The Orangutan Academy
The Orangutan Academy
Hannah Swim-Key
The Orangutan Academy is my active and raw journey through Mammahood and first time homeschooling. I’ve recently stumbled across the concept that it is not my responsibility to mold my children into amazing adult beings. They are born capable of that on their own. It’s my responsibility to remind them to listen to their innate inner voice they so lovingly brought into this world. Here’s my journey, by way of achievements and mistakes, that is aimed toward helping my children construct their unique lives, free from the burden of responsibility for other people’s happiness, including my own.
16. Train or Submarine...because it doesn't really matter
Where did our childlike minds go after we assumed the responsibilities of adulthood? Did we have to make that sacrifice? How can we get it back and if we do get it back could this evolve into a tremendously more perfect way to help our children understand our world?

11. Wildly Colorful Entropy
Entropy by definition is lack of order or predictability. Wildly colorful entropy is the creative space in my mind that allows me to set whimsical goals that are accomplished through the application of art and color. I'm recognizing this same concept within my own children which has in turn allowed me the privilege of witnessing their own products come to life and how this changes their attitude for the better.

7. Wonderful Souls
The definition of a Wonderful Soul in our household has inspired our children's view of death and what death means. I couldn't have imagined this blessing that has allowed this transition of such a complex topic...especially with our toddlers and young children. This topic is not scary and it is not to be avoided or suppressed but simply embraced. This accidentally stumbled upon description of death has not only touched our children's lives but all of those they love in the most beautiful and spiritual ways.
