I would love for you to do a show on those people that fully support trump and his Supreme Court and all the climate change denying that accompanies that who in their personal lives live like it’s the end of days. Who have dozens of solar panels and have perfected the art of preserving food. I have seen this first hand and am astounded. I want to know why they do this. Why support these dangerous politics when you’re aware how the planet is changing

I can feel Jermaine’s passion through his voice. He’s unearthed many of the unknowns of black history for me. I recommend this podcast to anyone who wants to learn about the parts of American history that have been omitted or whitewashed to make the masses feel “comfortable”.

I love that this podcast is based with primary documents and research but the host manages to weave in storytelling and emotion - not to manipulate your emotions, but to bring out the humanity in this history. If Fowler had been your college history professor, you would have made sure to attend every lecture!

Jermaine Fowler brings Black history alive with his voice and knowledge. The episodes are rich with history and leave you with so much to reflect on.

I really enjoy listen to the plethora of topics Mr. Fowler introduces. Very thought provoking and engaging. I have a few favorites as those topics so far, for example, “The Great Migration” & “Kill Every Buffalo You Can!” I have just started listening and enjoy the expanse of what’s being discussed, but how they all come down to the same conclusion: Truths not being told in their entirety are now being exposed, giving an alternate perspective that needs to be heard and marinated on. All of this excites my already established and natural curiosity. Thank you 🙏🏾.

Fowler somehow brings not just the facts of research but also the soul. Subjects are treated with the respect they deserve by honoring the narrative, the context, and the participants. He presents stories such as the history of women’s suffrage as absolutely essential, not as an interesting tidbit about “others.” He is not quick to label people based on one quote, but includes their life and relationships before and after. Thank you, gracious host.

This podcast series is wide-ranging and very well done. Jermaine gives his opinion occasionally, but the majority of the podcasts are based on historical accounts of important people and incidents in American history, and almost all of them are only slightly known to the general public, at least in any depth. Jermaine always tries to provide opposing viewpoints of what happened decades or hundreds of years ago at these pivotal moments, using accounts from historians and contemporary journalists. He enables the listener to form their own opinions about these seminal stories, and they can do so with much more information than they had prior to listening.

This show is very thought-provoking. It constantly reexamines what we think we know as truths. I love the way the host speaks in an unpredictable cadence, barely pausing long enough to catch his breath. In our current age of misinformation, this show is therapy for our minds and souls.

I highly recommend listening and supporting The Humanity Archive. Jermaine Fowler has an innate skill for fusing truthful history and storytelling.

Jermaine Fowler has a scholarly and entertaining way of telling historical narratives that many Americans missed out on in public education. It’s important that we learn and share these stories so we do not repeat the ills of history and so we can know the complexity of the people and events that shaped our present. I’ve already pre-ordered his book “The Humanity Archive” and look forward to continuing to share these stories with students and my family.

American history can be hard to digest when we have been forced feed to believe things happened a certain way. Glad to be educated and see different views and aspects of how humanity and evolved and treated people less than sun human. Enjoy the shows, they end too fast.

Something particular I like about this podcast is the many quotations and how seamlessly the first hand accounts blend into the overarching narrative.

Jermaine Fowler is incredibly talented in bringing a hidden history to light. The way he portrays the real lives of people from the past - of many cultures - learn something new every time. And, gives opportunities to go deeper to reflect on ourselves and where we are on the spectrum of history.

Jermaine is absolutely incredible! I thoroughly enjoy listening to his accounts of HUMAN history. He does an amazing job of humanizing moments and characters in history in a way that is both moving and educational. Easily my favorite podcast. Requires listening for anyone who wants to learn the decolonized version of history.

I’ve been following The Humanity Archive on Instagram for some time and have learned so much that I never learned in school or from the news or media. Jermaine has a great storytelling voice and talks about horrific topics of human history with respect for those who experienced the atrocities while not sugar-coating or diminishing the acts of the perpetrators. Wonderful podcast!

I have found a lot of value from established experts like Henry Louis Gates Jr. and other well-known historians in this area. But this show here is like finding that indie artist that gives a fresh outlook; he’s a one-man producer, researcher, and orator that really gives a refreshing outlook and perspective. aside from the delivery of critical information often omitted, the delivery is simply artful, remniscient of a young, passionate Marcus Garvey.

This podcast has taught me so many new things that were never taught in my history classes in school. One of my favorite history podcasts, I started listening with the John Brown episodes. It’s fresh, captivating, and it’s 100% true you haven’t heard the story like Jermaine Fowler tells it. There is always so much to learn, and an informed understanding of the past from a humanitarian perspective can do so much to shape one’s outlook on life. While early historians paid tribute to his brilliant contributions to our founding, recent historians are more inclusive of a person’s character. Jefferson was a moral failure, and as such, we cannot continue to hold his name as our church’s. Great history podcast! Interesting and compelling bits of history that help explain where we are now. I love history for exactly this reason, as well as allows us to look into the historic experiences of people and the ways this shapes future experience as well as the evolution of our entire social structure. Fowler does a as great job of exploring just this and does this through great storytelling and a keen talent for inquiry. I came for the Black history and got so much more! Great listen

Jermaines ability to tell a story is one of a kind. He distillation information in a way that is accessible and engaging, while connecting it to the larger humanities project. It allows the audience to take away a piece of themselves in each moment in history. 11/10

This podcast is one of my go-to’s and that’s big for me since history was my least favorite subject in school. Jermaine is a next level storyteller. He brings passion, enthusiasm, and entertainment to his show and makes it super engaging. Not to mention his mission is extremely important; creating space for counter narratives and telling the stories of marginalized heroes is crucial if we don’t want to repeat the sins of our past as a nation. Put Jermaine in your rotation, I pinky swear you won’t regret it.

The white washing of American history has served to enable the cycle of racism, would have us believe it’s been suitably addressed and those that seek a reckoning are nothing but disgruntled citizens. I discovered Jermaine on his Instagram page, @thehumanityarchive, a must follow if you are interested in the truth of Black history. When I first saw the post about an entire podcast being devoted to John Brown, a white man and an abolitionist before the civil war, my interest was peaked. As a kid I remember hearing the story of Harpers Ferry but the angle was “those rebels.” Jermaine draws upon historical writings, literature, his own research and his warm, edge of your seat story telling voice to bring John Brown to life. We come to understand through the thorough portrait Jermaine paints of John exactly what compelled the events of Harpers Ferry and the critical impact of abolition. A must hear, educational, riveting story of courage and influence.
