Rich founded Goldstein Patent Law more than 25 years ago — and has since become a highly sought-after industry leader. He has a natural ability to explain complex legal topics in simple terms. He uses that to educate and empower his clients.
The son of an engineer, Rich learned to appreciate inventions at an early age. He ultimately earned his degree in electrical engineering from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1991. As a patent lawyer, this engineering background gives Rich a competitive edge — allowing him to understand design drafts at a deeper level than most.
Rich pursued a career in patent law, realizing it would give him the opportunity to help others protect and realize their own ideas. He earned his Juris Doctor (JD) degree from Brooklyn Law School. He was admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office in 1993, and before all New York state and local courts in 1995.
At Goldstein Patent Law, Rich has helped thousands of inventors and start-up companies protect their intellectual property (IP). He prides himself on his client-centric approach to legal strategy. This is centered on listening to and understanding clients’ goals and needs.
Notably, the American Bar Association asked Rich to write its consumer guide on obtaining a patent. This sort of endorsement is reserved for the most qualified experts and based on deep vetting.
Beyond patent law, Rich is also an expert in law firm leadership, legal marketing, and business development. As such, he is regularly invited to write and speak to entrepreneurs about IP strategy and other lawyers.
He continues to educate thousands through his seminars, educational videos, podcasts, and best-selling book: “The ABA Consumer Guide to Obtaining a Patent” and has been published many times in Law Practice Magazine and Law Practice Today.

After over a decade of being behind the scenes of several billion-dollar companies, Chris elevated into the elite status of the Top 1% of the sales industry internationally. Being exposed to some prominent entrepreneurs, he learned how to make that next leap into the challenging transition to serial entrepreneurship with brokering over 1.9 billion dollar deals over his tenure of CHRIS ROSS® Companies which he now serves as Chairman.
He is also the creator of 2 Nationally Accredited Sales/ Business programs. In addition, he structured a deal in early 2020 to sell to a trade school corporation that operates in over 60+ online and on-campus locations. They have rebranded and now enroll prospective students across the United States.
Throughout the time it took to negotiate that deal, he launched his podcast show with the sole purpose of how to train admissions staff with over 15-18K employees to adopt his "WIN-WIN Effect" methodology. The first two seasons of his show took the world by storm by producing over a 2+million downloads in his first year across all major platforms. Once the deal went through, Chris felt he couldn't let his viewers down by ending the show, so he decided to make it work without taking away from all of his contracts in the education industry.
