R: That “As Above So Below”, as within so without. Your world is a reflection of your internal perception. You know, rain clouds can either be gloomy or they can be fun. M: Exactly, yes. That’s exactly right. All of it’s good. All feelings are good feelings. The general desire is to have more good feelings. The preference is to feel good. R: If you could choose between feeling bad and feeling good, why would you feel bad? M: Yeah, you wouldn’t choose it. R: So it’s like when you remember that you can choose to feel good, ‘cause you’ve slipped into feeling bad, because circumstances, life, having techniques to get yourself to a more Good Feeling Place quicker- M: is a good thing, yeah. It’s a good thing. I think a lot of people, and I can sometimes get stuck in that bad feeling place. Like, it becomes vortexy. It can be easy to hang out there for a long time or sometimes it’s hard to catch a branch, but having awareness of the tools. It makes you that much stronger to pull yourself out of that, just by knowing that and practicing them. For me, having practiced techniques for feeling good on purpose over the years has definitely transformed the way I experience each moment, and I have to say, something about COVID also deepened me. Where it, like, snapped all my practices and beliefs into place a little harder, and I’m like, “I know what to do.” And now more than ever it’s time to live that way. I’ve been really appreciating... appreciating that about these times, I guess, and also what it has done is had me dive deeper into wanting to give everybody these techniques so that we can all have it and all thrive and all feel good. Because it’s so fun to feel good together. R: It is. M: Yeah, and a huge part of that is interacting with each other, having tools for not only feeling good within ourselves, but bringing kindness to connected community. And I think that this is gonna be especially a time where we see a huge burst in cultivating wise, peaceful human connection. Really exciting. R: That’s one of the things with COVID that I'm really grateful for, is that the people who are not out working right now, which is a lot of people, who are inside get that time to actually go inward and look at themselves and say, “how am I feeling the majority of the time and how do I want to be feeling? And what's that gap like, and how can I slowly get myself to a more Good Feeling place?”

Episode 26: Embody
How do I embody my highest self? What does that even mean? Enjoy this episode recorded in mid-February. New episodes posted weekly. Check out our website thejoychannel.org and visit our blog! And Instagram and Facebook @joychannelpodcast Welcome to season 2, I’m so excited for all the magic season 2 is bringing. We have so many interviews lined up to talk to people about ways in which they are bringing forth more love and joy into the world and exciting companies and wellness practitioners of all sorts. So it’s gonna be really juicy, and I’m just so excited. Today we’re going to talk about embodiment. What does it mean to embody- what are you embodying, is the first question. When I was meditating a couple months ago the word that came to me for 2020 was “embody”. To me that means embodying my highest self, embodying all the love and joy and creativity, bringing that forth into my being, and walking those steps forward with that perspective and knowing, being aligned with love and clarity, listening to my intuition, making the decisions and taking the actions that align with highest good and love. So this means listening to your Yesses and Nos. That when you honor your yesses and nos, your intuition gets so much stronger, because when you feel something in your body, when you feel it and you know that it’s a yes and you say no to it, or you know that somethings a no and you say yes to it, you’re confusing yourself, you’re confusing the universe, you’re confusing everyone with what your intentions are, and what you actually want. Make sure that your actions are in alignment with what you say that you want, what you know that you want .Knowing that you are already that person, you’re already capable of making those decisions, it’s just simply a matter of dropping whatever stories that you have that are holding you back from being that person. So maybe you think that by saying “yes” to things when you don’t want to it’s because you’re being kind to someone else, but when you say “no”, it allows them to find their “yes”- their “yes” that’s actually in alignment. You’re not helping anyone when you are acting from a misaligned vantage point. So get your handy-dandy notebook when you feel called, and journal about it. What does embodiment mean to you? What does it mean to be aligned with that higher self? What does this person think? What does this person feel? What does this person do? And know that you’re already that person, you are already capable of doing and being and feeling and thinking all those things. It’s simply a matter of keeping yourself on target with it. Keeping yourself focused. And that’s why we have our practice of meditating in the mornings and at night and whenever you feel called to recenter. That’s why we focus on our breath, to pull ourselves in and realign. That’s why we listen to our joy and our love and our emotions and heed what they are telling us. But let’s say you have a lot of fear coming up, a lot of anxiety. That’s not something to be pushed away or bottled down. That’s something that you get to look at. That’s your guidance system letting you know that something is misaligned. And isn’t that wonderful that our bodies do that? If you want to embody your highest self, listen to what your body is telling you right now. Are you holding tension in your shoulders? Are you breathing up and down instead of out? Are you really taking full breaths that fill your lungs to their capacity down to the diaphragm, out, expanding. Think of your embodied highest self. What is this self grateful for? Grateful for all the love and joy the alignment, grateful for making the decisions that are ultimately for your highest good.

Episode 25: Shifting into a New Year: 2020 Vision with Anielle Reid
Welcome to the Season 1 finale of the Joy Channel Podcast! Our guest today is Anielle Reid of the Magick and Mediums podcast. In this episode we talk about intentionality, shadow work, utilizing your calendar, and so much more. (16:18)R: What things have you started doing in 2019 that you're going to carry into 2020, and maybe what are some things that you have decided you're letting go of? A: So, the things that I definitely feel work for me harcore is women’s circle, women's ritual woman's space. I've been solitary for so long, and you can even see that with my own podcast, like the first couple of episodes were just solo episodes because I didn’t have anybody to interview or anything, I was just all by myself. But there’s such a magick when you go outside of your own circle and open yourself up to be in a space with other women or even men, and you can see yourself in other people that, you know, come into your space. So, definitely doing ritual with other women, being heard and seen and listening to other people in ritual, in space, sharing dreams and allowing space for them is so so transformative. And I mean, even in the yogic sciences they say that there's so much growth in doing mantra, in doing practice in a group with other people, versus just doing it by yourself. (18:18) Of course, journaling. I've always been a big fan of calendar magic. Just putting like something on a calendar 10 days from now to have another client or have $200, I forget about it, and then three days before that it’s happened. Doing a dry erase calendar, or like a BOJO, you know really cute calendar. There's so many different productivity, fun calendars. I mean, spelling is a spell, so allow yourself to do that ritual, write down what you're grateful for. That’s something I started, with a certain journals they have those “three things you're grateful for” -you write it in in the morning, or at night. Just look at your day and then you realize that maybe you wrote something down that you thought was important that you wanted to do and then as you started living you realized that's not so important or “Why would I even have written that?” Allow yourself to move too with Life by writing for things down and seeing how that resonates, how it doesn't resonate, how it supports you, how it doesn’t. So, definitely when it comes to things that I will let go of.. I think is a really, really good question. I think I've learned in 2019 that things don't have to be the way that you would think they would go. I think, as they say the universe is such a better creative than you could ever be, so just put out the feeling. I think that's why it's so important to put out the feeling and not the actual, like, person or the actual job, because you know… For me I realized there’s so much joy in what I already have, and because I was wasting, not wasting but, you could say wasting time, spelling for something different, but I didn't realize that I had everything that I wanted already, it just looked a little different and I had to expand my perspective, so know that sometimes things will shift in your favor and it doesn't mean that the whole world is shifting and then you’ve teleported yourself to Mars. It’s just… you’re the Alchemist and you’ve turn lead into gold, and you’re realizing that what you had was really gold, your perspective just changed. So, 2020 is just, things don't have to be the way that you thought they would be, because they're better. Episode 24: Fairy Fizzies with Karen Kay
This episode's guest is Karen Kay, The Fairy Lady! Purveyor of fairy oracle decks, founder of the Cornwall Fairy Festival, and generator of Joy! R: So, Karen would you like to tell everyone what you do? You have this beautiful Fairy Festival you put on in England, and you have your oracle cards, and your magazines. I'm just really excited to talk to you about that and about that Big Fairy Energy. K: Basically, fairies have been with me all of my life, since I was a little girl and it was quite a natural thing and I didn't know they were fairies at the beginning, it was just this beautiful energy that I was connecting with and I would see them as flashes of sparkling lights, just small lights… I used to spend a lot of time in my grandmother's garden and she loved flowers and roses and I just remember the rose petals would fall down and I would gather them up and add water and make what I believed was perfume, it was rose water actually, and I would leave it out for the flower fairies and every morning when I would check the next day, it would be gone, it had evaporated, or as I believed was taken away by the fairies. So that was my first kind of innocent connection with them. When we’re young children we don’t really have egos that are fully developed and so I wasn't thinking “Well, do fairies actually exist?” Or it wasn't even a question, it was just something that was happening, and it was really beautiful and it just has evolved over my life and they've never gone away. There was a point in my teenage years where I tried to focus on teenagery type things but the fairies were just always there, even then. And as I kinda grew older I’ve started a fairy festival, and fairy balls and fairy faires, and a fae magazine, and now I’ve just released my new oracle cards that i’m so happy about because they’re in the world now, and all that wonderful fizzy fairy energy is flying all over the world. Somebody from Tokyo messaged me saying that they've got them and they love them, and people in America, and Australia, just all over the world. It's like “Wow!” It's my first deck, so it is like my little fairy baby just gone flying out into the world with all this beautiful energy. And I’m so happy and feel so blessed actually, it is such joy. R: I love how you describe it “fizzy energy.” I always think of fairy energy as like champagne bubbles. K: Yes! I always say that. I usually say, when people ask me to describe it, it’s like popping open a bottle of champagne and that beautiful fizzy, bubbly energy, so I call it “the fairy fizzies.” It’s a very vibrant uplifting energy. R: It’s tickly, joyful, playful, pretty lights. K: It’s just so uplifting and wonderful and it’s such a blessing to be connecting with that energy, and I think we really need it in the world right now. We really, really need it. Soem upliftment is always welcome, I feel. R: Yes, definitely, definitely. Bringing the joy, the beautiful vibrant energy is so, so well received now, because there a such a need for it, and shifting to that focus and that perspective is what we love to do here on the Joy Channel... So, how have you noticed your life becoming more playful since you’ve reconnected with the fairies in your adult life? K: Okay, that's that's a really good question. So, I've always kind of been like a “party person.”  I've always enjoyed socializing and partying and then as I got older I found the normal clubs and drinking houses, I found it all a little bit abrasive, and I wanted to socialize in a different way, and so that’s when I created the fairy ball, initially.  https://www.thejoychannel.org/ Insta: @joychannelpodcast Gmail: [email protected] Extras at Patreon:  https://www.patreon.com/joychannelpodcast

Episode 23: Harmony and Wellness with Jen Hilman
On this weeks episode, very special guest, Jen Hilman! We talk about wellness, self-love, living holistically, good nutrition, treating the earth well, and so much more. Partial transcript below. Check out our new website!  https://www.thejoychannel.org/  Insta: @joychannelpodcast  Gmail: [email protected]  Extras at Patreon:  https://www.patreon.com/joychannelpodcast (2:11)  J: Rome and I have just been getting to know each other and talking about our life path and vision for the future, and it sparked some really interesting conversation, so we thought it would be great to expand the conversation around health and wellness and what it means to live holistically, holistically well, and my work I feel is to help as many of you as I can to connect with that sense of well-being and health and happiness in your own life through a series of tools including yoga, meditation, essential oil therapy, good nutrition, and other topics that we have been discussing over the years. And so it is important to me to help educate people on how we can live well in a holistic way that is in harmony with our environment and the planet and I think inherently when we start to follow down that path of healing, we innately discover that our o Start to follow down that path of healing innately discover that our own personal journey to Healing Directly reflects our journey to healing with the Earth and with the planet, and so I personally really enjoy exploring that relationship and implementing teachings in my own life and working my own personal healing journey and through that experience I want to share it with as many people as I can so I'm excited to have an opportunity to connect with your network and keep spreading the message of living well and living in a balanced and harmonious way. R: What does harmony feel like in your body? J: it almost feels like a state of neutral which, you know, maybe you would think Harmony feels Blissful or it feels joyful but even those feelings can be expected time of extreme Harmony feels like everything working together everything working optimally as its designed and it's like so harmonious that you almost don't even notice because everything is just as it should be. R: Just a state of peace. Tranquility. Balance. J: What does it feel like in your body? R: It feels like everything is exactly as it should be, in total acceptance of the moment, and being present in the here and now, not thinking about the past or the future, just being here in whatever way you interact with that coming from that balanced place. What would you say is a way that you have most learned to live harmoniously with yourself and thus with the world?

Episode 22: Listening
https://www.thejoychannel.org/ Insta: @joychannelpodcast Gmail: [email protected] Extras at Patreon:  https://www.patreon.com/joychannelpodcast Oftentimes, we will have conversations with people, and we'll hear what they said, but we won't understand what they meant. Cuz we're always just hearing from our own perspectives, so we're understanding from our perspective. So, if someone is telling you something, really listen to what they're saying, and don't do it from your point of view- shift perspectives to view it from where they're coming from, and that’s how you can really deeply listen to them. Sometimes people will say one thing but they're really saying something else, and through listening you can understand that better. Also, an important part of listening is listening to yourself. So often in life we neglect to listen to ourselves, because we're listening to someone else more, or because ego thinks that it knows better, so that quiet voice of intuition gets a little bit stamped out. That intuitive, soft, sweet, love voice that's gently guiding us to and fro can get trampled over by the egoic fear voice that's trying to save us all the time. And I know evolutionarily it makes sense cuz you know, predators and stuff, but that's not super relevant to us right now, so it's good to just acknowledge when when you're feeling fear or when you're really questioning whether you should be doing something, “what should I do? I don't know what to do” and asking everyone around you, that's when you get to pick up your ego and hold it, cradle it, and say “I got you, it's good. Thank you for trying to protect me, I understand this, I understand you, I understand where you're coming from and I appreciate the effort. But quiet down a little bit now cuz we’re safe, I am safe and secure.” And then re-examine the question that you have about what you should be doing about whatever it is and listen. Listen for the soft voice, listen for that voice that's telling you if something is right for you or not. Because you will always know if something is right for you or not by how it feels. And that's you listening to your body, listening to the responses, listening to how your body reacts to things. Your body is going to respond so viscerally to some things and you really should listen to that. What do I mean by listening to your body to know what is right for you? What I mean is listen for the yes and listen for the no. If you are wondering something, if you have a question, listen for the yes in your body. You will know what a yes feels like. You won’t feel resistance, you won't be hesitant, you won't feel anxiety. You will feel that “hell yes” momentum pushing you forward, allowing you to flow forward. A maybe is not a yes. A no it's definitely not a yes. So, when you feel that no, you know that that is time for you to set a boundary, it is time for you to pull back, slow down and listen to the no and verbalize it. Act upon your no. Likewise, when you feel your yes, act upon your yes. When it feels so good to you, so right for you, allow it. Allow that yes. That “hell yes” to come through. That's listening and that's excellent. If you are having an anxiety response to certain things examine where that's coming from. “Okay, what is it that triggered me into having this response?” And walk it back, keep asking those questions “What must I believe to be true to be feeling this way?” or “what can I do to improve the situation? where can I go from here? what is the most loving thing I can do for myself now.” And giving yourself the time and space to rest, too. If you're feeling overwhelmed, odds are your decision-making skills are going to be so much better after you take a nap or something. Get some rest. We talked about listening to self and others. Now let's talk listening to nature.
