I loved recording this episode, so listen in to learn more about Kera, what she knows for sure, and how she has overcome the obstacles in her life by ‘Just handling it’. A Lesson on "My Top Ten ... So Far": The Concepts I live By
In this episode, you will learn:The top ten lessons that I’ve learned … so farWhat I chose to be my #1 lesson by farWhat “we eat on the level of our vision” meansEach of us, whether we’re aware of it or not, have a set of principles, beliefs or lessons that we choose to live by each and every day. I am very aware of what mine are, and they are constantly evolving as I dedicate a large portion of my life to personal growth. In honor of our tenth episode of The La Jolla Local, I pulled together my current top ten lessons that have supported me the most … so far. The reason I emphasize ‘so far’ is because they change on the daily, and although these concepts are truly aligned with who I am, they can be challenging to always abide by. If only we could live what we know 100% of the time, am I right? I guess then we would have it all figured out and this journey would come to an end 😊. Listen in to hear my break down of all these concepts and my hope is that you find a nugget of wisdom that resonates and supports you. Enjoy!

From The La Jolla Local: A Lesson on “Quitting is Not an Option”, an Interview with George Hauer
Recorded under previous podcast name and theme, The La Jolla Local In this episode, you will learn:The journey George shares that lead to the successful life he leads todayHis thoughts on why quitting is not an optionThat every journey has it's obstaclesOn the latest episode of the La Jolla local, I had the opportunity to interview George Hauer, who is best known for George’s on the Cove. This is one of my absolute favorite restaurants because it is three-tiered, and feels special no matter if you’re going for dinner or just drinks!A bit more on George, he has lived in La Jolla since 1978, making him as about as local as it comes. Beyond co-founding the amazing restaurant that we know and love today; George is a founding board member of The La Jolla Community Foundation whose mission is to encourage civic engagement and pride through local philanthropy. He has a passion for supporting the La Jolla community overall which he has done so in various ways over the past few decades, often through his own personal funding. One thing I’ll say about George is that he has a happy, fully present demeanor, which you don’t generally find from an owner of a restaurant as they're generally trying to do a zillion things at once. Setting the stage for the interview, I was sitting facing their lovely ocean view from the California Modern bottom level restaurant while Frank Sinatra played at the most appropriate level. Even interviewing him was an experience! Listen in to hear about how George got his start in the industry, the twists and turns along the way, and why for him, quitting is just not an option.

I almost created this so that I can listen to it the next time I personally need the reminder. What brings us joy? How do we find that for ourselves? Take a listen to hear why I think finding joy can be challenging, how to overcome it, and the benefits of putting yourself first.

From The La Jolla Local: A Lesson on “It's Never Too Late”, an Interview with Dr. Tracy Taddey
Recorded under previous podcast name and theme, The La Jolla LocalIn this episode, you will learn: What lead Tracey to switch up her path after achieving what she 'thought' she had wantedWhat she knows for sureHer take on why "it's never too late"On this episode, we interview Dr. Tracy Taddey, D.D.S. and the owner of the La Jolla Dentist off Prospect Street in the La Jolla Village, which just celebrated 45 years in business. Following in the footsteps of her grandfather and father, Dr. Taddey obtained her B.A. from New York University, and is a third-generation dentist. She began her career at Elle Magazine in New York City as a Beauty and Fashion Editor, researching health issues for articles, and it was there where she realized she wasn’t on the right path. Instead of sticking with a career and life that wasn’t fulfilling to her, she took a chance and left it all behind to pursue Dental School and a path that she knew was more aligned with who she was . Today, Dr. Taddey is honored to be voted BEST DENTIST for 2019 in La Jolla Light Readers Poll and for many past years she has  consistently been voted among The Best Dentists in La Jolla in both The La Jolla Light, and the La Jolla Village News newspaper reader polls. She is also a member of several local and national dental societies including the American Dental Association and the California Dental Association, and is an Alumni Board member of University of the Pacific Dental School. She volunteers her time at schools educating children on dental health and participates in community health projects providing care for children in need. She runs competitively and enjoys participating in Half Marathons and Marathons, including The Boston Marathon 2019.I really enjoyed getting to know Dr. Tracy, as she is warm, inviting, and a very genuine person. Listen to hear her journey on the path to success, and why “It’s Never Too Late”. Enjoy!

A Lesson on "There is No There": Enjoy Life, Right Now
In this episode, you will learn:How to enjoy the present moment now, and not wait until you get 'there'How to question why you have the goals you haveWays in which you can recognize if you're waiting for 'there'This past week, after sharing with a friend that I have a goal of purchasing a home in the next year or so, he then asked me, "why do you want to buy a house?" I shared a few things that came to mind such as being able to host friends and family, hang Holiday lights and an American Flag on my front door. It then occurred to me that the 'why' behind my goal of achieving buying a house had nothing to do with my 'why' of being. My 'why' of being is to connect, share love and kindness while I inspire others to live their best lives. So ... why am I so focused on this goal of buying a house that it's making me miss the present moment? This idea that once I have 'X', things will be different. I think a lot of us live our lives this way, and it makes us miss the precious time we have each day. Listen in to hear more about how to live for today and not for the 'there' that may never come.
