The Pivot gets it!
Andy knows how to expertly lead and accompany his guests in conversation . Just like he leads in playing music and accompanying other artists. Thoughtful and funny and he knows how to ask what we wouldn’t know to ask !

Andrew Osenga has a way...
This podcast is exactly what I’ve been needing. Andrew is the perfect host and asks questions of his guests in perfect ways. The Pivot hits me right where I NEED. I recommend this to anyone in any walk of life...for encouragement, for laughter and for tears. David Tevebaugh

I don’t even...
I can’t even remember how I found out Andrew was doing a podcast and had never heard of him until I experienced the legendary “Liturgy...” concert at the Ryman. You start looking for connections when something that good happens to you. He was one of those connections and “the Pivot” makes those same sorts of connections. What a happy tangent.

Great podcast
This podcast is fun and uplifting. I have enjoyed hearing the stories of so many varied people. There is always much to learn from hearing the perspectives of others. I have been a Caedmon’s Call fan for a long time, but didn’t really know much about the members, so it’s been great to get to know Andrew!

Truth and Beauty
Andy Osenga gives others such a beautiful space to tell the truth (through laughter, tears, and everything in between). His sincerity is evident, and his deep friendships with the guests make the show so much sweeter. Thank you for this bright spot.

Go do something awesome!
My new favorite podcast. These stories of people who have made a change will challenge you, inspire you, and make you love life a little more than you did yesterday. With each listen, I am nudged closer to making my own pivot. Keep them coming, Andrew.

Ben Shive...just wow.
This podcast, in general, has been a cherished addition to my listening routine over the past couple years. As a musician, Andrew is a storyteller and artist of unique and inspiring skill. As an interviewer, he takes that same empathetic sensitivity into the conversation setting. Episode 67 with Ben Shive absolutely floored me. It gave me view of the heart and pursuit of two men who seek to honor God and love others through practical and artistic action. I've listened to it twice so far and know I will return to it before long for another time through. Andrew, thank you for the time and effort and excellence you put in on The Pivot. It is deeply appreciated.

You’re Back!
I was so happy to hear your interview with Ben Shive this week. I am so encouraged by hearing others talk about their walk with God. Thank you for taking the time to do this podcast. Looking forward to hearing more podcasts.

Great Podcast!
I love this podcast - not only has it been helpful through my own career pivot, but I get to listen to great stories of peoples lives. Thank you Andy!

Grateful for these stories!
I learned about this podcast from the 2019 BTLOG tour and I *love* it! I am an academic and a scientist and have no connection with the art scene in Nashville & I find these stories of my Brothers and Sisters in Christ who have walked faithfully by Gods grace throughout a myriad of seasons and situations incredibly encouraging. Thank you!

Yes to this!
I am only three episodes in and I’m eager to hear what each of these people has to share. This podcast is deeply moving and inspiring. Keep up the good work, Andrew. We need this beauty.

Great.
I enjoy the little biographies that each episode presents. Andrew is a great interviewer too. Highly recommended.

Cannot Recomend Highly Enough
I listen to every episode and cannot wait for them to come out each week. Andrew does an incredible job of guiding each guest just enough to let their story come out naturally. The stories are all amazing, & perfectly capture how everyone has "pivots" in life.

Inspiring
I love this podcast. Andrew’s guests are honest about their highs and lows and challenge me to really evaluate where I am and what I’m doing with my life. Andrew is a wonderful host. The podcast is a conversation with a host who actually listens and doesn’t just read off a list of questions. I’ve enjoyed every episode. The interview with Ashley Cleveland is a favorite.

So so good!
I am a little late to knowing about this podcast. I heard about it through Andrew's interview on AFD podcast. I quickly subscribed and am trying to binge all of the past episodes. So so good and extremely interesting. I am new HUGE fan.

The Pivot is “Must Listen To”
Andrew O. has offered a great service to humanity by bringing these stories/interviews to us. The guests are varied & interesting. He’s grown much as an interviewer & the podcast has only gotten better! Keep it up. Now go do something great!

Excellent interviews
I have followed Andrew’s music for years This podcast showcases a different aspect of his talent. Andy has a great voice to hear in spoken form as well, but his interview technique is what really shines. He really draws out the guest without taking over the interview. He is so good at showcasing his guests. This is one of the top podcasts I listen too. Keep it up!

My favorite podcast
The concept of the podcast is something I really relate to. Everyone pivots so it brings some of my favorite artists and authors a little closer to home and more relatable than I anticipated. It’s humbling to be able to get a glimpse into these stories. I’ve listened to every podcast and many of them have me shedding a tear because of their vulnerability and honesty. Thank you so much Andrew for being the catalyst to make thus happen. You have a fan for life.

Engaging Host
As the totally unbiased mother-in-law of Andy's most recent guest, I must say he's an engaged, well-prepared, warm-hearted host. I feel like I'm sitting in on a conversation that could have taken place here in my living room. And he brought out the best in JJ, kept her the center of attention while interjecting insightful comments of his own. Well done! I am now a subscriber!

Encouraging and fun
As a Nashville resident, I love listening to this podcast with local leaders and musicians. I know this isn’t “just” for Nashvillians, but it’s fun to hear local landmarks like Ellington Ag Center mentioned. I look forward to listening to every episode! Each one is encouraging, inspirational, and keeps my attention the entire time.

The Pivot is a jewel of a podcast
I look forward to the new release (hopefully!) each week. I’ve learned so much by listening to the stories of the changes Andrew and his guests have made in their lives. I’ve begun to read what some of the guests have written and listened to their music—you’ve widened my experiences, for which I am thankful.

My favorite podcast right now!
I discovered The Pivot recently and am LOVING it. I'm a visual artist, and it's such a great way to start my day. It helps me face a lot of my fears to know that I'm not alone in the twists and turns of life. Super reassuring and helps put the journey in perspective.

Inspiring
Andrew has a great feel for he people he is interviewing, and there is always something insightful or inspiring in the interview. The only downside, is I often come out of the podcast ready to quit my job and "go do something awesome". For a weekly podcast, that means a lot of new jobs.

Loving This Podcast
I've always liked Andrew's music, and now I'm really enjoying this podcast. Lots of great insights from fascinating people. My only issue is that pretty soon I will have listened to all the episodes already! Keep 'em coming.

Conversations worth having
Andy is a wonderful interviewer. Though many of his guests are personal friends, Andy is intentional about making sure that his listeners get to know the whole of the person he is interviewing. I leave each episode learning many pearls of wisdom and often reflect about my story and how my story is being told.

I highly recommend The Pivot
I have been a fan of Andrew Osenga’s guitar playing and songwriting for a long time. As a guitar player he has always exhibited a very musical restraint that colors his (and others’) music by adding mood, texture and a sense that he is listening, not just telling. In the same way, Osenga’s songwriting reveals a man with great insight - not a distant observer, but one who keeps his eyes and ears open as he walks through life. Whether finding the beauty in the mundane slices of life (like in “Early In The Morning” and “Kankakee”) or plumbing the depths of a character in his space opus, “Leonard The Lonely Astronaut”, Osenga reveals the lives of those he writes about and, in doing so, gives us insight into his faith, interests and the way he sees the world. He invites us in. In what seems a total departure for Osenga, he is now in his second season of a podcast called “The Pivot”. Andrew chose the title to reflect the “mission” of the podcast which is to tell the stories of people who have made a change. Although that has often meant career changes, it is a more nuanced look at how people’s lives have evolved as life, opportunities, challenges, etc… have changed their focus, their direction. We all pivot in one way or another. The stories are very particular to their tellers, but the process is familiar to all of us. I’ve found myself taking hope, joy, encouragement and challenge away from each listening. In full disclosure, Andrew is a friend. I have been so pleased at how his listening, observation and love of people has made him a really great interviewer. The first episode or two, it was apparent that Osenga was finding his feet as an interviewer. He is now asking the right questions in the right order to coax the best out of his usually eloquent interviewees. He asks the question and gets out of the way. It is a rare gift that an interviewer stays fully engaged in the interview, but stays out of the other’s story while helping facilitate the telling of it. With so many podcasts available, why should you give “The Pivot” any attention? It is rare that podcasts inform, encourage and inspire. If you are a person of faith, this is a rare and much-needed look at how others have lived out their faith through the changes/challenges life has thrown at them. If you are not a person of faith? I think “The Pivot” speaks to much that is common to all human experience. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Thoughtful and important work
This is beautiful and inspiring. Thanks for putting it out into the world. I have loved every single episode. Such thoughtful and important perspectives on change, growth and calling. This is my very first podcast review... I am a huge fan.

Favorite new podcast of 2017
This is my favorite podcast right now. Not exactly a “religious” pod. I wonder if it’s in the wrong iTunes category? This is for anyone interested in hearing the story of how regular people approach changes in their life. Andrew has a remarkable ability to facilitate the conversation and make it interesting and entertaining. I loved the first season and the second season has started off just as well. Keep up the great work Andrew!

Excellent, Insightful, and Inviting
Listening in on these conversations is amazing. The guests Andy has chosen to interview (or with whom to converse) about pivotal moments in their lives and careers are charming, sincere and I find myself encouraged by every episode and the stories these artists share.

Encouraging and inspiring
I absolutely loved The Pivot from episode 1, and after hearing the whole first “season” now I still love it and will be watching and waiting eagerly for season 2. Andrew does a fantastic job of interviewing people with interesting stories that will encourage and inspire you. Excellent podcast!

Perfect timing
As someone who is in the middle of asking what the next phase is going to look like, I have been deeply encouraged by these conversations. I'm learning that following a particular dream or calling is not always a life-sentence and that it's ok to close a chapter and move to the next season. Not that I've actually decided to end that chapter yet, but knowing that it's ok to consider that option is revolutionary for me. Thanks, Andy and friends for being honest and open.

Great Premise + Fascinating Guests = Awesome Conversations
This is a podcast I genuinely look forward to listening to every time an episode arrives in my feed. Andrew is an excellent interviewer who seems genuinely curious about the stories his guests are sharing and gives them plenty of space to do so while keeping the conversation moving at a helpful pace. Highlights for me were the Bebo Norman and Ellie Holcomb episodes but they are all great.

This became a must-listen podcast for me right away! Besides being a big fan of Andrew and most of his guests, the whole concept is relentlessly encouraging! I made a big change in my life (leaving a full-time job to stay home and take care of our kids) and The Pivot has been so affirming and inspiring to me. Thanks, Andrew, for a truly refreshing idea and an awesome podcast. Looking forward to season two!

So far so good
I am two episodes in, and so far it’s great. The Steve Taylor episode had me on the edge of my seat. Great podcasting.

Such a great theme for a podcast!
I was instantly intrigued when I read that Andy would be doing a podcast all about people who have made a change. It's a great concept and Andy delivers on it! Great guests, interesting stories - an excellent, thought-provoking podcast.

I love hearing the stories from these folks--how their lives progressed in one direction for a long season and then made a subtle-to-significant change.

Kickin' Conversations!
Andrew Osenga is a fantastic interviewer and the topics and conversations are terrific. I'm not sure the tragectory of the show, but it's naturally starting inside the music biz with those who Osenga has worked with. It'll be fun to see this show evolve, and maybe venture outside the music industry too. Loving it so far.

An inspirational roller coaster of emotions!
I never leave reviews, but I absolutely loved the first 3 episodes of The Pivot. I've always been a fan of Andrew's with his work in The Normals and his solo career. Andrew has a very calming, caring and thoughtful vibe throughout all the episodes. An incredibly thoughtful and interested host that lets the guest share from the heart. I found myself laughing, thinking, and sobbing throughout all 3 of the first episodes. I think the concept is great and is so relatable as someone that is a mid 30's male working in my passion but not sure what's next. Each story is unique and shows how we need to be able to be stretched and versatile in our lives. Podcast sound and quality is also top notch!

Interesting and Relevant
I've really enjoyed the first three episodes so far. The stories themselves are interesting and though I don't share the specific life experiences with Andy's guests (namely, musicians) the narritive and decisions that they made to change life circumstances are relevant to anyone. One of my biggest take-aways so far is the perspective of viewing life as fluid and not static. Aside from our relationship with God the Father, nothing is static. Our callings may be for a season. Our careers may be for a season. Friendships may be for a season. Its been great and healthy to come to understand that through Andy and his guests. Keep it up!
