Happy New Year, y'all! Let's put 2021 and the 'VID to bed! The data seem to show Omicron is highly transmissible and very mild. CDC is putting its prevalence at 60-75%. The data also seem to show that Omicron breaks through prior immunity from both the vaccine and natural infection. Combine that with NYE, where millions pack into small places to dance, kiss, drunkely yell & sing, and ritually make out at midnight. I'm calling the superest of super-spreaders. This will surely lead to some bad outcomes for some, the law of large numbers and all, but, in the end, it will likely get us on our way to widespread natural/herd immunity. In other words, tonight is our collective date with Omicron.   Thankfully, the wise rulers of major US cities are putting vax mandates in place after the new year.
