here.
Obviously most of the news out there is trash, but every so often, there is the odd news story that I come across that actually lifts my spirits and brightens my day.
Like any other event in life, any of these can be reflected upon, and learned from to teach us lessons about ourselves, our mental health, and those around us.
The main news story discussed:

So, this month, a few of us are trying to do some daily cold water exposure, and see what kind of results we can drum up in terms of how we feel, and any changes we find in our physical and mental health.
Obviously there are so many people out there who are educated and can tell you scientifically what benefits you can reap from dipping yourself in cold water, whether it’s a cold plunge, or an ice bath.
What I wanted to discuss was MY PERSONAL experience, and some of the benefits it has had on my mindset.

A lot of the time when wanting to improve our mental health or our physical health, we start to make steps and create habits that will make us feel better.
We try things like exercise and workouts, cold plunges, carnivore or vegan diets, fasting, vitamins, sleep changes, and more. However, sometimes they don’t make us feel good immediately.
I wanted to chat today about why that may be.

Everyone wants to give their own advice to everyone else in the world. This video is just another piece of proof.
I want to remind you that everyone has their own bias, and we are all just trying to figure everything out.
It’s important that we take everyone’s opinions with a grain of salt and sometimes figure things out for ourselves.
Try that new hobby, embark on a new business venture.
We are always able to learn from other peoples mistakes, but when it comes to the limits of ourselves, our strength, our discipline, our mental fortitude, we need to try it out for ourselves, and push ourselves.
Who knows, you could be an outlier.

Many people set goals for themselves at this time of year.
New Years Resolutions, and loft goals to improve our mental health, physical health and fitness, our finances, and our relationships.
But we always have to beware of the distractions in life, and what forms they can take.
