With summer winding down the guys try to stretch it out with two very chill, back porch worthy albums. Afie Jurvanen, A.K.A. Bahamas releases his second album “Barchords” in 2012. Sprinkled with sunshine, the music in this collection rises and falls beautifully while merging pop, soul, blues and folk. Guitar infusion is the name of the game and this intimate Juno nominated record offers the music fan more and more with every spin. Back in 1998, as a gift for her father, Clem, Sarah Harmer recorded “Songs for Clem”. A stellar collection of country and pop standards that her dad favoured, and once friends and family heard it, they convinced her to release it. So in 1999, a wonderful handmade album featuring songs by the likes of Hank Williams, Bill Munroe, and Sonny Burke, to name a few, was released. Musical support came in the form of rain, crickets, wind and cicadas, making a very unique and intimate experience. What, on a hot summer’s day, could compliment the back porch better than a pair of Amsterdam Blonde Lagers. We’ll race you to the hammock!!
