We are back after another prolonged break with our longest (and possibly best) episode yet! We are joined by our good friend Jeff in discussing the Metal Gear series as a whole, as well as its enigmatic and oft-heralded creator Hideo Kojima. We explore not only a brief history of the series, but also our favorite moments, what makes it so unique, and why we consider Kojima an "auteur" of the gaming world.   This is the first episode that we haven't tried to properly equalize all the audio. The editing work was becoming too long to be worth it on such a long episode, but the audio quality should still be perfectly listenable. We hope you still enjoy it!

Our long hiatus is over and we've finally gotten around to releasing an episode we recorded weeks and weeks ago! Video gaming has come a long way in its storytelling capacity since its inception - but has it caught up to other media forms yet? It's an exciting day to finally have an episode where we discuss a game that we are all actively playing together. It's been quite some time since we all dove into a competitive game with one another, but we've done just that with OVERWATCH. In this episode, we give you our first impressions, our favorite characters thus far, and some hopes we have for the future of the game. Overwatch players, unite!

We here on the podcast all fell in love with the MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) genre during the early days of Defense of the Ancients (or DotA) on Warcraft 3. What began as a diversion from more "serious" games has quickly turned into one of the most popular genres in all of gaming that commands big time cash and notoriety at tournaments. On this episode, we speak with guests Andrew and Mike about our early days playing MOBAs and what sets them apart at a casual and professional level from other games.

Coming off of an episode where we discussed a game with serious nostalgic value, we are coming back this week with another game with similar personal attachment for VERY different reasons. The time has come. Final Fantasy 7, a game that needs no introduction, is a personal favorite of ours and was always one of the first games we wanted to spotlight. We take a look at how we first heard about the game, what makes its legacy so significant, and how it still influences JRPGs and gaming at large today.
