If Jesse doesn’t look like Chumlee
I’ll eat my hat.
It’s a pretty good liturgy show. Very exhaustive and the hosts provide a great deal of background.
They don’t “pope-splain,” but I feel like they’re almost naively optimistic about the Mass following Vatican II and some of the things that drip from the current pontiff’s (Francis) pen.
They always give the most orthodox read, but they sometimes gloss over the heterodox read of liturgical documents: I understand wanting to remain positive, but sometimes it’s a stretch.
The banter is good. The puns are silly. The content is 👍👍

Great podcast to learn about the Holy Liturgy
Great podcast. Covers the historical and little known details about the Holy Liturgy

overall great, best podcast intro, sometimes too narrow.
I love this podcast and all the hosts! The intro song is my absolute favorite podcast intro. I learn a ton from every episode. However, my one point of concern is the hosts seem to be getting a bit narrower over time. I think they can occasionally forget to not require uniformity where diversity is permitted, and can make it seem like their opinions are the only or best opinion. This never happened in their early years, but I’ve noticed a trend recently. Adopting a bit more of an apostolic mind would be a great area of growth for the hosts!

Helped me to fall in love with the Mass
I have been Catholic since my Baptism as a baby and have gone through waves of my personal Faith as any other person would. But even at those high times, attempting to be a devout Catholic, the Mass has always been a struggle because I was never taught what the Liturgy meant, symbolized, and revealed (I was even an altar server for much of my childhood). However, with this podcast, I not only feel sufficiently catechized on the Liturgy and it’s related topics, but I find myself re-Evangelized with its beauty and I am left with a sense of wonder. I have fallen in love with the Mass because I can better understand why we do what we do as Catholics (Sacramental theology) and how the Liturgy reveals God’s Love for us in deeper and more profound ways than I would have ever known before listening.

It’s ok
I have been listening to this podcast for a few years. Rating it is difficult. The content is great - thorough, well researched, well explained. However, the personalities are difficult. For me, much of listening to a podcast is enjoying the personalities of the hosts. I can’t say I enjoy these hosts. It’s a mix of dull, annoying, and prideful.I feel that we can discuss orthodoxy in the Church without putting others down. It’s seems this has become a more common theme in this podcast lately, and I don’t like it. There is enough division in our church, we don’t need to hear it constantly reinforced by those trying to spread the truth. My advice - listen to it occasionally. Stick with Edward Sri and Word on Fire the rest of the time

Liturgy Will Save the World
A wonderful podcast, from which I have learned & continue to learn much about the appropriate worship of God, except for their liturgical quiz episodes, which are triumphs of iniquity & prevarication.

A refreshing view of the Mass
These guys are intelligent, fun, and interesting. I’ve listened to every podcast at least once and the consistent theme is to look at the documents the Church provides before you get frustrated by a weird liturgy. They’ll answer your questions about very specific actions at Mass and the broad philosophical or theological ideas that we’ve inherited about liturgy. Highly recommended.

A Dozen Does and Don’ts
I’ve listened to a couple of your podcasts and have liked them. But... dog poop on pie crust?! I think you could have stopped with salt and garlic and such... I don’t think dog poop belongs in a discussion about liturgy.

Engaging exploration of liturgucal issues
I really enjoy the style and content of this podcast. Thanks so much and keep up the great work!

It was Pachamama
Even P. Francis called it Pachamama. It had more than the appearance of a Pagan Goddess it was AN IDOL of a pagan Goddess.
And beyond that the Italian Bishops posted on their website a prayer to Pachamama.
Syncretism, pure and simple. This Coffee Talk Episode was Cowardly.
"We don't have enough info..."
Freaking Francis by his own admission, brought an Idol into St. Peter's to be Worshipped.
Booo!

Necessary for Catholics and the Curious
Whether you are a serious Catholic looking to deepen your understanding of the most important practice of your faith (the Mass), a sometime Catholic who wants to understand why Mass is so important and how to get the most from it, or a non-Catholic who is curious about what is going on, the Liturgy Guys is necessary and engaging listening. As a cradle Catholic, I have learned more about the Mass and liturgical practice from 50 episodes of the Liturgy Guys than from 12+ years of Catholic schooling.

Agnostics Also Need to Listen to This Podcast
Despite being an agnostic, I felt great sadness as the Cathedral of Notre Dame was burning down and felt terrible for humanity in general and Catholics in particular as this geat monument representing the heights of human achievement neared destruction. I was later relieved to hear that the Crown of Thorns, many of the other religious relics and much of the stained glass and artwork appeared to have survived, as these provide Catholics a conduit to connect with and experience the Divine. Society as it exists today is so polarized as to make it almost impossible for agnostics and believers to carry on menaingful dialogs about life, truth, suffering, compassion, what it is to be human, the nature of reality and so on. The Liturgy Guys are to be applauded for providing everyone access to the deeper meanings found within the Liturgy whereby the faithful can utilize its full potential to realize their faith more profoundly, while those looking in from afar are able to gain a fuller understanding of what drives true believers to seek a life in service to God. Thank you.

Don’t be me.
A few months back I was getting into Catholic podcasts and in my research I stumbled across Liturgy Guys. An entire podcast just on liturgy? How boring. No thanks. AND I DIDN’T EVEN TRY IT.
A couple months later BY THE GRACE OF GOD, I stumbled across it again and I gave it a try and I’ve basically been listening to a podcast a day trying to catch up to all the GOODNESS. These guys are hysterical, relevant and are just teaching how great our church is. It’s practical, I’m constantly learning things AND it also goes super deep. All of it is pure gold.

The Liturgy Guys are amazing!
If you are a Catholic (or even non-Catholic) who has ever wondered why the Mass is the way it is, why music or art are the way they are, why the church building looks the way it looks, or if you’ve ever wondered why we say or do certain things, then this podcast is for you. Jesse (the host, who also plays the part of class clown, everyday Catholic guy, and flunky), Chris, and Denis do a great job of combining history, doctrine, Church documents, philosophy, common sense, and humor in a way that is interesting and informative without being too heady. Listening to this podcast will give you a deeper appreciation for the beauty of the Mass and Catholicism in general. It might also give you a deeper appreciation for puns and leave you hungry for pie crust. Listen and you’ll understand...😎

These guys are reason to have the podcast app
I only began listening to podcasts to hear these guys, and they're the reason I keep opening the app up. I've found a few others I like too, but the liturgy guys are the reason I keep listening... I want to be a liturgy guy too!

I love the show!
Growing up I was always bored during mass. Admittedly, I would be be bored or distracted up until I found this show. I have a whole new appreciation for the Mass because of the show. Please keep up the great work guys!

Lovely podcast!
Wanna know why your Church does what it does the way it does? Wanna know why Catholics have so many seemingly bizarre practices when they worship? Here's your one stop shop for everything liturgical, presented in an accessible and entertaining format!
I legit love this podcast because as a recent convert, I didn't get the privilege of growing up with the liturgy, so I've got a bit of a steep learning curve. But I even hear cradle Catholics expressing surprise or amazement to learn how rich and multifaceted and sacred the liturgy of the Church really is.
Long story short, you gotta check these guys out. A+ content, A+ delivery.

Orthodoxy
This podcast covers aspects of the Church in a faithful and authentic way without being critical or preachy. It gets into questions that people have about the liturgy and things they may not even be aware of around them. I highly recommend starting with the 1st and working your way through them in order because they do build on each other, pulling you ever deeper into the Mystery.

Good conversations about liturgy
Chris Carstens and Dr. Denis McNamara unpack dense liturgical theology, while host Jesse Weiler keeps things light and asks questions the listener might have.

Really Interesting!
It turns out the Catholic Liturgy is intertesting after all! But like most things, it just needed the right teacher to explain it!

Good stuff!

So much to learn!
If you're Catholic or Catholic-curious or even Catholic-angry, this is such a useful discussion site. I've been going to Mass for 42 years and I've only just scratched the surface of what it all really means. I love that there are people reaching out to explain and educate, and frankly inspire us regular folk.

Best
This podcast is excellent. I've used references from it multiple times in my Confirmation class, and I know that it will continue. The three hosts approach Liturgy in such a faithful way, seeking a closer relationship with the object of our worship, it's encouraging to a young Catholic waiting for the renewal of the Liturgy to finally kick into high gear. I love these guys and they have helped me appreciate the Mass that much more. God bless!

Refreshingly Catholic!
In my opinion, Catholic-themed podcasts feature by far the most intelligent podcasters and guests in the world of podcasting. Well, The Liturgy Guys are the cream of a very select crop and are the most intelligent Catholic podcasters I've listened to since The SaintCast stopped recording new episodes. Fascinating
A rollicking podcast that is evangelical and liturgical! I really liked the episode on the liturgical year and how it draws us into the Mystery of Christ. So practicable in our life and family!

Great Podcast!
Great Podcast. Very helpful in understanding eternal realities, theoretical principles and thus really helps one ponder how Christ, in and through His Church, pastor us.
So thankful for this. Please keep producing. (Also, please keep explicating everything, as this is Immensely helpful for not only Catholics but also non-Catholics. Lastly, love the etymological stuff.)
God bless y'all!
