For Fathers Day this year, 2022 I decided to have my Dad as my guest on The Interested Man Podcast. He has a big heart, is an avid reader, he’s been married for 53 years (to my Mum), his entrepreneurial spirit started as a child fishing golf balls out of the river and selling them back to the golfers, animals bow down to his tough love and he is the opposite of a social butterfly. He loves solitaire on the computer, cars, good wine, food packed with flavour, Aldi special buys and doesn’t think an instruction manual is useful, I’m pleased to say I really enjoyed having a conversation with my Dad and hearing abut his entrepreneurial journey.

My guest on this episode is an author of books about remarkable life stories, she is a funeral celebrant and storyteller. I believe her to be a beaming beauty of light with a presence that says please tell me where you’ve come from and where you’re headed, your words are safe with me. For over two decades she has defined and communicated tailored messages, in an effective way to designated audiences. In 1999 she launched Eventive, providing freelance communications and event management services to an eclectic range of clientele. Take a listen to her and learn about writing, the war, becoming a funeral celebrant and the importance of family.

My most well known guest to date, she hails from Dublin, Ireland and is incredibly talented, she’s an Art Director, James Beard Award-winning food, lifestyle and travel photographer, food stylist, 3 time cookbook author and blogger known for her food blog ‘What Katie Ate’. I thought I was a perfectionist until I met her, and realised I had a lot to live up to to match her level of detail. Aside from food and design, if you want a lesson in 90’s grunge/rock music you’re in the right place. Her website is KATIE QUINN PHOTOGRAPHY and you can also follow her on Instagram @whatkatieate_official
Please Note: Katie is returning to live and work in Australia from September 2022.

Everyone has a message, including my guest in this episode who is from the UK. People tend to underplay what they do and who they are, but everyone really is interesting. Carol Benton has written and released a book called 'Connect Convince Convert' and is an expert in words and communication, take a listen and hear for yourself. She shares insights about her life, unrelated to a new book she has just released. But I question, isn’t it related? I believe so.
