Step 6: Receive & Step 7: Give Thanks/Testify
John 16:23-24 Jesus is talking to his disciples and he says “Very truly I tell you, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and you will have abundant joy.” The verse doesn’t just say ask and you will receive, Jesus purposely added “AND YOU WILL HAVE ABUNDANT JOY!” Find reasons to be joyful in your waiting and watch what God begins to do in your life. Mark 11:22-26 says: “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘go throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes what they say will happen it will be done for them. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer believe that you have received it and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them so that your father in heaven may forgive you your sins.” In this verse Jesus is calling us to believe we have already received what we are asking God for without a doubt. I think the biggest key to this though is the last two verses 25 -26 about forgiveness because I believe Jesus is saying to us, we are not ready to receive our blessings if we’re not ready to let go of the unforgiveness in our hearts. We must first forgive if we expect to be forgiven. Let us pray for miracles, BELIEVE AND RECEIVE them! God is still on the throne and he still loves showing up to show us He is still the God of miracles. We just have to ASK AND BELIEVE! Do you have a hard time finding reasons to thank God when times get hard? 1st Thessalonians 5:16-18 says “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, and give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God, Christ in you.” So even in the hard times we must find reasons to give thanks. I’m gonna go into a little story time here because this story helped me gain a whole new perspective after hearing this Holocaust survivor tell her readers what she gave thanks for while she was in the concentration camp. She said during the time that she was in-prisoned she gave thanks to God for fleas in there crowded prison room. Corrie Ten Boom and her sister Betsy were in-prisoned during the holocaust and the 1st Thessalonians verse I quoted was the verse that God used to speak to them during the hardest time of their lives. They managed to sneak a Bible in with them when they were captured and when they were we encountered with this unimaginable situation they remembered it says give thanks in ALL circumstances, not just the pleasant ones. So after praying and giving thanks to God they began to see God’s work in their lives. With the Bible they managed to keep with them they begin sharing the gospel with fellow prisoners. After a few weeks past the sisters were able to understand why God gave them the fleas.. The supervisor mentioned in passing that they would not dare into the room because of the fleas. So the fleas saved their lives because many times people would be abused by the guards but in this case the fleas caused them to be left alone and in that time they were able to share the gospel. So many lives were saved because they give thanks to God even for the fleas. This story can be found in the book called “The Hiding Place” written by the Holocaust survivor Corrie Ten Boom. If that doesn’t inspire you I don’t know what will! Ask God to use the hard times in your life to bring him glory. He will turn your tests into testimonies. Give thanks even when it’s hard and you don’t understand because God always has a plan and he will never leave you or forsake you. Testify to someone of God’s goodness today and share how his amazing love has changed your life. Drop your testimonies in the comments because I love hearing/reading them! God is good in every moment we just have to choose to see the light. ✨ --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/kaylee-borboa/support

Bonus Example + Step 5: Believe
Even Jesus was familiar with the idea of asking our father in heaven. When he was in the garden the night before he died on the cross the Jesus cried out “Abba, Father, everything is possible for you. Please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.” This can be Found in Mark 14:36  He was asking God to take away the sin and suffering of the world some other way. But then he ends with “your will be done, not mine.” He submits to our father despite the hardship he knows he is about to endure. In this moment I believe God reminds Jesus what is going to happen and why it is so important. The pain of betrayal, and the physical pain Jesus was enduring was so great on the cross he cried out “my god my god why have you forsaken me?” From verse Matthew 27:46  In this moment I believe God answered him with something like: “remember the promises in my word, that I will never leave you or forsake you. I never have and I never will. I am here with you now as I have always been. My son it’s only a short time now until you will be clothed in majesty once again and rightfully seated on the throne. Not by your will but by mine.” The significance of Jesus calling out and asking our father if he had forsaken him is because even if he believed our father was near, maybe he just didn’t feel it. And sometimes as believers we KNOW God is there but we just don’t feel it. If even Jesus had this struggle it’s no wonder some people feel abandoned and alone despite their deep rooted faith. Sometimes we wonder, why me, why now God? Maybe what you are going through isn’t just about you. Jesus’ death was about every person on earth that is here now and even every single person who died before him. Jesus went to the cross to die not to gain anything of his own but to lose it all for us in the name of LOVE. Have you struggled with who or what to believe in? Believing in people and the lies of this world is not ultimately what’s going to grant you the gift of eternal life — believing in Jesus is the one and only thing that will lead you to heaven. John 3:16 through 18 says: “for God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son that whoever believes in him shall not Parrish but have eternal life. For God did not send his son into the world to condemn it but to save the world through him. whoever believes in him is not condemned but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of gods one and only son.” If you are going to believe in anyone today let it be our Savior Jesus Christ! he will never let you down. If you are struggling with what to believe here is this song that you can put on to remind yourself: “We Believe” by the Newsboys. All that matters is what God says about you. He says: “you are loved; you are a child of God. You belong to the kingdom of heaven and I Have set a place at my table for you.” Friends today and EVERY DAY, I invite you to take a seat at God’s table and experience the true love of our Heavenly Father. Believe: that God is in heaven on the throne Believe: Jesus Christ is the son of God who lived on earth and he’s in heaven now, seated at the right hand of our father awaiting his return. Believe: our God is the God who is faithful and he keeps his promises Believe: when you seek him first, everything else will be added Believe: when you pray God hears you and he is working it all out for your good Believe: he is the one and only, true living God Believe: not In the people in the lies of this world, but in our Savior Jesus. Believe: There is power in his name! --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/kaylee-borboa/support

Step 3: Ask & Step 4: Listen
Sometimes God’s answer is not the one that we are expecting or it’s not in our preferred timing. But it’s always in his PERFECT timing by his will. In Matthew 7:7-11 Jesus is teaching his disciples and listeners that it is important for us to ask our father in heaven to supply our needs. He says: “Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking and you will find. Keep on knocking in the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, The door will be opened. You parents – if your children ask for a loaf of bread do you give them a stone instead? Or if they ask for a fish do you give them a snake? Of course not! So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly father give good gifts to those who seek him.” So why does Jesus say this but then sometimes we feel like our ask goes unanswered? 🤷‍♀️ So then what SHOULD we ask for? Instead of begging God to change our situation, how about we ask God to give us patience, strength or wisdom to help us through it? Ask him to turn your struggles in to strengths. Ask him to reveal to you his plan for your life! ✨ Listening to God’s commands can be challenging at times but he will always keep his promises. God’s plan is always better than ours and when we submit to God he becomes a real treasure. In the the book of Job, chapter 22 verses 21-25 talk about this very thing. It says: “Submit to God, and you will have peace; then things will go well for you. Listen to his instructions, and store them in your heart. If you return to the Almighty, you will be restored— so clean up your life. If you give up your lust for money and throw your precious gold into the river, the Almighty himself will be your treasure. He will be your precious silver!” Will you make God your treasure today? He will be all you ever need. 💜 --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/kaylee-borboa/support

Step 1: Seek & Step 2: Pray
Step 1: Seek  In Matthew 6:33  Jesus is teaching about money and possessions and he says:  â€œSeek the kingdom of God above all else and live righteously and you will have everything you need. So Don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries today’s trouble is enough for today.” I encourage you to up your Bible (or the Bible app on your phone) and read a passage. When you’re done reading, pray to God and ask him for wisdom and understanding to help reveal what he is trying to say to you in through the passage of scripture you were brought to read. Step 2: Pray  Matthew 6:9-13 is the perfect prayer template if you don’t really know where to start when it comes to prayer. “Pray then like this: our father in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.” So if you haven’t seen the chosen yet and you wanna know more about it I will gladly post more info! 7 Steps
1. Seek 2. Pray 3. Ask 4. Listen 5. Believe 6. Receive  7. Testify/give thanks  So that’s the long answer but the short answer can be condensed in the following verse from 1st Thessalonians 5:16-22 “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not treat prophecies with contempt but test them all; hold on to what is good, reject every kind of evil.” Stay tuned to my next episodes to hear how to begin each of the 7 steps!  Thanks for listening! Bright & Salty
You become the salt & the light of the world when you use your personal testimony to spread the love of Jesus to the world. Your unique flavor of salt a.k.a. “your personal testimony” can be used to share the light of the world which is: Jesus love for us.  His love for you is a testimony in itself you can begin by sharing that! He loves you so much that he was willing to come down from heaven to earth to live and die as a man so that we could each personally be washed clean of all of our sins. Sharing your testimony can be hard because nobody wants to reveal their shortcomings but there is so much power in doing this! You become a new by realizing that you are more than your past. You can help someone who may be struggling with some thing similar because you can be an example to them that there is more and that they can also have a hope and a future. It doesn’t have to be something huge but when you share your testimony it becomes even more powerful. God gives us glory where our shame used to be. Matthew 5:13 through 16 says: “You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost it’s taste how shall It’s saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under peoples feet. You are the light of the world, a city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others so that they may see your good works and give glory to your father who is in heaven.” --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/kaylee-borboa/support

How to Love
John 13:34-35 says “So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.” So this means by loving God FIRST, we are then called to love one another as he has loved us and use our own life testimonies to share the gospel.  --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/kaylee-borboa/support
