Hey, everyone, welcome back to your weekly jolt of positivity and advice! Thank you so much to everyone that has tuned in and shared last week's episode about The Walt Disney Company layoffs. The downloads absolutely exploded and it's all because of you so thank you so, so much! I hope the message provided some clarity and encouragement to everyone out there struggling right now. This week is a bit of a continuation of that message. Patience...it's a virtue and an art, but it is damn hard at the same time! I have struggle with patience throughout my life and career, and am still a long way away from where I'd like to be. This episode is all about encouraging you to wait for it, even when it may seem like the wrong thing to do. Mastering the Interview
Good day, Movers! As a bit of a follow-up to last week's episode on storytelling, this week I get into how to master your next interview. As always, I am no expert in this, or anything for that matter, but I do have a ton of success in both successful and unsuccessful interview and I want to share that experience with YOU! Thank you for you downloads and support so far! I really appreciate each and everyone of you and your interest in this thing means so much! Don't forget to drop a rating and review in your favorite podcast platform, cheers! Storytelling
What's up, Movers?! We're back with another upbeat, positive jolt to your boring old week! Sorry for missing last week. A minor snafu with a scheduled guest spot got delayed at the last minute before there was time to record a back-up, so my sincerest apologies! With that said, WE ARE BACK! This week I get into the importance of articulating your origin story as a leader, and how critical being a great storyteller is to landing that big promotion, or just in life in general. Storytelling can be so easy (and valuable) once you sit down and figure out your personal story! Thank you as always for all your support, I sure do appreciate YOU! Be sure to share the good word with anyone who will listen, and drop a rating & review wherever you get your pods. Cheers! Opportunity
We've all heard the cliche, "when opportunity knocks..." but do we always open the door? Should we open the door to every opportunity that comes our way? This episode won't give you the answer, but it will definitely help you look at each opportunity that comes your way as just that, an opportunity...to connect, learn, etc. This week I welcome the most special guest, my lovely wife, Christine Joines. She is someone who is well-versed in opportunity, and what it takes to take a leap of faith when one presents itself with equal pros and cons. I hope you enjoy her insight and candor on this episode as much as I did! Thank you as always for your subscriptions, feedback, ratings, and reviews. I appreciate all of you and really enjoy putting this pod together for you. I hope you always get as much out of it as I do putting into it. Cheers! Perspective
Hey, all, just a short one for you this week to keep things fresh and consistent. Full disclosure, I had family in town and fitting in time to record was a challenge but we did it! In this week's episode I dive into a bit of perspective and how a short change of mindset can really change the way we look at everyday tasks and responsibilities. I hope you find it enlightening and helpful as you look at all the things you "get" to do in life. I also talk a bit about our Etsy shop. Be sure to give it a look-see at linktr.ee/theuprootedpod (linktr.ee/theuprootedpod) for all the things we're up to! Cheers! Atychiphobia
Have you ever been scared? Of course you have! We've all experienced fear in our lives at some point. Have you ever failed at something? If you haven't, I sure want to meet you! Of course you have, we've all failed at something. Both of these things are human nature and completely normal. Atychiphobia is both of those things combined...the fear of failure. People deal with this daily, and for many it interferes with their lives so much that they don't even start something because they are scared to fail. In this episode, I talk about this syndrome and share some tips from Psychology Today (https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/smashing-the-brainblocks/201801/how-conquer-fear-failure) on how to overcome it. It's a positive message that I hope you all find beneficial. Thank you so much for your support of this podcast! Your downloads, follows, and comments mean everything to me. Don't forget to pop-in and give a rating or review on your favorite podcast platform, and a follow @themovingaheadpod on Instagram and Facebook. Cheers! Adventures on Dolphin Isle Author, Jakob Joines
This week, my wonderful son and newly published author, Jakob, joins me on the podcast to talk about his new book, Adventures on Dolphin Isle. Of course I'm a little biased here, but I think he is just incredible, and an amazing talent for publishing a book at only 10-years old. We also talk about his favorite inspirational quote and how to keep moving ahead during this time of uncertainty. I think you'll find his insight refreshing, especially considering his age! Thank you so much for your support and downloads, they mean the world to me! Don't forget to follow me on Instagram and Facebook here (https://www.amazon.com/Adventures-Dolphin-Isle/dp/B08DBY32TR/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=jakob+joines&qid=1595985322&sr=8-1). Cheers!
