Jazmyn Mackie is currently a student at the University of New Orleans studying Hotel Restaurant and Tourism. We shared a conversation with Jazmyn about her path through the Warren Easton Academy of Hospitality and Tourism, what drives her passion for hospitality as well as how she is working to follow in her parent's footsteps as an entrepreneur. In this episode, we are joined by Joshua Robichaux, General Manager of The Pontchartrain Hotel. In our conversation, Josh shares the path that brought him from Doorman to General Manager. We discuss leadership and discuss the importance of the housekeeping department. Josh also shares how he was able to transfer his skills to a hotel that supports medical tourism as well as his views on the future of hospitality.   

In our conversation with Josh, we discussed the importance and benefits of Six Sigma as well as how it impacts the way each of us leads today. Six Sigma is a data-based, disciplined approach and methodology that assists in eliminating defects. We had the opportunity to discuss how each of us participated in this process during our time with Starwood Hotels and how that has carried into the way we approach problem-solving today. Johanna Martin joins our conversation today. Johanna is the Director of Housekeeping at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside. As the Director of Housekeeping at the largest property in New Orleans, Johanna shares her unique perspective on hospitality.
