The events at our nation's capital January 6, 2021 arrested our attention with much reason.  Did this happen just because of the election results or is it deeper than that?

As a Black man, I understand the mantra "Black Lives Matter," but I often wonder if all Black lives matter.  Recently, the world lost a beautiful soul in 8-year-old Royta Giles, Jr, the innocent and helpless victim of an utterly senseless shooting inside of Alabama's largest shopping mall.  However, the response to his killing wasn't as passionate as other killings.  Do Black lives really matter?

Is removing Confederate monuments, the banning of flags, or the changing of names effective and/or necessary to move ahead in the war against racism? Is it counterproductive? Let's talk about it.
