**This episode was recorded before 3/1/2021. The game system used in this episode is no longer being played on current recordings of the podcast.** Hello everyone, settle in, settle in! Well, it always feels bittersweet to reach the end of a semester, but today is our last meeting of this lecture series on The Keepers. I hope you have been filling out your study guides. We last left Virgil and Jacques in the dark and dreary depths of the Chaga Mines following their battle against the Malamar known as the Cunning Serpent. Having rescued all but one of the missing people of Amanita Town, Team Catapult convinced Pandora to allow them to search the remainder of the mine for the last abducted resident. But a sinister power still lurks in the shadows of the cave, a dark passenger carried by the unaware Jacques. Can Virgil guide his beloved companion back to the surface? Will our young initiates find what they’re searching for to complete their mission? And what will be revealed if our heroes once again find themselves in the light of day? Let’s find out in our tale’s conclusion… Final Exam. DM: Jonah M. **This episode was recorded before 3/1/2021. The game system used in this episode is no longer being played on current recordings of the podcast.** Alright class, settle down and make your way to your seats. Today we are continuing our lecture series on the Keepers - we are nearing the end of this semester, and we’ve still got some big events to cover. After leaving the Artisan’s Alley with an array of new clothes and accessories for their Pokémon, Virgil, Jacques, and Pandora are now preparing to find and investigate the home of the Gliscor and Drapion. Hoping to get an answer as to what amplified the violent nature of these dreadful beasts, Team Catapult and chaperone have decided to investigate the rock formation near the destroyed merchant’s cart and the mysterious butte that was revealed through Jacques’ visions. How have these creatures affected the rest of the desert residents? What unexpected encounters may happen as our heroes conduct their investigation? And how scary could a monster lair really be? Kinoko Origins - Ep 16: Artisan's Alley
**This episode was recorded before 3/1/2021. The game system used in this episode is no longer being played on current recordings of the podcast.** Hello everyone, settle in please. We are continuing our lecture series on the Keepers today, following Team Catapult’s dealings the morning after the Showdown at Low Noon. Late in the night, Jacques found himself in his strange dream realm once more, his focus being pulled toward a large formation in the Deathcap Desert - a butte with an odd glow about it. With questions lingering about the origin of the predatory Pokémon, our heroes are set to investigate this mysterious locale. But before that, our young Initiates have decided that it would be best to investigate the local market first, because merchants usually know things. And so we find Virgil and Jacques on the hunt for information, and perhaps trying to procure goods and services along the way. What is this place like in the daytime when there aren’t beasts lurking on the outskirts of town? What clues can Team Catapult pick up from the townsfolk? Is this really just a shopping episode in disguise? Let’s find out in our latest installment… Artisan’s Alley! DM: Jonah M. Kinoko Origins - Ep 15: Real Eyes Realize Real Lies
**This episode was recorded before 3/1/2021. The game system used in this episode is no longer being played on current recordings of the podcast.** Hello class, please take your seats. Today we are resuming our lecture series on the Keepers after the big, climactic events that we discussed last week. We last left Virgil and Jacques in the direct aftermath of their showdown against the Gliscor and Drapion in the middle of Amanita Town. Through careful planning, clever execution, and some timely improvisation, they managed to capture both of the awful beasts. However, the battle has taken its toll, and we find our young initiates battered, bruised, and exhausted. As Team Catapult goes to bandage their wounds and restore their strength, it seems that the people of this desert town can rest easy once again. But questions still remain… what did these creatures really want? Where did they come from? And what has happened to the people who have gone missing? Let’s find out in our latest installment… Real Eyes Realize Real Lies!   DM: Jonah M. We are continuing our lecture series on the Keepers, and today is a big one! We last left Virgil and Jacques making their final preparations for the monsters’ upcoming attack. After getting some key information and just as importantly, a Shard, they settled on a plan to attempt to protect the town and defeat the beasts. As the most thematically appropriate time of night approaches, the moment for our young Initiates to confront the monsters from the desert is almost here. With Chevalier the Eevee let loose to be a distraction while Virgil and Jacques launch their assault and with Pandora nearby for support, Team Catapult is feeling as ready and confident as they’ll ever be. **This episode was recorded before 3/1/2021. Today we are continuing our lecture series on the Keepers as the real twists and turns of our tale approach. If you recall, we last left Virgil and Jacques conducting their investigation of Amanita Town, attempting to discern what awful beasts had been attacking the settlement, what they were after, and the best way to stop them. Whether it was a shocking revelation or a grim reminder, seeing the destruction left behind by the creatures was unsettling to say the least. After doing a large amount of evidence gathering and obtaining answers to some of their most urgent questions, our young Initiates are heading into the next phase of their mission: developing a plan of attack. What last-minute information can Virgil and Jacques get to help them achieve their goal? How will they even attempt to deal with creatures that seem so far out of their league? Kinoko Origins - Ep 12: Amanita Aberrations
Hello class, everyone get to your seats, we’ve got a lot to cover today. We are continuing our lecture series on the Keepers, and things are only going to ramp up from here. Where we last left off, Virgil and Jacques had overcome what felt like the universe itself throwing something that they were incredibly ill-equipped for directly at them in the form of two large, territorial bird Pokémon. Their unlikely victory was a strong reminder of the power of wits and the mind over sheer force, and an important confidence boost leading into the encounter to come. Now that our young Initiates are feeling better about their abilities and Pandora doesn’t feel like she has to babysit them (as much as she did, anyway), our trio of Keepers are making their way into Amanita Town to begin tracking down the beasts threatening the dusty settlement. What do the people of Amanita Town know about the awful creatures? What has happened to the unfortunate souls who have encountered them already? And will Team Catapult get the information they need before the beasts come again? Let’s find out in our latest installment… Amanita Aberrations! DM: Jonah M. Kinoko Origins - Ep 11: Food Chain
Alright everyone, settle in, settle in. Today we are continuing our lecture series on the Keepers. As I’m sure you’ll recall, we last left Virgil and Jacques on the road to Amanita Town with Pandora as their chaperone. She set up a training exercise for them to try their hand at tracking, and the boys took it upon themselves to battle two large and ferocious beasts that they found in the process of attacking each other - a far cry from, well, crying at the thought of sparring with each other. Now that their adrenaline is pumping, Team Catapult has decided to try their luck looking for something bigger and badder to fight. Is this plan as ill-advised as it sounds? Will it pay off for Virgil and Jacques to hit the EXP grind this hard? Or will their hubris be their downfall? Pandora’s on standby in case they royally mess this up, so let’s find out what happens in our latest installment… Food Chain! DM: Jonah M. Kinoko Origins - Ep 10: Ecosystem
Hello everyone, please take a seat. Today we will be continuing our lecture series on the Keepers. Where we last left off, Virgil and Jacques took care of some final business before departing for Amanita Town with Pandora. Because a backpack to put your Slowpoke in is very important. The team hit the road in the Iron Chariot and stopped after a while for a little training session. While Pandora searched the area, the boys decided to do a little wild Pokémon catching, with… varying degrees of success. Now that their crying is nearly at an end, it’s time for some real on-the-job training, getting a lay of the land and encountering something a little more dangerous than small birds. What test has Pandora come up with for our young initiates? Will Virgil and Jacques find themselves in over their heads? And will this test actually help the boys understand more about the world around them? Let’s find out in our latest installment… Ecosystem! DM: Jonah M.
