Concerning Petunia Evans Dursley
1 Albus Dumbledore’s letter to Petunia Dursley was written by Albus Dumbledore on November 1st 1981 to Petunia Dursley. The letter detailed the wards that would be created if she agreed to raise Harry. So does that mean she knew about Mrs Figg? Is that why she was essentially a babysitter for the Dursleys when they left Harry behind? She also would have known that after Harry reached adulthood the wards would go away. Could this also be why she was less strict about Harry going to Hogwarts? If they didn’t like Harry wouldn’t Hogwarts be a god send? They could be rid of him for most of the year. 2 Albus Dumbledore’s Howler to Petunia Dursley was written by Albus Dumbledore to Petunia Dursley on August 2nd 1995, to remind her “of the pact she had sealed by taking Harry Potter in”. Dumbledore really thought the Howler was going to be effective in that moment? I doubt that the letter and promise was the last thing in her mind. She was only focusing on her Little Dudley.

More, more and then a wee bit more
Ok, Mr. Vander Ark the time has come for more and I'm quite sure there’s more inside you to give. I would like more of this fine podcast of yours… please! I can listen to you pontificate on HP for hours and hours, In fact, in a perfect world, we would have a HP discussion and debate at the Hogshead over a large measure of butter beer. I’ve enjoyed your segments on other podcast and I’m surprised it’s taken you this long to produce your own. But, now that it is here I simply want more of it… again, please.

A happy find!
I just stumbled across your podcast and have listened to all 13 available today. It is great to find an informative and intelligent new (to me anyway) HP podcast. Like many I miss the heyday of the HP fandom, but expect to be a lifelong member. I hope you continue to add new podcasts as possible. As your podcast has noted there is always more to discuss as we reflect on HP memories or look at new angles of viewing this amazing book series.

Amazing!
These are great Harry Potter podcasts! And I love that you focus on the canon stuff rather than the movies and such. Thank you Steve for everything you've done with the Harry Potter Lexicon!

Steve is truly impressive...
Not only does Steve have a youthful love for all the intricacies of the Harry Potter world, but he's also fantastic at analyzing the literary maneuvers and the overall trajectory of Rowling's epic plot. When you're "with" Steve for an hour, you don't feel ashamed to be an absolute fanatic about HP, but you also know that you're bound to learn a lot with each podcast. I've written in to Steve before with questions pertaining to his lexicon, and he was both prompt and helpful as he eagerly responded via email. I hope to one day write a book that uses many ideas and concepts that were instilled in me by Jo Rowling, and I know that if I do write this book, I'll find Steve's podcast to be a wonderful companion in my endeavor.

VanderArk Podcast
Great first episode for what is sure to be a great podcast. You feel like are sitting down having a conversation with Steve and come away feeling like you know more about HP (which is the whole point). Got to learn some new stuff which I love to do with Harry. Great fun if you are a HP fan and better than any others I've listened to.
