Bill Anthes: From Special Forces Veteran to Therapist
Bill Anthes is a Special Forces Veteran continuing his service as a therapist with a unique approach of using physical fitness to improve mental health. Upon leaving the military to better serve his family, Bill founded BETWEEN THE EARS (BTE) a coaching and experience-based brand that trains physical, mental, and emotional fitness for individuals and teams. In 2020 Bill and his wife, Karianne, launched BTE Fitness, a daily fitness training methodology that connects physical training and mental health through a trauma-informed and nervous system based approach. BTE Fitness has both a brick and mortar training site in NJ and serves clients remotely all around the world.

Welch is the director of the documentary. They discuss the origins of the film and it’s importance is focusing on growth after trauma. Magnus Johnson is the founder of Mission 22. Stacy Pearsall & The Veterans Portrait Project
Stacy L. Pearsall got her start as an Air Force photographer at the age of 17. During her time in service, she traveled to over 41 countries, and attended the Military Photojournalism Program at S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University from which she is a 50 Forward distinguished graduate. During three combat tours, she earned the Bronze Star Medal and Air Force Commendation with Valor for combat actions in Iraq. Though combat disabled and retired from military service, Pearsall has not let her disabilities hold her back. With her service animal America’s VetDogs Charlie by her side, she continues to work worldwide as an independent photographer and is an author, educator, military consultant, BRAVO748 public speaker and founder of the Veterans Portrait Project.

Justin Hall: Operation Rolling for Resilience
Served from 2010 -2019 battled with PTSD TBI and a Heart condition. Dealt with attempted suicide after being told he would not be able to do much of anything anymore. He sought out a therapist, received a "service dog" through Guardian Angels" which gave him purpose and courage. He had become very unhealthy with his weight and walked back into his Jituzu gym where his now head coach is one of his main support systems. Vets have reached out to Justin and others from the gym who were contemplating suicide and were shown the program for Veteran Suicide Awareness as Justin competes in 22 tournaments over the next year. Family and his Coach have given him purpose and he has a brand new baby girl at home!

Leanne Olivia Nieforth -Bomkamp: Service Dogs/PTSD Research
Leanne began her PhD in the OHAIRE Lab in August of 2019. She earned her Master of Science in Communication and her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science at the North Carolina State University. Prior to joining the OHAIRE Lab, her research focused on the human-horse interaction during equine assisted mental health sessions. At Purdue, Leanne is part of the NIH-funded study focusing on the efficacy of service dogs for veterans with PTSD. She has a special interest in the influence of service dogs on family dynamics.
