Best self-help podcast hands down
This podcast stands head and shoulders above the rest in the realm of self-help. With its uncanny ability to relate to various life scenarios, it offers invaluable insights even in the most unexpected areas. The interactive nature of the podcast, coupled with Dr. Duff’s expertise, ensures a rich listening experience where questions are met with thorough and professional answers. Dr. Duffs commitment to providing content warnings and resource recommendations further enhances the podcast’s value. His thoughtful approach demonstrates a genuine concern for the listener’s well-being, creating an environment of trust and understanding. Personally, I find myself eagerly anticipating each weekly episode, and I have even begun visiting past episodes I have yet to listen to. Dr. Duff’s fearless approach to discussing taboo topics is refreshing and commendable. Thank-you, Dr. Duff, for delivering authentic content and tackling subjects that many shy away from.

Favorite mental health podcast
This is my go-to podcast for anything mental health related. Duff covers the topics in an informative but engaging style. I’ve learned so much about myself and my own thought patterns. The podcast has also helped me understand various mental health diagnoses and behaviors, allowing me to be a better nurse and all around human being. Thanks!

The best podcast out there for mental health and relationships
This podcast is super freaking cool. I every episode is engaging, contains language that accessible to the average person, and very informative. I will probably never stop listening to it because it’s always one of those that you look forward to staying on top of- plus his voice is freakin sexy.

A WEALTH of knowledge
I have been listening to Dr. Duff for about 3-4 years now. His content is incredibly compassionate and provides a great deal of knowledge and opportunity for self reflection. I appreciate how he validates every person who writes in, and with me being solution focused and needing tangible direction, he provides incredibly eye opening and healthy tips to lead a more fulfilling life. I’m so grateful to have stumbled upon his podcast years ago, and am so proud of the work he does both on here and in his community. Thank you Dr. Duff, you are a treasure!!!

#1 Podcast on my list
Dr. Duff provides quality mental health content. His delivery is down-to-earth and non-judgmental. He looks for the positives in a listener’s situation and is kind and encouraging with guidance. Episodes are generally around 30 minutes long. I’m often left pondering things he has shared for long after. I can’t recommend this podcast highly enough.

Hardcore self help is approachable and relatable therapy advice we can all use
I’ve been a long time follower and fan of Dr. Robert Duff’s work and give this podcast my highest recommendation. The author never speaks down to the audience and is very easy to listen to and understand as the dialog is commonly relatable. I’ve certainly learned a lot about different ways of thinking and perspectives I may have otherwise overlooked. I’ve read some of the author’s published books and even shared them with friends and family that I felt could gain value from them. Pick and episode that sounds interesting and give it a go, I guarantee you’ll be hooked as well and coming back for all the great advice this podcast can offer!

Bona Fide!
I stumbled onto this podcast after looking for podcasts by licensed professionals. This one is solid, calm advice. He reads and thoughtfully answers letters he's sent. While I still have a couple other amateur "helper" podcasts I like, I do feel safer listening to this one.

Just got medicated
I recently got diagnosed with ADHD and I thought medication was going to fix all of my problems. It didn’t. But it has helped. And this podcast has helped me recognize what I need to focus on a has given me a lot of useful tips and insight into ADHD and how to work with it. Thank you. Also, I like the healthy use of curse words in here

Therapy for free???!!!
Maybe it's a coincidence, maybe it's a blessing, maybe it's just a good podcast but every time I listen I take something away that affects me personally. I'm so grateful to have such easy access to such great therapy.

Helpful and Easy Going
I enjoy how easy going Duff is about hard topics. I often listen to episodes a few times in when it is something that pertains to my life in order to gain better understanding. I appreciate that lack of lecturing.

Episode 350 was surprisingly helpful
I have loved listening to this podcast for a while. Duff the psych knows his stuff. However, I did not expect to be so impressed by episode 350, the part about daddy issues. Duff was so thorough and yet easy to listen to, I found myself seeing connections that shifted my conception of what that slang-ish term means. Thanks Duff!

Duff Tuff Love 🧸
There’s a lot of great podcasts out there but it can start to all sound the same or be overload for an already overloaded brain. Duff’s approach is like Goldilocks’ porridge- not too hot, not too cold. Just right. 🐻 Real. Feel. Deal. Heal.

Casual, Enjoyable, But Very Important Information
I love this podcast. Host is really casual (but takes mental health really seriously of course0 which makes me personally feel comfortable, but understandably it’s not for everyone. I struggle with mental health and I have for a while, and I really just enjoy listening to every episode even if it might not apply just to learn something new. He covers a lot of topics that can be quite specific yet can be applied broadly. So I think anyone/everyone can benefit from the insights shared. Really enjoyable and usually a pretty good easy listen even in the tougher topics.

Love this!
Duffs delivery is awesome and the pace he goes at is great. Answers are broken down and thoughtful. I put this on while folding laundry and my girlfriend who I’ve been suggesting go to therapy was hooked. Because of this podcast she’s back in therapy and I’m so so so thankful. No other Mental Heath podcast is as engaging.

Inappropriate & offensive vulgarity
Somebody recommended this podcast to me, so I gave it a shot. Was surprised and disappointed to hearSomeone purporting to be a serious professional keep throwing in gratuitousProfanity. Have some times noted this as a disturbing trend in other podcasts from youngerPresenters, and maybe “ Dr. Duff” Imagine that makes him sound cool or hip. But instead it just comes across as highly unprofessional,Completely unnecessary, and reflecting a poverty ofVocabulary and imagination. I won’t be listening to any more episodes.

Do not listen to this man!
I occasionally listen to this podcast, but now I’m disgusted and feel the need to call him out; if only in a review that no one may even read. Robert Duff volunteered the info. that his wife has attempted suicide in the past. In episode 296, he also shares that he and his wife are “non-monogamous” and starts blabbing about his recent break up and something about an emotional bond and trying to apologize… and that’s when it all made sense. There were episodes in the past where I thought he wasn’t giving good advice to cis women, or I felt his attitude on a sex and relationships seemed a bit off. This is why I would never see a male psychologist as a woman. No one will ever convince me that being married and in an “open relationship” is anything but Misogyny and emotional abuse by a different label. Men have been cheating on their wives and otherwise abusing women under the guise of psychology, psychiatry, science, etc. throughout history. I would not be surprised if his wife’s mental health is the result of an emotionally abusive relationship with her husband, Robert Duff. All the signs are there, straight from his own mouth. My hope is that other Women will wake up to the cruelty that even “good men” can inflict on them. I believe in science and I’m not religious, but I suspect that a lot of modern psychology still isn’t evidence based and causes harm as a result.

Amazing podcast
I have listened to almost every episode and love it. Dr. Duff is so good at explaining things and covering content in detail that isn’t boring. I love how diverse things are and I’ve been able to learn a lot from the questions people submit and the recommendations/answers he provides. He does so in a very non-biased and non-judgmental way. Also he has a calming voice that isn’t boring.

A Must Listen!
I have been listening to Dr. Duff’s podcast for about 10 months now and it’s been such an incredible tool for me in dealing with anxiety and just life’s challenges in general. Dr. Duff breaks things down into such actionable steps which has been the most helpful. I also highly recommend his journal prompts list. Journaling has been pretty game changing in my mental health journey, but there are times I’m stumped as to where to start. Those prompts have led me to some profound entries so definitely recommend them!

Best podcast of 2021
I went through therapy in early 2020 and two months ago my Dr. and I decided it was time to try using what I learned and end treatment for now. This podcast has helped support all of my learnings during my sessions, this is a great tool for reinforcing all of that. His style is very, very similar to my Dr., who changed my life, this is very comforting content to listen to. So supportive and a great extension to individual therapy treatment.

I’m a transgender woman living in Texas. Since I have a memory I always look androgynous until I transitioned and become the woman I’m. I started to listen to podcasts in 2020 because I grew up being treated wrong by those I love that knew what I’m since I was a baby. mentally and physically I been hurt by those around me over the years. I been going to therapy, church and I done everything I could to stop the negative that was build in me over the years. Thank you for putting nice words that teach me the positive ways to live and make me feel that I’m not wrong on trying to be myself even if I know that I went against nature and everything I knew growing up. Youtalktoofast. ^^ I’ve changed my mind about this previous review, and I am now fully acclimated to your delivery. I am interested in what you had to say about watching porn, Episode 241, in which you advised the emailer to evaluate the role of porn in her husband/partner’s life. Here’s an observation or two: When I was married to my Husband No. 1, I would fall asleep before he did, and during that semi-conscious interval between wakefulness and sleep, I would be aware of the bed shaking due to his masturbating. This was way before internet and social media, so his only access to porn was a nightly reading of the magazine “Penthouse”, with occasionally consuming the zine known as “Playboy”. We also would occasionally watch porn videos on VCR, and two titles come to mind: “Garage Girls”, which featured the women dressed in those iconic mechanic’s overalls. The overalls would frequently flap open to reveal the woman’s breasts or fall down to their waist or even lower, as the Girls performed their various automotive tasks. Then there was “Debbie Does Dallas” which became a cult classic, and is, to this day, well known. Neither one of these 3 activities caused me any insecurity or jealousy and/or envy, because I knew that I was No. 1 and always would be. I did not in not in any way feel “threatened” by these behaviors and I even joined in the party on some occasions by using the porn to enhance my own pleasure. (If ya can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em”.) Watching porn only becomes an issue when the relationship is on shaky ground to begin with, and it is easy to interpret the “porn factor” as proof of a suspected general lack of interest.

Great podcast
Started listening to this podcast last week and I love it. Dr. Duff’s voice is so soothing and I love his straightforward approach. Would love to get my hands on a copy of his two books, just can’t right now. This podcast is helping me a lot.

Lives up to standard
I have been listening for a while and have just gotten around to writing a review. Duff does such a great job of living up to his moto... making real content for real people that is really easy to understand. I started listening when I was a graduate student studying mental health counseling and I continue to listen to this day. The life long learner in me can’t stop soaking up information. Thank you Duff!

Engaging, soothing, and informative!
I happened upon this podcast and I am so happy I did, I listen to it every night before bed because Robert Duff’s voice and personality is so soothing and positive- and real. Thank you Dr. Duff for taking the time to share your talent for communication and your profession expertise with the world while opening your life and personality to your audience to create such a honest and relatable podcast! This is the most engaging podcast I have tried, and the only one I anticipate/listen to the second a new episode is release.

Not engaging
Too much talking and too many digressions that you don’t even know what they’re talking about anymore.

Calming, satisfying, informative and helpful
I recently started listening to podcasts. While others have peaked my interest, this one keeps me hooked. I listen while I’m working 10 hour shifts. His voice is very calming & makes it easier to listen to what can sometimes be hard to hear questions. It’s very satisfying to hear questions from people and listen to what Duff has to say, he is very knowledgeable and helpful. I’ve learned a lot about myself that I never understood before just by listening to his podcasts. He genuinely cares for these people that ask their questions plus everyone listening and it shows. Can’t wait to get your books soon and read those! Keep up the great work, I couldn’t have found a more perfect podcast to help me get through my long days of folding clothes at work for 10 hours!

Grateful
I have struggled with severe anxiety and depression for as long as I can remember and sometimes it can be quite debilitating, I have listened and read my fair share of self help books and am also about to graduate with my BA in psychology and out of everything I have learned and read Robert Duffs hardcore self help books have been the most beneficial by far. I wanted to hear more of his knowledge and found his podcasts, I’m a little late in finding it but have started at episode one and have been listening to at least 2 a day, I can’t get enough. I would recommend this podcast and his books to anyone who feels stuck and isn’t afraid of sensitive topics. I have found it to be very relatable and easier to manage than other self help tools. Hardcore self help saved my life.
