In the fourth installment of Lady & The Champs former Utah safety Justin Taplin-Ross talks about his journey finding himself. After a tough childhood Taplin-Ross unexpectedly found a home in Salt Lake City, Utah playing for the Utes. A brief stint with the Dallas Cowboys later, Taplin-Ross came back to SLC to give back to the community teaching fitness and kickboxing in an affordable and safe environment for working mothers. Taplin-Ross has also found success in a new sport making waves in the local MMA community. The first-ever episode of The Lady and the Champs podcast features guest Beau Rydalch – a former walk-on with the University of Utah basketball team. Rydalch discusses with host Michelle Bodkin recognizing his mental health struggles and learning to work with them to live a more fulfilling life. After a suicide scare earlier in the year in the middle of the Utes’ season, Rydalch has set out to be more open about his own struggles with the hopes it will help others in similar situations. Rydalch is currently working on his own podcast: ‘Beyond the Surface.’ His podcast is set to launch on September 8th, in honor of the first day of Mental Health Awareness week.
