The Millennial Pastor
The Millennial Pastor
Josiah Jones
Welcome to “The Millennial Pastors” where we talk about the intersection between faith and culture, from the millennial perspective. How ministry is done in the 21st century needs evaluating and we're here to share a fresh perspective. Instead of simply going to church, we want to be the church! A Contagiously Optimistic Film-Making Pastor - Ft. Jared Callahan
Goodness... This episode is special. It's special because we had the privilege to hear from our friend Jared. If you don't know him, you will quickly hear how passionate and energetic he is. In fact, due to technical issues, we had to record this episode over phones which allowed Jared to literally run around the farm he lives on while enthusiastically telling us the story of how he ended up living/pastoring there in the first place. You may occasionally be able to tell that we had to resort to this recording method, but we believe that Jared's story more than makes up for audio issues we experienced.   This episode is also very special because the very same day Jared recorded this episode with us he was in a serious accident that sent him to the hospital. With permission from his spouse Sophie, we decided to share his episode in light of this awful event. We hope it's what Jared would want, and we look forward to him hearing it in the near future. While you listen to Jared, would you pray for the long road to recovery that lays before him? Also, if you are hearing of his injury for the first time and want to reach out to encourage the family, please help us limit the noise and chaos of phones and social media accounts by sending your well-wishing to us. We will make sure they receive it in the least invasive way possible.   Enjoy.  Links to what Jared is part of:  www.heirloomeastbay.com  www.peoplepeoplemedia.com  Sophie's (Jared's Partner) Episode --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/josiah-jones/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/josiah-jones/support

New/Ancient Communal Life Gatherings Started Mid-Pandemic - A Covid Conversation w/ Letiah & Brent
Letiah & Brent re-join the podcast to share a little of what they have gone through over this past year. We also talk about how 2020 has shaped the community gatherings they both currently lead. Letiah has leveraged zoom to create a gathering that would not have otherwise been possible. Bent has taken cues from ancient practices to form a gathering that might seem unusual for a millennial to be part of in 2021. Both approaches have differences, but the most important thing they share is a desire to gather with others for the purpose encouraging one another to become more christlike!  Letiah's previous episode: Click here Brent's previous episode: Click Here Letiah's contact info: Email --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/josiah-jones/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/josiah-jones/support

Why Andrew left the Church - A convo with a "none/done"
Andrew lived a fairly regular life. He was brought up going to church, and even pursued ministry as a young adult. Somewhere along the line he got fed up and decided to disengage and stopped going to “church.” He never stopped keeping tabs on what was happening in church circles though, because Andrew is actually the younger brother this shows host, Josiah. Both brothers walked nearly the same path for much of their lives, and ended up in different places. One in ministry, one out, both still doing everything they can to love people well.  --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/josiah-jones/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/josiah-jones/support

Issues Beyond the Pandemic - A Covid Conversation feat. Moose and Will
Will and Moose are on the show to talk about the different ways they have dealt with the Covid restrictions as it pertains to their worship gatherings. Spoiler alert, they took different approaches! Still, they both agree that our churches have had problems left unaddressed long before Covid made them glaringly obvious.  Will's previous episode Moose's previous episode Music Cred: Andrew Jones --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/josiah-jones/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/josiah-jones/support
