S6E7: Dorz Brown on how to run a business with both head and heart
My guest today is my great friend and fabulous business woman - Doreen - or Dorz Brown. She runs Doreen Brown Consulting - providing accessible Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) services and affordable web design to small business owners and solopreneurs. With programs, challenges, and full consulting options all available - Dorz brings an infectious energy to what can usually be a very data-driven and heavy area of marketing. In this episode we chat about: How she got started in her business with $200 in her bank account and what led her to falling in love with the area of search engine optimisation We talk about how she manages to guard her time religiously and the tricks she uses in her calendar to do this. We talk about the beach ball way of looking at perspective (I'd never heard this analogy before and I love it) How over the years she has learned to listen to her gut instinct so much more. The tricks she uses to recharge and reset How she never wants to have totally fulfilled her life purpose - this is a great reframe on this concept AND - we officially announce our brand new collaboration together - which is going to be incredible - you're going to want to get involved, and you'll be able to tell how we ridiculously excited we both are about it! I get so much of an Inspo-boost and an injection of energy every time I speak with Dorz and I know you're going to too! THE RESET EXPERIENCE On this episodes we also officially launch The Reset Experience - for business owners and solopreneurs who want to re-engage with the head AND the heart of their business - this event is for you - now OFFICIALLY open for you to reserve your spot http://bit.ly/theresetexperience This part virtual retreat, part power workshop experience is only $129 for an entire day of resetting, recharging and re-optimising you and your business after the rollercoaster that has been 2020 so far! S6E2: Michelle Broadbent on how to organise your life by setting boundaries
Do you have find yourself with too much on the to-do list? Like you're drowning in a sea of tasks and errands and projects and it doesn't matter how hard you work - you can never fit it all in? If so, whether you're a business owner or simply someone who wants to build more structure and organisation into your life to reduce that overwhelm - you're going to love this episode. Michelle Broadbent is a business manager and strategist. She is the woman behind the woman - helping female entrepreneurs get organised, back in control and clear on where they're heading so they can transform their business and their lives. Michelle is one of the MOST organised people I know and she is a total productivity machine  - in this episode we talk about: The most common problem that Michelle sees in female entrepreneurs Why planning white space in your calendar is SO important How to manage your calendar around your energy levels so you can still get things done even when you're not really feeling it. And how if you don't have boundaries then you're never going to thrive in business (or in life). This episode is one that is particularly relevant for me too because although I can be a total productivity machine and seem to have this magical ability to cut through the clutter and gets others unstuck and moving forward - something I tend to do very regularly is take too much on and don't leave enough 'white space' as Michelle calls it for those contingency times and overflow. So whether you're a complete hot mess when it comes to getting organised or you're like me and can be a total productivity machine but need to work on those boundaries - this is the ep for you! If you want to find out more about Michelle and how she can help you transform your business or your life, check out her website: https://www.michellebroadbent.com.au/ or follow her on insta: @michbroadbent or Linked in: linkedin.com/in/smallbusinesssupportservice   And if you have a team that you want to get more productive and up those performance levels -> check out the range of team workshops on offer at:  https://www.themomentumarchitects.com/training-for-organisations/ including the productivity power up.

S6:E1 Rebecca McPhee on diets, French cheese and why changing our own behaviour is so damn hard
Welcome back to Season 6 of the Momentum Life Project and for the first episode of the new season I have a very special guest who is a great friend of mine and who is the BEST person I know in getting people to change their behaviour. Rebecca McPhee is a dietitcian, nutritionist, health coach and an expert in behaviour change. We first met a number of years ago when we worked together at the same consultancy and have been friends ever since. Bec has worked as both a private practising dietitian, ran a business called the Cultured Nutritionist and has worked in health services in both Australia and the UK and was the chair of the NSW branch of Nutrition Australia I highly recommend you grab a pen and paper for this episode as you will want to take notes! We're talking about behaviour change - what is it, why it's so damn hard to do and what tips and tricks you can use to make healthy habits stick. We talk about why dieting is the fastest growing indoor sport in Australia. Why French Cheese is never off the menu. We talk about the biggest roadblocks to modifying behaviour. Why sometimes bad behaviours can be hidden under really positive actions. And we talk about why motivation alone simply isn't enough. I have seen first hand the results that Bec gets with her approach and I am so excited to be bringing this episode to you None of us are perfect but if we can understand the motivations and the drivers behind our behaviours then we can really start to live our best lives. You can find Bec on Linked in and for more about her project in the ACT you can jump on their Insta page: Capital Chicks Canberra (and hopefully it will be rolled out further afield very soon!)

But did you know that there is a right and a wrong way to breathe? And if we're doing it wrong, it can actually impact heaps of other areas in your life from soreness to speaking to the composition of your blood! Today's guest is my great friend and all round super woman Julia Urquhart - a Women's Health and Pelvic Floor Physio by trade, Jules also incorporates dry needling, core stability, pilates, mindfulness and the Bradcliff breathing method into her practice. This is an area of science I know very little about but as someone obsessed with performance hacking and getting the most out of life I was keen to understand more and gave Jules full permission to experiment on me (spoiler alert - turns out I am a text book 'bad breather') In this episode we cover: The fact that there IS a right and wrong way to breathe and why it's important The contributing factors to inefficient breathing mechanics which can even include drinking coffee and talking too quickly - two things that I definitely suffer with How we're now starting to suffer not only from sleep apnea but screen apnea and the research coming out around that How our breathing technique affects our blood composition And some quick try at home tests to see how your own breathing technique is stacking up  Find out more about Jules and the work that she does at: Website: calmandconnection.com.au Linked In: linkedin.com/in/julia-berger-15091311b Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/calmandconnection/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/CalmandConnection

Hands up - who likes to live a full and meaningful life? We all do right. So now, hands up who wants to live a life of stress and overwhelm and always feel like there's just too much to do? It's a really fine line isn't it between having a lot on on then feeling like you are slipping into overwhelm. The first can leave us energised, and satisfied with a great sense of accomplishment, of kicking goals and of moving forward. The second, foggy, exhausted, snappy and generally not a great joy to be around. In this episode I tackle this very question which came from a gorgeous listener Megan asking how on earth do you have a lot of with feeling overwhelmed. I LOVE this question because what Megan is really asking is all about productivity, one of my absolute favourite topics and an area I totally geek-out on. I cover: What is overwhelm and how to recognise when we're falling into it Why any kind of stress-reduction is a work in progress And my top 10 tips for getting a lot done but still feeling like you're not totally drowning I absolutely love getting questions from listeners and if you have any topics burning away that you want exploring let me know - either I can talk about it or find and expert in the area! And if you're someone who wants to have a lot on but keep those dreaded stress levels in check - take a look at the Momentum Movement membership community where you'll be a part of a like-minded group all sharing tips, tools and resources to dial back that overwhelm but still live a fulfilled and meaningful life.
