In solidarity for my over worked American Government workers, I undertook a Furlough, but I did it a full 2 months before the American Budget crisis and without any care for American budget concerns. But the furlough is over, I am back and raring to go with a nice conversation I recorded with the very funny and multi-talented JP Fournier who, at the time of the recording, had just finished up a very successful run at the Edmonton Fringe, which we talk about amongst the normal rambling I do.

Super Comedy Fan Carla and I sit down over a steak and discuss the recent decision from British Columbia regarding the actions of Guy Earle all the way back in 2007 during an Open Mic. Guy was raised up by the media as evidence of the erosion of freedom of speech, and comics used him as an example of how comics should be allowed to say whatever they want on stage.
We read the decision, and discuss how the media has lied to us; and how reading the case, rather than the media coverage o

The topic of Joke thievery has popped up on the national media stage recently, so Dan Taylor and I talk about what the differences are between theft of ideas in the comedic versus evangelical versus academic communities. As well some local tales of joke theft are discussed and I ponder on why I won't walk away from one of the jokes I was recently accused of stealing. I'll let you in on the reason now: it has to do with the credibility of the accuser mostly.

In this second part of my discussion with Scott Belford we take the time to talk about what Scott won't miss about the Edmonton comedy scene, some of the error we see people make when it comes to social media, how being a douchebag can come back to haunt you; and Scott gives some shout outs as he exits the scene. Oh yeah, I mention names and tell some tales too.

In a return to regular podcasting following my prolonged bout of laryngitis I could not be more happy to break the fast with Scott Belford, who is moving on to Toronto. Scott and I talked for close to 2 hours, so I am breaking this podcast into two parts which can be roughly described as 1) The Scotch Segment and 2) The Cigar Segment.
In this, the Scotch Segment, we chat about infidelity and a man's ability to forgive, my backyard and the Hot Tub that started it all, as well as my current fe

For comedy nerds, the phrase "Texas Outlaw Comics" brings images of some of the greatest talents to grace stages in the past 30 years. I have the pleasure of sitting down with a member of that famous group, Steven Juliano Moore, and he shares stories of Sam Kinison, Bill Hicks, touring, travelling and living over 30 years as a comic.

I am joined by Edmonton's Jordon Chyzowski who just returned from Los Angeles where he only begrudgingly admits to meeting with success in breaking in to a scene everyone wants to (and a few comics here falsely claim to).
