Excellent Podcast that Encourages You to Learn More!
I’m a lover of history and always enjoy a quality history doc or podcast. I have an affinity to the Gilded era in across the world and stumbled across this but decided to start from Chapter 1. I enjoy most is how it’s such an unbiased view of history. The host is a phenomenal storyteller, I’m I love the fact that it inspires me to research more about certain events, “Never Stop Learning!” I’m just a little over a month in and I’m currently on Chapter 63.

Connecting The Dots
This is an interesting and enjoyable listen, very well researched and narrated. It has really opened my eyes to the the origins of many of our modern institutions and ways of doing things. Almost every aspect of modern life was born or matured during the period covered by this podcast, and it really helped me connect the dots and see where so many ideas we take for granted come from. Also the narrative is well put together and you can tell the host puts a lot of time and effort into getting the correct pronunciation down for the many foreign names, places, etc. I really appreciate this aspect along with the attention to accuracy. Well worth a listen for history lovers and those that want to figure out how we got to the present day.

Excellent
An excellent and well researched podcast that gets into all aspects of the industrial revolutions including science, technology, engineering, economics, human experience, and even touches on how religion all shaped the economy and the technological advances that shaped the modern world. I’m addicted to the clear presentation, wealth of information, the learning and thought provoking topics. After each episode I often pause to reflect and look at the information through my unique lens. Huge fan! Great job by Dave.

Industrial Society and its Futuee
The Industrial Revolution and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race. They have greatly increased the life-expectancy of those of us who live in “advanced” countries, but they have destabilized society, have made life unfulfilling, have subjected human beings to indignities, have led to widespread psychological suffering (in the Third World to physical suffering as well) and have inflicted severe damage on the natural world. The continued development of technology will worsen the situation. It will certainly subject human beings to greater indignities and inflict greater damage on the natural world, it will probably lead to greater social disruption and psychological suffering, and it may lead to increased physical suffering even in “advanced” countries.

Superb History Podcast
This is a fantastic history podcast to learn about the industrial revolution era and many of the fascinating historical topics surround it as well as the people, places, inventions, and communities. The host is terrific, easy to listen to and this podcast is well researched and a great resource to learn about an important time period.

A great series!
This podcast takes a topic-oriented approach to an endlessly detailed and fascinating period in history. The causes and repercussions of the Industrial Revolution have determined, to a very large degree, the day-to-day reality that we live today. These forces are examined in detail as are the developing ideologies that shaped conflict in more recent history. A superb podcast which I look forward to enjoying in the future.

This utterly terrible and shouldn’t be ever made cause my teacher is making me do a reflection on it after I listen to it

Great facts, biased presenter
I was a big fan of this podcast, however the constant jabs at “certain demographics” beliefs and thought processes really put me off. It’s a shame that people cannot separate their politics from a good lesson on history.

Compelling
I have been binging this podcast. Other history podcast I get bored and quit. Not this one.

Great history of innovation
This is a great podcast series. Entertaining and intelligent. An extremely efficient and fun way to start exploring this history of innovation, including the chain of causal events and happenstances, and the people.

Made with pride & excellence
I appreciate a detailed account of history, and that is exactly what David offers here in his podcast, ‘The Industrial Revolutions’. His passion for history is evident by how deep he digs to get all the facts and how neatly he arranges them into digestible twenty-to-thirty minute episodes. Although the narrative can be a bit fast-paced for me, it is presented clearly and confidently, with no ‘um’s or ‘uh’s polluting the sessions. This is a very well-done podcast. As a Christian, the first episode is skippable as its main theme contradicts what the Bible says about the origin of man. The bonus episodes contain interviews with colleagues of David, knowledgeable about aspects of topics talked about in the main episodes. They can be passed over if all you are here for is an account of history. David mentioned that he has 45 episodes planned for the first of at least three industrial revolutions alone, which means that he intends to make this a years-long journey through this single perspective of history. As we are only ten episodes in so far, I will be looking forward to David’s continued storytelling expertise for a long time to come. Don’t forget to subscribe!

Unlike high school history, this is very entertaining.
It’s fascinating to learn how our species clawed our way out of the mud and built the technological marvel we live in today.

Surprisingly Entertaining
Dave has a strangely seductive voice and even though he's basically reading a script, his intonations and emphasis makes it terrifically entertaining. And the subjects so far have very interesting. Highly recommend.

Listen if you are fascinated by human history and/or technology
If you are someone, like me, that is fascinated how humans ended up in the word we have today, especially given +90% of human history we were hunter-gatherers, this is a great podcast. It’s an examination of the last 250 years in particular, but the lead up is so interesting (I especially love the bonus episode titles “why not China?”). The narrator moves FAST but keeps your interest. And his passion is addictive, especially when he talks about his personal interests, like what would Thomas More think of our world? I’m hooked.

A New Favorite
This is a great new pickup to add to my other history subs (Revolutions, Hardcore History, How It Began, Revisionist History, History if Rome). I think the style, pace, and quality is very similar to Mike Duncan’s pods. I’m excited for this one to take off.

Very Engaging for Non-Historians
The host does a really great job of making each episode interesting for someone who is just curious about the industrial revolutions. So far (3 episodes in), there has been a lot of content from before the industrial revolutions which has been setting the stage for the main content. The podcast does a great job of explaining why this context setting is important and of connecting these earlier events to the industrial revolutions. I’m looking forward to many more episodes!

A historic connection to today’s evolving world
It’s been a while since I’ve been in a history class but I feel like I could successfully play Jeopardy now. Dave does a great job of bringing historical information to life with vivid, entertaining descriptions and connects it to aspects of modern day life. What I love: The connection between modern day and history that are highlighted.

Insightful and engaging
This podcast is EXACTLY what I’ve been looking for! It takes a big-picture, thoughtful approach to the development of humankind and society as we know it. The first couple episodes somehow weave a creative story to bind centuries’ worth of transformative history all together in a way that reflects the best of the nonfiction genre! I can’t wait to hear more.
