Obsessed with the show but the volume needs some real work. Sometimes you can understand what Mariana is saying/asking.

I have loved this pod, but the sound is way off. I have to have it turned all the way up to hear Mariana and her guest, but then the ads are all deafening. After reading other reviews, it seems like others are experiencing this too. I wanted to contact your show about it, but your website doesn’t have a contact form.

The hidden third is the most interesting podcast I listen to. I wait for the episodes weekly, I wish there was more! More people need to know about this podcast. She’s a great interviewer and the content is always informative and entertaining

I had high hopes when I started following and listening to this podcast but the more episodes in I get the way more one sided and tilted hard left it becomes. Mariana skewed so far from an objective conversation with the reporter she interviewed,Jacob Soboroff, calling him a really great and factual reporter with integrity was just straw that broke the camels back. I hadn’t listened to 5 minutes of that episode and knew that he may have done factual and objective journalism in the past but what he was describing there was 100% opinion writing and not true write the facts journalism. The whole Trump is bad he has kids in cages when the Biden administration was turning kids loose with non family members with no follow ups was just gross! I have problems with things Trump does but at least he was elected and is running his administration. Biden had dementia and unelected people were running our government during his term. I did a quick search , and I’m going to do deeper dive as soon as I’m done here, and nothing popped up about him going after all if the corruption of last administration. Maybe I just didn’t dig deep enough to see all of his articles throughout the Biden years calling out the corruption and fact that he isn’t running the country. I just wish people could just be objective and factual. No slant to the right and no slant to the left. Just honest journalism into both sides of the aisle.

LOVE the content and the stories being shared, so interesting! But curious why it’s so quiet. You need the volume all the way up and still aren’t able to understand their voices when in your car compared to other pods. Again love the pod but wish it was a bit louder.

I love The Hidden Third — Mariana is such a thoughtful, natural interviewer, and the guests are always interesting, engaging, and well chosen. The conversations feel smart, curious, and easy to get drawn into, which makes it one of my favorite podcasts to unwind with. My only small piece of feedback is on the audio levels. Sometimes the guest’s volume is noticeably louder than Mariana’s, so when I listen while falling asleep with a sleep timer, it can be hard to find the right volume. I’ll turn it up to hear Mariana clearly, but then the guest can feel a bit too loud. More consistent volume balancing would make an already great podcast even better!

But latestest episode mixed WAY too low. Run a loudness pass on the final mix set to -16 LUFS so we can hear it the way it was meant to be!

I love the content! Powerful conversations. But, the volume needs to be balanced out. The dialogue is way too quiet and the commercial inserts end up frighteningly loud.

I love this podcast and have been a fan of Mariana since 2020. For the production team- can you please turn up the volume when mixing the episode for podcast?

Great pod great guests and amazing interviewer so glad Mariana has a podcast

I am addicted to this podcast. I usually enjoy true crime podcasts. This is NOT that! However, somehow I stumbled on it and from the first episode I have been hooked. This is a whole different spin on real life crime. The stories are phenomenal and I’m learning a whole new way to relate to people. I binge the entire episode all at once and then count down the days until the next one is released. So fascinating and enjoyable!

I was SO excited when I discovered Mariana started a podcast. She is an absolute hero and I love her work! These stories are incredible and need to be heard!

Mariana is an unsung hero. I love the trafficked television series and miss it a great deal. I'm very glad Mariana came back to do this podcast. I am enjoying the podcast although I find that the guests could little structure. M is getting better at bringing guests back to their point but could be a little forceful in providing a little more story structure. Keep it up! Can't wait to come back and raise this to 5 stars.

I started listening to Hidden Third because I have watched Mariana’s show for years. Always gets interesting interviews. My only knock is she sides too much with the criminals. Always seems to forget that innocent people are getting hurt because of them. I don’t care how poor their country is, or how bad their upbringing was. You still know right from wrong . The latest episode, undercover cop, she tried so hard to get him to blame ICE for everything and he wasn’t taking the. Air. When she couldn’t get him to take her side, she dismissed it and moved on.

Mariana continues the great independent journalism and to present fascinating stories. Keep it up!

Mariana’s podcast is fantastic - I haven’t missed an episode yet. She has some fascinating guests with incredible stories. One recommendation for the guys who come on the podcast - please let Mariana talk! I’ve heard them talking over her and interrupting her so often, one was even quite rude. It’s a two sided conversation guys!

Absolutely my favorite podcast but something has to be done with the volume of ads. I listen on Apple Podcasts and have to raise the volume up a bunch on the show then when an ad comes on it blows out my eardrums. Please fix this and I will gladly change to a 5 out of 5 review.

I loved watching Trafficked & now I’m so happy that Mariana came out with this podcast! The Hidden Third gives an entertaining but also educational insight on criminal activities that are often never spoken about. . Mariana is an incredible journalist, host and interviewer - she asks the questions to her guests that you hope she asks, and offers an opportunity to view nuanced issues from a new perspective

I really love the framing of the show, the guests and conversations. They’ve inspired me to not make excuses for goals in my life. The audio levels need to be boosted because this pod is quieter than all my others. I love the natural flow of the conversations but it often feels like host and guest are talking over each other.

Sound volume is low compared to the commercials. It kills me ears. Love the show

LOVE THE SHOW; however, the interviews are so quiet and the commercials are obnoxiously loud. I miss half the interview because they’re too quiet, but I don’t want to blow my eardrums when a commercial comes on!

I like this podcast but we get it, perplexity is a sponsor. The amount of times it’s mention is really obnoxious. It’s not authentic anymore and screams money grab

I love your work. I’ve watched it all. I know the shows you’re doing are geared the way you want them but there’s always two sides. Please keep asking the tough questions. That’s why I listen. The ICE agent episode was good but there’s a lot wrong with what he said. There are plenty of avenues to explain both sides. Debate makes your show better.

Lots of leading questions. Host seems to feel obligated to share their experience more than allowing their guest to share their experience. The volume of the guest is so low that when the host speaks it hurts… never mind the volume of an advertisement. I’ll tune in for subjects that are interesting but don’t think I’ll listen to all of them.

I couldn’t make it through the disgusting child molester episode because Mariana’s level of empathy and sympathy for child molesters was so sickening I literally began to feel nauseous. What a vile human being posing as a beacon of righteousness. Good god! Made the mistake of listening to the previous episode with Lisa Phillips and my disdain for this woman became overwhelming. There is simply no way to jibe her approach to these two stories. Gross.

I’ve always loved your shows and when you are on longform podcast because you are such an interesting and thorough journalist. One of the things that people love about you is that you take topics that are unpalatable to most people and give a neutral perspective. However, I feel this ICE issue is very personal to you. I would challenge you to have a panel of guests here that have had a family member murdered by an illegal immigrant. How about the Neighbourhood impact of MS 13? How about the hundreds of thousands of missing children that were brought here for slavery in traffic and not for a better life? It’s very unlike you to tell only half of the story. ICE did not cause the immigration problems that we have today. M somebody from the previous administration could come on and explain why they allowed so many people to pour over our borders. Don’t get me wrong, I think that this is an excellent guest to have on. I’m just not used to you showing your agenda so transparently. Hopefully, this is a one off because it’s something that you’re very close to. Because I love your show. Thanks for what you do.

Listened to father vs child predator. The host keeps talking over and interrupting. Very annoying and distracting.

Today everybody has opinions on everything, myself included, and I think because information is readily available, we convince ourselves that we understand more about subjects than we actually do. I have learned more from Mariana and her investigations into various topics than I ever thought I would have. In many ways it’s changed my perspective 180°. The access that she has been able to get to the underworld is stunning and I think it’s because it’s easy for them to see that she is who she says she is because she has such a long history of being a journalist. Regardless, she gets a level of honesty from them that is stunning to me. If you really want to understand the entire issue, take the time to listen to her investigations. You will not consider it time wasted.

Seemed like the host really needed Anna to admit she was sorry and that she was cold etc. The host was obviously frustrated that Anna didn’t just give in and say what she wanted. What value is there to the guest saying what you want her to say when she clearly doesn’t mean it? Really made the interview seem a bit amateurish.

I feel like everyone should listen to this podcast and absorb some of the information and perspectives that is being shared

I’ve been watching her documentary series Traffic on Hulu . She’s amazing, she can make it seem like she’s an old friend to the people she’s interviewing. And these people are some of the most dangerous .

She is amazing! How she talks to all these people and somehow gets them to spill their secrets and tell their stories. Been obsessed with Mariana for years and now even more. Randomly met her for about 30 seconds at the airport about a week ago and she is the real deal. Warm, genuine, and exactly who hope she would be.

Only listened to one episode thus far. Good reporting, but the woman interviewed about being a Russian spy is a total fraud. I have been profiled as a Russian spy over half my life, and she did not divulge anything that wasn’t already mass reported on or a plot in movies. Very blasé, generic, fake. I could come up with the plot lines when I was ten years old. One star because she’s an integrity risk but 5 star because the interviewer is good, overall 3.

I have listened to one episode thus far, the one with Otani’s translator’s bookie. The guy goes on and on with one self-serving, specious moral justification after another. I’ve not heard anything like it since reading Justine by the Marquis de Sade. Mariana’s brilliance is to let him run, only pushing back when he goes way too far, but letting his voice be heard. Journalism at its best. Hurrah!!

Do you like TDS? You will get an excellent dose of it on this show. Credit to her for what she's done in the past. Not admitting that you use massive amounts of B roll claiming it was you walking somewhere at that exact time and not admitting that it's a B roll is kind of suspect. Even NASA admits they pre-taped certain things.
