It has been an amazingly long time - almost two years - since I’ve recorded one of these podcasts! I am back making them now, but I don’t know what the schedule will be like for new episode releases. As I cobble together enough music, I’ll put out new casts. Furthermore, I am going to make a greater effort to put these up on iTunes. It was denied last time I tried, but I’ll investigate further in the upcoming weeks. Anyways, let’s get to the brutality!
HatesongCrushing HateUnholy ShitBand CampHatesong crush with classic crust-punk/ black metal reminiscent of Darkthrone. Their uncompromising attitude explodes through every song on their 4 song EP, Unholy Shit! If you’re into brutal, satanic shit, Hatesong is for you.Check them out live in Indianapolis at State Street Pub, July 24th 2019
KvlthammerHabitual OathBand Camp8 songs of Midwestern anger fueled by classic Speed Metal, Sabbathian heaviness, and D-Beat. Recorded at Earth Analog in Tolono, IL by Matt Talbott (Hum) & mastered by Dan Randall (Ghoul) at Mammoth Sound.Check them out July 22 2019 at State Street Pub with Black Knife and Crisis Actor
PhobiaInternet Tough GuyGeneration CowardBand CampUndisputed kings of the grindcore underworld, PHOBIA return with a devastating new track titled "Internet Tough Guy," taken from the band's upcoming 7th album Generation Coward. After nearly 30 years of grinding skulls into dust, PHOBIA are still as pissed-off and lethal as ever.Willowtip Records will release Generation Coward August 9 on CD, LP and digital.
SarcófagoDay of the DeadCrustPurchase Four years after the release of their 5th LP, The Worst, in 1996, Sarcófago once again entered the studio. This time, though, to record an EP. With only four tracks and clocking in at a little over 11 minutes, Crust went on to become one of the band’s most extreme and sought after releases. This release would also go on to be the band’s last, as soon after the end of the recordings the band officially disbanded. After many years of never giving in to any musical trend, Sarcófago bowed out leaving one of the most significant legacies in all of extreme metal having influenced a plethora of bands including stalwarts such as Mayhem, Beherit, Darkthrone, and so many more.
PULVERPhanton Hawk KINGS UNDER THE SANDBand CampPulver are a German metal five-piece who batters like classic Tank and dazzles like early Iron Maiden.Just over a year after the release of their well-received self-titled debut EP, Pulver emerge with the Kings Under the Sand full-length, an album loaded with eight taut, memorable, but gritty classic metal cuts.
Vultures VengeanceLord of the KeyThe KnightloreBand CampFrom the Italian underground comes Vultures Vengeance, a heavy epic metal quartet that defends the realm of the obscure on their first full-length album, The Knightlore. The album consists of eight tracks of diverse and challenging epic metal. Vultures Vengeance (who are rounded out by co-lead guitarist Tony L.A. and new drummer Matt Serafini) have not only captured the spirit found on their first two EPs, they have expanded upon it. The album’s eight songs provide the band the perfect platform to showcase their penchant for storytelling and sterling songcraft.
LvcifyreDeath’s Head in CrownSacramentBand CampThe UK’s LVCIFYRE have re-emerged with Sacrament, a 23-minute extended-play offering of cacophonous and wretched death metal savagery. Where relentless and violent death metal riffing meets chaotic and claustrophobic atmosphere, Sacrament is a delve into the corner of death metal fringe that many fear to explore.
HELLGOATWarmarch AnthemDeath Conquers AllBand CampBoris Records is excited to announce the reissue of 2011's Death Conquers All from Atlanta Black Metal Horde HELLGOAT.With a half dozen years having passed since the release of Hellgoat’s first full-length album, Blasphemy from Serpent Tongues in 2005, Death Conquers All was motivated by the same infernal zeal as its predecessor.
SkelatorSeven ScarsCyber MetalBand CampVeteran west coast metallers SKELATOR has signed with Gates Of Hell Records for the release of their fifth studio album, “Cyber Metal.”Formed in 1998, SKELATOR has capably flown the flag of never-say-die true metal, harnessing Jason Conde-Houston’s stratospheric vocal range, dueling guitar harmonies and battle-tested rhythms.
Pestis InferosBeyond the VeilBand Camp Brace yourselves for the ferocious debut EP from USBM trio PESTIS INFEROS. Beyond the Veil of Light contains five furious statements of blasphemous intent. The approach is relentless, the atmosphere fetid, and the attitude fueled by the fires below. PESTIS INFEROS give new meaning to "scorched earth," as the audio violence on the band's debut EP is intended to leaving a lasting, albeit scarred, impression on those listeners brave enough to withstand the onslaught. No fixes, no edits. Pure fury and pain.

Spectral VoiceEroded Corridors of UnbeingDark Descent Recods13 October 2017After no less than five demos/rehearsals and two splits, Colorado's SPECTRAL VOICE are finally crossing the Styx and delivering their first proper full-length...and it is gigantic. While things appear quite straight-forward on paper (the band has never hidden their love of roughly mixing early and down tuned Finnish death metal with extreme doom in an acid bath) there's something quite unique about them. Instead of weakening their impact, their rawness and vast sound only emphasizes their genuine thirst for darkness.Like a lurker oozing with evil intentions, SPECTRAL VOICE like to remain in the shadows. There, they've patiently learned from their elders, only to regurgitate their own brand of extreme death/doom. For instance, 'Visions of Psychic Dismemberment' is an eleven-minute long trip into the darkest regions of our collective mind, where UNHOLY's trippiest moments join INCANTATION for a dance around the fire. The opening blast beat sequence in 'Lurking Gloom' on the top of bleak arpeggios will fire up most DISEMBOWELMENT freaks.Far more than just a sum of its parts, Eroded Coridors of Unbeing is a unique and claustrophobic voyage, cavernous yet full of clarity. Here, SPECTRAL VOICE is the sound of one's soul going further down the abyss...and they're taking you with them.Dark Descent Records will release Eroded Corridors of Unbeing on CD, vinyl, cassette and digital formats on October 13.www.facebook.com/Necroticdoomwww.darkdescentrecords.com darkdescentrecords.bandcamp.comwww.facebook.com/DarkDescentRecords
NOSTOCÆVUMSelf-Release7 August 2017Costa Rican Extreme Prog Metallers NOSTOC will self-release their stunning debut album ÆVUM on August 7. One spin of ÆVUM and you'll be floored at the realization that this is NOSTOC's first full-length album, as the musical dynamics and musicians recalls band's that have spent years honing their craft. Blasting extremity meets progressive composition and melodic sensibility, packaged in a way that is cohesive, penetrating, and utterly unforgettable.https://nostocband.bandcamp.com/track/transmutehttps://www.facebook.com/Nostoc.Band/
Psy:codeMØRKEPavement Entertainment4 August 2017 Copenhagen-based modern hardcore group Psy:code has teamed with Pavement Entertainment for the release of MØRKE. Psy:code is a band driven by a desire to reach beyond its own boundaries. The band’s first two releases, Delusion and Cause and Neglect, were met with critical acclaim by critics worldwide. The praise was not met with complacency and Psy:code set the bar higher when writing their third album. MØRKE is a natural progression, while remaining grounded in the roots planted by its predecessors. Over the years Psy:code has supported several major acts, including Slayer, Mastodon, Amon Amarth, Trivium, Gorefest, Illdisposed and Artillery. The band has toured extensively in their native Denmark and throughout Europe. Psy:code has a series of videos planned in the months following the release of MØRKE. Tour dates in support of the album will be announced soon. Facebook.com/psycodedkpavementmusic.com
I KlatusNagual Sun Self-Release 13 October 2017Chicago Doom/Sludge eclectics I KLATUS will release Nagual SunOctober 13 on digital and analog (cassette) formats. The highly anticipated follow-up to 2012’s Kether is the band’s third full-length album (and fifth release overall). The overall sound of Nagual Sunmaintains the gritty roots for which I KLATUS is known, while at the same time launches the group into new and more fully fleshed-out dimensions of weirdness.Tom Denney is the primary soothsayer behind I KLATUS. Denney, whose background is steeped in the visual arts, has provided artwork and monsters for a laundry list of signed metal acts in the community (KYLESA, BLACK COBRA, SAMOTHRACE, CANNIBAL CORPSE, CEPHALIC CARNAGE and RWAKE just to name a few). His guitar squalls hard against the shores of this stoner metal effort, but also manages to rise above the storm in melodic hymns. Denney trades growling vocals with bass player, John E. Bomher, Jr. (BURY THE MACHINES, YAKUZA), who keeps things grinding nicely, while also providing some sweeter tones when they let songs open up and sweep across more ethereal planes. Bomher doubles as the band’s producer with his extensive experience in the studio; his work on the album sets this release head and shoulders above their previous efforts in terms of production quality. The drums are championed by Chris Wozniak (LAIR OF THE MINOTAUR, EARTHEN GRAVE, SERPENT CROWN) who metes out doom in guttural timing. Wozniak just pounds and pounds, hitting that sonic-pocket, which gives the stoner/doom genre its feeling of lift and expansiveness. Some noises and textures by former member, Robert Bauwens, are also tucked into the nooks and crannies of these tracks.Order: https://iklatus.bandcamp.com/album/nagual-sun

IntegralResilienceGhastly Music5 May 2017Italian Death Metal band INTEGRAL has a sound that can be summarized as the merging point of melodic death metal riffing, brutal blast beats, harsh vocal lines, deathcore groovy breakdowns, and mellow fusion openings. That is exactly what one gets from the 10 tracks on the band’s debut album Resilience, along with introspective and inner conflict-based lyrics. Mixed and mastered by Ettore Rigotti (Destrage, Disarmonia Mundi, Babymetal…), the album also features Steffen Kummerer from OBSCURA and Tommy Talamanca from SADIST.A recommended choice for fans of THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, BEYOND CREATION, THE FACELESS, GOROD, and technical death metal in general.www.facebook.com/integralbandofficialhttps://integralband.bandcamp.com/releases
NecrovorousPlains of Decay Dark Descent Records 29 September 2017Greece's own rotten Death Metal savages NECROVOROUS are set to release Plains of Decay September 29 on Dark Descent Records. A vinyl LP version of the album is also in the works.Known for their undying adoration for everything sleazy, macabre and genuinely disturbing, the NECROVOROUS ghouls have risen from their crypt after years of hibernation and are staring at you with bloodshot eyes while brandishing scepters made of human bones. The world's best attempts to keep from waken the beast have failed miserably. Proceed with cauthon, as the death metal equivalent of Jörg Buttgereit flick “Plains of Decay” is coming to melt with your brain. To avoid fainting, keep on repeating …”It’s only a record… It’s only a record… It’s only a record…”https://darkdescentrecords.bandcamp.com/album/plains-of-decayhttps://www.facebook.com/necrovorous/

Welcome to the all new, moderately improved Metal Mortuary. This is the very first edition of the reboot podcast that I'll be assembling and releasing on some form of schedule. What that schedule is, I can't say yet, but there will be one. Anyways, it's October, which is perfect for some Death and Black Metal. Check it out, download the podcast and share it with your friends. Most importantly, go support these bands. More than any other thing I do on this site, this is for the creators. The little amount of work I might do putting this together PALES in comparison to those creating the content and busting their asses to make the most underappreciated and most maligned music out there. Support Metal. Support the community. Buy a record.
