Processing Through Transition: 053
Nikki is a life coach and helps individuals through transition. Transition can mean as a missionary off the field, transition into a new job, new city, graduating college, ending your sports career and finding other passions. Or transitioning from being stuck in a rut and need help creating more meaning to your life. What is a life coach? A life coach is someone who helps bridge the gap from where you are to where you want to be. If you don’t know where you want to be, a coach helps you figure that out as well. We create goals, systems, and make new habits to be able to achieve what you want to in the next season of life. Listen to the episode where Nikki explains all about life coaching here https://m2bministries.org/what-is-life-coaching-2/ 5 questions to ask yourself in any transition: 1. What have I learned in the season I am leaving behind? 2. What mistakes have I made and how can I learn from them? 3. What emotions am I feeling as I leave the past? 4. What am I looking forward to in the next season? 5. What emotions am I feeling moving into this new season? Things to keep in mind: -Reflect -Give yourself necessary time to work through an emotion -Write it down! -Enjoy the season you are in and don't rush to the next one -Talk to a trusted friend, coach, or therapist Books for Transition: Atomic Habits https://kit.com/nikkiromani/personal-development-books/atomic-habits-an-ea Transitions: Making Sense of Life's Changes https://kit.com/nikkiromani/personal-development-books/transitions-making Don't forget to subscribe and write a review!

Where Are We Headed: New Things To Come
Change is occurring here at M2B Ministries. Change can be hard, but it's also necessary for growth and improvement. In this episode, Nikki shares updates and keeps you in the loop with the changes being made in this organization. Don't worry! We aren't leaving and our pursuit to help short term missionaries with re-entry remains the same. We have added 3 core values: 1. Community 2. Connection 3. Identity Some changes occurring are: 1. Name change to The Great Return (now the organization will have the same name as this podcast!) 2. The remaining team members are Nikki and Victoria 3. We are growing partnerships to come up with a roadmap to re-entry. 4. Improvements in our curriculum for the Navigator Mentorship 5. We are focusing on transition coaching, mental health, Navigator Mentorship, and trainings. A lot is happening here, but all good things. We are trusting God and following his led. Dream Interpretation with Gary McGinnis: 050
Gary and Nikki met when he and his wife were Nikki's coaches while she was on the World Race in 2014. More than 4 years later and they still remain friends with a going friendship. Gary has the gift of dream interpretation. In this episode, he shares how he learned this was a gifting of his back in 2000. He has been through the Master Certification Process (no longer offered) with Streams Ministries . Today this ministry offers many great resources such as their "Understanding Dreams and Visions" online course. Check out the website for more information. streamsministries.com Though he has been through this training, Gary shares with us that he is continuously learning about dreams. He says this is an area we will never be able to master. Questions Gary Answers: How do we know a dream is from God? How do you know if a dream is important? How does someone interpret a dream? Things to Consider: How does a dream make you feel? Vivid, bright, colorful, light dreams are from God Whether you have black and white dreams or colorful, God can use any dream Value the dream Write it down and focus on it Have intimacy with God God will tell you through the Holy Spirit what the dream means- ask him. Depend on the Holy Spirit for interpretation Quotes: "The hardest dreams to interpret are your own because you are too close to them." “What you focus on you make room for, what you fear you give power” "Holy Haunting: a thing inside of you that won't let you go from the Holy Spirit." What Does it Mean to go ALL IN?: 048
It’s scary to go all in. It’s a risk. But think of a time you when all in? What were you feeling? What was the outcome? God is not a God who is safe, He is not one to make things comfortable for us. He not one to do things within our financial budget. He pushes the limits. And you know why? In order for us to rely on him. We all need to be dreamers. God created us as such. God gives us dreams, but he doesnt give us dreams that match our bank account. God doesn't give us dreams that make people around us comfortable. God doesn't give us dreams that make us comfortable God doesn't give us dreams to make us feel safe. If he did than he wouldn’t be the PROVIDER, PROTECTOR, COMFORTER. ACTION STEPS: Spend 30 minutes to 1 hour (longer if you can) writing down your dreams Try to come up with at least 10 Share these dreams with someone you trust Make a dream board or write them on post-it notes and plaster them all over your room or somewhere you will see them everyday JUMP ALL IN. Don't just dream, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. If we become people who dream and take actions on those dreams, imagine what the world would be like. Grab a friend and jump in together. Collaborate. Find someone who is running at the same speed as you. If you missed the episode with Morgan Funke, Nikki and her talk about this. m2bministries.org/morganfunke Don't forget to subscribe!

Learning from Burnout with Morgan Funke: 045
Morgan Funke is CEO of the nonprofit The Cause. Nikki has the opportunity to interview Morgan as she talks about what it's like to experience burnout and learn from it. They discuss the importance of wise counsel, being teachable and ask for help, allowing your teammates to step into their giftings and being able to work together. Look to those who are running with you and run together, become friends with them, collaborate. The kingdom of God is not about competition, its about working together. There is no competition in the kingdom of God. They also talk about your identity. There are so many nuggets of wisdom in this episode you will want to listen all the way through especially because Morgan gives her biggest piece of advice at the end. Quotes from Morgan: “Through burnout I realized I had put my identity in what I did, not who God said I am. I wanted to get to a place where if my nonprofit ended tomorrow, I wanted to know would I still be ok?” “Seek wise counsel. Be teachable and ask for help." “One of the reasons why I think we experienced burnout was we didn’t know how to look for collaboration. I had this underlying belief I was competing. But what I found to be true is there is no competition in the kingdom of God. "How are we called to bring the kingdom of God to earth?" "Am I being obedient to what God has called me to do in this time?" "When we make our purpose different than being obedient to God we lose it." SO MUCH WISDOM in this episode.
