‘The Reel’ w/ Caylen David

In the first episode of 'The Reel,' Caylen sits down with Ria Vieira to discuss David Fincher's 2007 film Zodiac, the psychological thriller that follows the actual timeline of the Zodiac Killer case files from the San Francisco Bay Area in the late 60s and 70s. 

Caylen sits down with Aarya Patel (W '23) to discuss topics like student entrepreneurship, the future of Greek Life amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, and Penn Student Government. Later, Caylen invites Allegra Greenawalt (C '23), a cast member of Bloomers Comedy, to discuss her career as a performing artist, and what the future of live entertainment will look like after months of shutdown.

Caylen sits down with Michael Warren, VP of Operations for Penn Student Agencies (PSA). The two discuss student entrepreneurship, sociology, and Penn's latest decision to close campus and proceed with a completely virtual Fall semester.

Caylen sits down with Class Board 2023 President, Derek Nhieu. The two discuss Derek's presidential campaign, creative initiatives to unite students at Penn, and the upcoming socially-distant fall semester.  **[Disclaimer]** Today's episode was supposed to additionally feature Michael Warren II, VP of Operations at Penn Student Agencies. Caylen sits down for a conversation with UPenn rising Sophomore Lauren Hollis. The two discuss performing arts in West Philly, virtual learning during spring and summer due to COVID-19, and their thoughts on the Student Campus Compact for Fall 2020.

Caylen talks with two graduates from the Class of 2020. Sam Friskey is a featured senior from 34th Street Magazine's 'Penn 10'  series, Penn's very own version of the "30 Under 30." She discusses how Penn introduced her to what would become her two top passions: environmentalism and theatre. Evan Lee, a former decathlete on Penn's Track & Field team, talks about the legacy that was cut short due to COVID-19, as well as how he's moving forward with his career as an athlete.

In episode 6 of "Early Evenings with Caylen David," I sit down with the President of The Daily Pennsylvanian, Isabella Simonetti. Additionally, I talk to Stephanie Hwang, Incoming Director of Asian-American Pacific-Islander (AAPI) Politics, one of the various political activism groups at the University of Pennsylvania. This episode is officially the fifth episode of Early Evenings, but only the first that has been officially uploaded. This is due to me not being able to record the audio until week five of the WQHS Summer Radio Series. Since there is no one on campus to broadcast these shows from our studio in Philadelphia, they are broadcasted live each week through Discord. With everyone being new to the platform, there were several weeks of working out the logistical issues that many had never encountered, let alone knew how to fix. With that, I apologize for not bringing these edited episodes earlier, but it will have to do. This week's guest is the Social Planning & Events Committee (SPEC) President Fisher Taylor, a rising Senior in the College of Arts & Sciences. Keep listening to hear us talk about the best areas of Philly, event planning in a post--COVID-19, and much more... The recording bot that records the audio of these shows cut out unexpectedly around the 11-minute mark, so I lost about two minutes of audio around there. Apologies for the interruption, but before the audio picks back up, I asked Fisher to consider his experiences with virtual learning this past spring, and to talk about what changes he would make sure are in place as Penn prepares for a full semester of (mostly) virtual learning.
