In this episode we we continue to talk about the 12 bar blues in the key of G. This time around we will add a variation which will be very useful when playing the blues.

In this episode we will continue talking about the 12 bar blues. We will keep the same formula as the episode before, but instead of the key of A, this one is in the key of G.

As we discussed in the previous podcast episode, the 12 bar blues has a very simple formula. This formula involves arranging musical degrees I, IV, and V of any key in a particular order. With that said, keep in mind that this arrangement can be to create different variations. The first example of this arrangement was the following:  For this example in episode #64, we'll be exchanging measure #2 from degree I to degree IV. This will be our first variation: First, let's take a look at the first example in the key of A: Now, let's take a look at the first variation of this 12 bar blues, still in the key of A: Remember that we're starting very simple, then building on these 12 bar blues progressions in order to create different variations. These variations exist so that blues songs differentiate from one another, as well as to keep our playing interesting.
