Just another update on my restless antics. Been feeling weighed down by fear and anxiousness, but it's possible I could just need to make some cute mugs and silly t-shirts. This is the story of that one time, "I married myself in Vegas." No answers. Just more questions. Thank you guys for listening. Stay cute :p Royalty-Free Music Attributions: Intro: Take It Easy by Bad Snacks Outro: Hanging Out by Bruno E.

Today we’re sitting down with Chi Ndika. Chi is a small business owner and yoga instructor based in Austin, Texas. Chi started her Ice Cream business called Luv Fats Ice Cream after her mother needed more dairy free options in her life. We have a conversation about doing the things you enjoy, what it take to start your own business, and how to lean into uncomfortable positions in yoga and in life. Here are ten things I learned from Chi: Learn how to twerk. In the end it’s your job to figure your shit out. You have to get out to find your community. Show up!! Surround yourself with a good network. You don’t have to conquer your fears to pursue something that is scary. Lean into uncomfortable moments and periods of your life. Breathe bitch. Take a moment to hear yourself think. Don’t follow your friends.

I’m going to answer this question in two parts. The first part will be how to evaluate your worth when applying for jobs or pursuing a job promotion or raise. The second part will be evaluating your value as a person and what that looks like in your relationships. Professional Don’t undervalue yourself. You are worth so much more than you think you are. Understand that the market plays a role (pay scale) Understand the company you want to work for (Glassdoor) Evaluate what you’re making now in comparison to pay scale and Glassdoor The market is a good indicator of what to ask for but understand that companies don’t pay everyone equally. Always ask for way more than your worth. Go to the career and professional development center at whatever college you went to (if you can) Personal life Don’t undervalue yourself. You deserve the fucking world. Put yourself first (within reason). Be your own advocate. Be vocal about your standards. Over the next couple of months, I’m going to be interweaving some really awesome questions/topic ideas I’ve gotten from the community into the show. This week I’m talking about how to know when you should move on from your job. And I added a few action steps at the end if when you do some thinking about your situation you find yourself thinking that you want to start moving forward. I talk about needs, wants, goals, and how we can map those things to our current job. I also talk about writing resumes, updating your portfolio, and reaching out to your network.
