The Lum Podcast
The Lum Podcast
Intricate Dialect
The Lum is a mix of storytelling, poetry, and music about different subjects. Told in ways with hidden meanings and occult references over original music and samples with the same subject themes. Curated by Intricate Dialect, Sun Hammer, and Jah Connery. This is podcast art. These are people who talk in code and have lodge meetings. Grew up listening to Hip Hop and meeting interesting people who might have ties to the 'luminati. Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thelumpodcast/support
Foxes Have Holes ( and birds have nests )
idski is trying self help.  Through thick paraphrasing of one bible quote that isn't related at all to the subject, idski walks an audio path to finding a certain part of himself that is overlooked ( by himself ) in hopes that it can become the thing that can save his soul.  This episode was produced, freestyled, and written by miles "idski" lindsey and it was was barely mixed and recorded on his ipad with vocals from the earbud mic. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thelumpodcast/support

She Can't Say 'I'm Sorry'
We all deal with or have dealt with people that seem to avoid accountability.  To error or mislead someone is human nature, but to avoid saying "I'm sorry", to deny that uncomfortable acknowledgement can cause more pain than necessary.  Forgiveness is the almighty solution, but 'TRUE forgiveness' as Denise Matthews points out in this episode is 'the hardest thing in the world' and 'nearly impossible without Jesus'. May we right our wrongs with people that are willing, and let us Make Sure The People We Know Are People That Grow. This episode was entirely produced, recorded, and barely mixed with my phone and ear bud mic. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thelumpodcast/support

Sincerely, Jimmy Scott ( A tribute to Jazz legend Jimmy Scott )
For some artists, they get popular quickly.  Maybe it's their location, the "it" factor, inside connections.  For some other artists, it takes them years of hard work and dedication.  Through the discipline, they are able to carve out a niche for themselves and might get popular through that.  Some artists never make it.  Some get close then something thwarts it. Jimmy Scott aka Little Jimmy Scott was a jazz vocalist like no other.  From his phrasing to his ability to put so much emotion into his voice, Jimmy was recognized by anyone whose seen him that he was special.  Held back from a bad deal at Savoy Records, Jimmy Scott's attempts to record and play live hit obstacle after obstacle for decades.  After a performance at a funeral for his friend Doc Pomus, Jimmy Scott was able to get a new deal and gained popularity in his late 70's. This 'Lum podcast is about the ones that don't make it, barely make it, should have made it, and sometimes beyond all odds sometimes do...even if it takes forever. feel free to reach me at [email protected] or IG intricate dialect made by intricate dialect and mixed by Timo 1-2 --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thelumpodcast/support

The Book of Denise
This piece is a tribute to the late, Great Denise Matthews formerly known as Vanity in the 1980's.  Denise had a rough childhood.  She also was thrown into the entertainment industry at a fairly early age.  She rose to fame as the front singer in Prince's protege group, Vanity 6 and kept her career going in some Hollywood movies.  After nearly dying from a drug overdose in 1994, Denise Matthews devoted herself to God and became a Pastor.  Her transformation was pure and passionate.  In a rough time in my own life, I listened to sermons from Ms. Matthews and was so moved by her devotion, wisdom, and growth, that I had to share what I learned through this episode.   Denise tells her own story mostly in this episode.  The samples are mostly PRN and gospel to go along with the topic.  It was produced by me ( idski/intricate dialect/Miles L. ) in Hamtramck and mixed and mastered by Timo 1-2 in Cairo. The Lum ep 21 It Was A Beautiful Day When My Baby Was Born
On July 18th, Azra Amun was born. It was a beautiful day. This episode of The Lum Podcast entails pieces of my emotions during this time. From the labor to my hopes and anxieties of being a new parent. To be honest, there is so much to process that I was unsure how this episode would turn out. Anyway, it is here. Jah Connery contributed the intro which is of his new daughter Vivian's birth. Timo 1-2 has a beat on this as well. Sun Hammer mixed and mastered the episode beautifully, and I did the rest. If you'd like to support The Lum Podcast, please go to Anchor.fm/thelumpodcast and contribute some fiat currency. Your contribution will be recognized and I personally will reach out and maybe even send you a thank you gift i.e. rare songs, vinyl, a shout out. It depends on your contribution Please rate and review The Lum Podcast wherever. We'd like to do a live show soon but it depends on where the highest concentration of listeners are so please let me know. Yours truly and long live Azra, Intricate Dialect --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thelumpodcast/support

The Lum Ep 20 SeducEdebussy aka Clair De Lum
Part One of an expose on Claude Debussy. Imagine we find ourselves at the turn of the 20th century in france. The streets are talking about a composer whose reputation in music and women are both equally crazy. The dissonance, the way he would drop B flat and E major, and did you know he left his wife for one of his side chicks who got pregnant around the same time the wife attempted suicide because the heartache from her estranged husband was too savage? Who was this guy? They used to talk smack about him behind his back. He was flawed, even selfish. His innovations changed western music forever. His music was in Ren & Stimpy and Fantasia, 'nuff said. ...And Again, there will be a Part 2 This Lum Podcast episode stars Intricate Dialect, Jah Connery, Timo 1-2, Sun Hammer, and Marine Pellegrini. Ghost appearance by Leonard Bernstein. All music samples are versions of Clair De Lune Rate, Review, and Spread Love Via Apple Podcasts, Sticher, and SoundCloud.
