Host Lindsay Aerts is joined by full-time a cardiologist and mother of 3 young children, Dr. Hannah Raasch creator of the free app Babies Help Mommies that helps moms live happier, healthier lives. It tracks “mom calories” burned stroller-pushing, baby-carrying, breastfeeding, and during routine childcare. In other words, you don't have to sign up for an intensive fitness program or download an app that seems daunting showing a mom in a bikini with a 3 month old baby--you can be fit simply being mom and spending time with your children. It also has a library of articles on how babies help mommies specifically, including the maternal benefits of breastfeeding which include lowering risk of heart disease and some cancers. The app has wellness features including medically validated postpartum depression screens with ways to get help when you need it (postpartum depression can effect up to 20% of new moms), sleep trackers with ways to get more and better sleep (don't we all need more of that), nutrition information, mindfulness insights, matriarch remarks (motivational quotes about motherhood), and a fun section called Momoirs (a play on the word memoirs) that allows users to record photo or video baby milestones while the app remembers the data.
