Guys, I thoroughly enjoy the content, discussion and delivery. Love the interviews with the state departments of fish and game/parks and wildlife as well as the recent discussions with fitness experts from Cal State Fullerton with a focus on the aging backcountry athlete. Keep up the good work.

This podcast is one that I can always learn something from regarding hunting. Some other podcasts tend to venture off into politics and other topics. This one is motivational and sticks to the point… hunting. No b.s adds or endorsements. Keep it up! Love listening to every episode

I really have enjoyed these episodes with state game agencies. I’ve learned a lot while I know there is complex issues managing Game. I do feel that the Idaho guest has shaded the issue on wolves killing elk. I understand part of that is probably job protection so I understand but all I appreciate his information really appreciate, my issue would be I would’ve asked if they would put a system in place in Idaho in order to allow people to help with their children or their fathers brothers uncles, etc. cause his nonresident that is almost impossible unless you are very lucky which is detrimental to hunting heritage and hunting for Idaho in the long run. Thanks again for the quality information as usual!

Mark and Steve and their guests (even Jake on occasion) do a good job of telling stories, asking questions, answering listener questions etc. Been listening to them since beginning. Learned a bunch over the years. Thanks for doing a great job.

One of the few podcasts I listen to every episode Mark and Steve are a wealth of information and Mark does a great job both finding and engaging with guests that are interesting and relevant to western DIY hunters. Great job guys!

I find pretty much every episode of this podcast to be helpful and informative. They never seem to be speaking over my head (I’m a noob hunter) and I don’t get the impression that more seasoned hunters can’t find something new to learn. I *LOVE* that the show isn’t sponsored by anyone (other than Exo themselves, obviously), so I don’t have to wade through all the trash ads that seem to be infesting all of my other podcasts lately. These guys just really seem to love what they are doing, and want to make everyone a better hunter.

This podcast stands out as one of the best hunting podcasts out there. Real hunting stories, real world (non-sponsored) gear discussions and a informative discussions and advice for guys and gals that might be trying to learn something new in the world of hunting.

The Backcountry Hunting podcast is a great resource for information pertaining to strategies associated with hunting in the backcountry, as well as moving through and existing in the mountains in general. The information provided is applicable and easily incorporated into a backcountry strategy. The podcast overall is not a gear advertisement platform, but rather productive discussion about strategies and what actually works.

There is so much to learn from this podcast. I am a relatively seasoned hunter but regularly find new information on tactics and equipment that is very helpful.

Interviews with “adult onset hunters” about their guided Montana side by side elk hunting trip is not what I signed up for. I am disappointed in how far their content has degenerated and now this feels like another me too hunting podcast that is hotspotting and encouraging more and more crowding while hawking gear and gizmos. Peace, I’m out, for good.

Really appreciate the hyper focused content on backcountry hunting. I know the advice shared has been earned from years of experience, yet they are open to trying new things. ‘Prreciate-ya!

They never try to sell you any product (not even their own). They share a wealth of good western/backcountry hunting info.

I have been planning a New Mexico mule deer hunt with my dad and brother. Our first out of state hunt, and first mule deer hunt. We have been listening to episode 232-239 about how to hunt mule deer and these are filled with so much knowledge. It is amazing you guys are doing a fantastic job!

Episode 438 about Wyoming game and fish is some of the best hunting knowledge and information I have ever listened too on any podcast! Outstanding episode

Great listen, especially the before and after stories

I’ve been listening to the podcast since early 2017. Bottom line, I trust what Mark and Steve have to say. Keep up the strong work!

Been listening for years and love that Steve and Mark haven’t been bought- they give the most honest opinions on all things backcountry hunting and gear. I listen to them all the time on training hikes and on the way to the hills. Keep it up boys!

Have learned so much from Mark and Steve over the years. From tactics to gear they are a wealth of knowledge. Since I started listening, I am now consistently, putting animals on the ground.

I really enjoy this podcast; the variety of topics and information shared is broad, but I find useful information in most of the episodes. The hosts do an excellent job of presenting tactics and gear information that’s easy to understand and relatable. This is a go to for my hunting related listening!

Steve & Mark Can you do some shows for the beginner archer? Tips on buying a bow, arrows and broad heads. After years of rifle hunting I have decided to buy a bow and go archery elk hunting. Any info you can pass along would be helpful. I love your podcasts and all the detail you provide. Eric

This is THE go to podcast for myself. I am not an archery hunter(yet) but, every episode I’ve listened through has helped me develop great strategies and gear necessities for my rifle hunts here in Montana. Each interview or listener Q & A’s y’all do has helped me improve my hunting experience vastly. I hunt to fill my freezer for my wife, kids and myself. Appreciate all of the detailed information shared.

Some good info but there’s just SO much time wasted on personal biographies before anything interesting gets discussed. I don’t care whether or not your guest watches tv or what sport their kid does in the off-season, how long they’ve lived in BFE or whether their dad hunted in Minnesota in the ‘60’s. There’s too many good podcasts to spend an hour of your life listening to this clutter hoping for something interesting.

Excellent job of sharing practical information on mountain hunting, living and first aid.

The Hunt Breakdown episode are so valuable. While we all have our own communities we hunt with, these episode expand those experiences we can learn from. Thank you for posting stories from people like the listeners, and in many cases are the listeners.

I was spoiled by having this be the first hunting podcast I regularly listened to. I didn’t realize how knowledgeable Mark and Steve are, and how rare it is to have a podcast that doesn’t have sponsors or push products constantly. So many other podcasts are hour long commercials for products. They have an incredible variety of topics, but I somehow find every episode informative, entertaining and often inspiring, even after listening for a number of years. This is the one podcast that I look forward to on a weekly basis. Keep the episodes coming!

I just finished the podcast on wolf hunting and I want to say thank you for giving an educated, well reasoned analysis of why hunting wolves, and any other game animal for that matter, is one of the best ways to manage healthy populations of the animals that we all enjoy. Hunting is conservation. It's that simple. Your podcast is my favorite one and I listen to several on different subjects. I love hunting and the outdoors and I really appreciate what you guys do to help spread the word for us. This podcast is an incredible big game hunting resource WITH NO ADS! It is largely responsible for my taking up archery elk hunting which has been an incredibly positive experience for me. The podcast and subsequent info I have gathered from researching its guests and their strategies has given me everything I need to know to feel confident in guiding myself in yearly hunting excursions for elk. Highly recommended.

I have listened to every variety of hunting podcast and this one is the best one to which I have ever listened. Mark and Steve are low-key, knowledgable yet humble hosts who know how to get the best interview out of every guest. Their body of podcasts is an amazing resource of backcountry knowledge. Many are episodes I will listen to again just to squeeze a bit more juice out of them. Keep up the good work!

I’ve been listening to this podcast for about six months now. I am so impressed with the content. After listening to the interview of Curtis and his solo Hunt experience, I had to leave a five star rating. Mr. Speck is an excellent interviewer who asks great questions and knows when to be quiet and listen to the guests spe Just listening to Curtis describe his hunt with keen details on elk behavior: bulls versus cows, and how he handled his injury in the field makes this particular one so good!

I’m a hunter from Illinois who goes out west a little, But dreams of it daily. This is an informative and entertaining podcast that I highly recommend!

I enjoy all of these podcasts. A lot of real work great info. The last podcast episode 392 was really enjoyable and informative to listen too. There were plenty of teachable lessons and reminders that I took from the podcast. And Curtis is a badass… Keep up the great work
