John Avina is a comic book writer from Chicago. He is also a husband, father and mortuary assistant. He believes in Aliens, La Llorona and swears he saw a ghost in a funeral home one time. In 2023 he published over 13 new comics, including Americana, Lockjaw & Pistolero. Cinema Muerte, Starved Rock, and many more. He's one of the most prolific young comic writers in the indie scene, and the vast majority of his work is in the horror genre.
