Week 59 – Saved by faith and not by works
Every religion in the world has one thing in common: each one of them has a list of certain things that you need to do or not do to get to heaven. Some of the things are similar from one religion to the next, and some have completely unique chores, but they all have hoops through which you need to jump if you are to be saved.Every religion has these things… except for Christianity. Christianity is the one religion in the world that says that you can’t make it to heaven on your own. You can’t be good enough to earn God’s love. The only way you are going to walk through those pearly gates is if God’s Son has done it for you The ultimate, Divine, unchanging truth of Scripture is this: only through God-given faith in the Redeemer can you be saved. And there is no place in the Bible where that point is driven home more clearly than in the book of Romans. In its pages we hear over and over again, “The world says ‘Do!’, Christ says ‘Done!!!’”
