The sisters are two juvenile bear that I felt an attachment to. They just held a special place in my memories, and I'll always feel some sadness and nostalgia when I think of them.

My friend Ron Pederson told me, "Any day you can walk away from a plane crash is a good day." This is what happened.

Owner and operator of Katmai Guide service, Joe Klutsch. Joe is incredibly distinguished and a well-known name in the industry. His son Joey, is just as interesting and he's just as homegrown and Alaskan bred.

In 1996 I guided my first moose hunt in Blue Violet. My clients were from Europe and we bagged a nice one. Crazy thing is my first guided moose hunt was the nicest moose I ever guided. Not a nicer one since.

Some of the scariest times of my life were in the presence of brown bear. And to this day it chills me when I read up on some of the brown bear horror stories. Still, they are some of my favorite animals on the planet.
