This particular story, and this particular guest, comes from that time in my life, about 6-7 years ago. I was working as a “campus advocate” for the Zionist Organization of America, Michigan Chapter - and I’d like to point out that I was a contractor and not a full time employee because they didn’t really have a lot of money in their budget for me, and I was paid on the conditions that I would improve the profile of the ZOA from being a hard-right Jewish and Israeli group and help spread the good word about Zionism across college campuses and raise money from younger generations. Hilariously, I made more friends on the “other side” of that debate arena than I did in my own “Jewish community” while in that role.

Part one of my interview with Amer: This is a storytelling podcast where I’ve shared stories from my many lives lived and hats worn, and I’ve had guests on to do the same. This season is focused around guests sharing their experiences and getting their voices out there. I think it’s important for us all as humans to share our stories with one another. My guest this week is, well… I’ll let him introduce himself… but one of the more interesting stories I have from a period of my life that not many people expect to hear about involved an ultra-conservative political fundraising group, a comedian, a guy that supports a group that I was told were terrorists, and an open political discussion and panel event with about 2 or 3 hundred people that weren’t necessarily going to be as receptive to this whole situation I engineered as I was.

This is the second part of the interview I did with John Mac. We discuss our meeting, his ideas for what I could do to change my life, and how he coaches people to get out of the ruts that they're in and get moving on a different path. We discuss how we ourselves were trapped and felt like we needed changes, and how we had to face fears and have shifts in our mindset to accomplish our goals.
