A highly edifying podcast on the Reformed Faith, theology, history and many others. Scott is very knowledgeable, not to mention hilarious! I would highly recommend this podcast to anyone.

I’ve been listening long enough that I suppose I wrongly assumed I already wrote a review for this podcast. It appears I have not, until now. What can I say? It’s a great show, though it may take a few episodes to get used to the style (unless you still listen to radio, grandpa). I always look forward to a new episode popping up, so that’s a good sign. I enjoy the variety of episode formats and range of topics, as well as guests and the additional hosts of the Superfriends. A+, five stars, all that stuff. Thanks for your work!

I was recently hospitalized for ten days. Was told that I might not make it. Humbled. Repeatedly thought of “what is your only comfort in life and in death?” Am home but things are iffy. Jesus is still my only comfort. Thank you 🙂

I always benefit from this podcast, but especially from the discussions with the Superfriends. When my family is on a roadtrip, we enjoy listening to the fruitful discussions, and always look forward to the intro: “The best podcast, the Heidelcast.” Thanks to Dr. Clark and the Superfriends for promoting Reformed theology, piety and practice. I recommend this to anyone seeking a better understanding of what Confessional Reformed theology is.

Heidelcast is not like other Reformed podcasts. It is not a list of sermons. It is not a couple of guys spending more time on themselves than on God. But it is a tool to impart Reformed piety and practice in all of life

The Heidel universe is a a staggeringly thoughtful exposition of reformed theology. You are invited in to sit at the table and feast, have your mind fed, and your heart warmed!

I’m an elder in the URCNA and an airline pilot. Thankfully, I’m able to get Sundays off for worship. However during the week (and Saturdays) I am unable to get time to fellowship as I’m on trips. Superfriends Saturday, Heidelminicasts, and the Heidelcast have become my companions during the layovers. So I’m listening in the Caribbean , Hawaii, Canada, NYC, Boston, Florida, etc. Sunday is all business as we have extensive setup at our rental facility. It is also the only time we mutually have to conduct meetings.

My husband and I have listened to the podcast for approximately 8 years and eagerly await the next episode. Saturday Superfriends are especially entertaining and informative. We enjoyed today’s episode 3.21.26 so much we listened twice. The topic of praying to the saints had excellent explanations. Keep up the great variety!

I have been listening to the Heidelcast off and on for the past six years. For the last three or four, it has been in my regular rotation of podcasts. Dr. Clark provides solid theological and historical content that promotes and defends the reformed (i.e., biblical) perspective. He does so in an eirenic and whimsical manner. Listening to him is like listening to a classic radio DJ at times. Oh, and I need more cowbell!!!

I have a question for the guys on super friends Saturday. Do you think that the act of praying two the dead Saints for intercession, which is wrong ,is that actually the same thing as necromancy? I think that it is very similar ,if not the same. I’d love to hear what you guys think.

Here is a Particular Baptist, yes Dr. Clark a Baptist, who listens to and enjoys the Heidelcast and is encouraged and refreshed by the excellent content, even when I disagree (which isn’t often) :-)

I thank God for Dr. Clark. His podcasts are very informing in the reformed faith. I am new to the reformed faith, and I have been richly strengthened and encouraged by his words of wisdom.

I really appreciate Dr. Clark’s dedication to maintaining the doctrine of Sola Fide against various accretions within the faith. Dr. Clark also does a wonderful job of exercising confessional documents when interacting with doctrines from other theological camps. Thank you so much for your ministry!

If you want to know what it means to be reformed and to grow, this is one of the best podcasts.

Dr Clark, have been a reformed Baptist (what we mean by it, covenantal (3), confessional) for many years. Almost thous hast persuaded me to become a Presbyterian. The thing that I didn’t get was the distinction between Moses and Abraham. It is very clear to me now thanks to your teaching. If you’d like a pushback, sometime you straw man Baptist. Just because we don’t fit a historical definition of reformed as you insist does not mean that words and their meanings don’t adapt and change. Reformed, it seems to me, now means either particular Baptist or other reformed expressions who are 1. tricovenental and 2. adhere to various confessions that emerged from the reformation period. Neither here nor there for me just trying to help you understand the terms and their neomeanings, as I see it. Back to you, I have many past baptist friends who are particular in their view of salvation (not just predestinarian but also ordo salutis, et al). Many of them attend Presbyterian churches but still hold to believers baptism. Your series has helped many of them especially me. I wish you could actually address/refute our arguments (the way we see them) though instead of just presenting the Presbyterian position. Awesome show, I’m hooked.

Dear Dr. Clark, My husband introduced me to your podcasts; and I will admit, having grown up with older brothers and sisters who listened to WLS in Chicago, it was hard for me to associate your podcast style with a source for Biblical teaching! I’m determined to be patient with the interruptions. Anyway, I have some questions around giftings of the church and the place hiring non- member/unbelieving help to fill needs in a local church. I imagine most churches from time to time hire outside companies to maintain their buildings or advertise in the general public for help with child care. But what about hiring an unbeliever to help in worship? I’m a member of a reformed church that for 20 years has hired an incredibly talented, unbelieving pianist for our Sunday morning worship services. He brings a great deal of polish and beauty to our services. We have never had a gifted pianist join our church; but if we did, who could measure up? For 20 years he has seen the gospel on display and as a church we expected he would respond. But he has not. Recently a regular attending young man filled in for our pianist. For a last minute fill in he did adequately well but we all had to work harder it. We are really spoiled. Does it matter that we hire this work done for our worship service? Would it be better to use a less talented regular attendee/member who worships along with us yet with much less polish? What about the beauty? But at what cost? Does his indifference to the gospel diminish our worship? (pearls before swine, again) Sincerely, Juror 4324

I grew up in the SBC and was unaware of the significance of the creeds, confessions and church history. “Do Better” Churchianity and the works treadmill is exhausting. Dr Clark gives clear instructions on the distinctions between law & gospel. Phil 1:6

Love the content but Dr. Clark has pushed the sound effects and radio clips at the end of the show to amuse himself to the point that it is just too much 3-4 more minutes could have been spent on teaching instead just overloaded with lots of nothing but noise

The only podcast where the host is both pressed for time and also plays 20 consecutive Three Stooges clips. The only podcast that leaves me with the impression that I’ve just listened to Allen Iverson, Curley Howard, and Zacharius Ursinus discussing Scripture together. The only podcast that instructs my children about hand writing cursive letters to grandma and also scares them when the Voice whispers, “Heidelcast.” In all seriousness, it’s a great podcast for anyone wanting clear explanations about important matters in theology, piety, and practice. Dr. Clark is a clear Bible teacher and offers encyclopedic knowledge of the Reformed tradition. I’m a church planter, and the Heidelcast has helped several of our members settle on matters like the law and gospel, baptism, and eschatology. I wait for Heidelcast series to build up and then I binge listen when I’m driving somewhere or going for a run. A top-notch resource!

This is a great help in understanding reformed perspective

Dr. Clark gives helpful explanations on tough theological principles and also clearly expresses the Gospel that all of us so desperately need!

Dr Clark is a wealth of knowledge and wisdom cleverly disguised within down-to-earth Nebraska common sense and robust sense of humor.

Clark is right about the Baptist/Reformed distinction and that’s a good thing. I am humbly a particular missionary covenantal confessional baptist who appreciates the Heidelcast.

There are a lot of ditches that Christians fall into, but Heidelcast steers a path that is both clear and gracious. Clark is clear on the gospel and presents it with salt in his various historical and theologically big picture ways that are unique to him.

I’ve got a fever, and the only prescription is more Heidelcast! Long time listener, first time reviewer. My two year old daughter especially enjoys when I listen to the Heidelcast, yelling out ‘bell’ whenever Dr. Clark scratches his proverbial cowbell itch. To put it in more Clarkian terms, ‘When the cowbell from the podcast rings, my daughter from the backseat sings.’ Biblical or systematic theology, church history or reformed dogmatics, you’ll find it here on the Heidelcast.

I found the Heidelcast because the Babylon Bee interviewed Dr. Clark. It’s now my favorite podcast, and you can definitely tell he used to be a disc jockey in the ‘80’s. His podcast definitely has that old radio show feel.

If you want Reformed orthodoxy, the Heidelcast is it. Easy to understand but also challenging at times. A very good source of the Reformed faith.

Best Reformed Podcast, period! Fact! R. Scott Clark rocks! His Christian history interweaved in real theology, Reformed Theology, has helped change my leaky dispensational, Lordship Salvation view of Scripture in less than 6 months. I’m 65 and so way behind but the Heidelcast has me moving fast and in the right direction!

A complete meal—Reformed theology, piety, and practice. Dr Clark has that rare combination of being knowledgeable of theology and history, a pastor’s heart, and many years of teaching experience. And a healthy dash of humor. He has helped me understand and apply the truths of scripture, the Reformation, and the confessions. He has a passion for the Reformed confessions.

This podcast is a great resource for anyone wanting to learn more about reformed theology, piety, and practice(What are we talking about 😉). The series 'The Rule of Faith' made the Apostle's Creed even more beautiful to me, 'I Will Be a God to You and Your Children' helped me to understand infant baptism, and contributed to my infant son's baptism! Dr. Clark is really quick when it comes to answering listener questions on the Heidelblog, and genuinely cares about his listeners. I love everything about this podcast, even the Heidelvoice grew on me 😉 I also appreciate the cowbell being quieter for the leatherneck. Made this Marine very proud to be a listener. Guess what?! I got a fever, and the only prescription is more Heidelcast! Thankful for Dr. Clark and this podcast that is both edifying/informative and fun which is no easy feat!

Please drop the bell. I use hearing aids and when that bell goes so does my sanity!

I used to listen to R.C. Sproul but after he passed I figured I should find someone alive in both soul and body to listen to. Reformed Forum was great but I’m just not educated enough to follow along with all their discussions (which was a first for me). The Hiedelcast has become my go-to for recovering reformed theology, piety, and practice. He also got my wife into podcasts, in fact she’s more up to date on his current series than I am. If he seems a little random sometimes, keep listening and you’ll start to see the pattern. Cow bell means pay attention, intro sound-bites are anything from TV shows and radio he listened to as a youngster to more recent movie quotes to last week’s presidential address. Also, he actually has a background in radio which is probably why he does so well at this.

Learning a lot from this podcast. But I will say I’m Not a fan of the creepy voice that randomly says Heidelcast and speaks like he’s in witness protection. Haha other than that it’s great!

Fortunately for Presbycast but unfortunately for Dr Clark I don’t rate podcasts on bumper music because clearly Tom Petty is the winner in that regard. Regardless, Dr. Clark’s podcast is among the best out there for biblical solidarity (or adherence to the reformed confessions, same/same ;-) )!!
