The Gospel Bluth
Lily Mastrodimos, a musician in a band she named after a Don Bluth movie (https://longnecklass.bandcamp.com/) , has decided to drag her friends, family members, and heroes kicking and shouting into her passion--talking about America's greatest animator, Don Bluth. Join this self-proclaimed "enBluthiast" as she and her special guests discuss the cultural impacts of his films, how they compare to Disney (they are better!), and his distinct animation style. They'll explore his filmmaking techniques, history of union troubles (uh oh!), and why his movies consistently feature handsome anthropomorphic animals. Things tend to go awry very quickly, and that's a guarantee!
11: "Titan A.E." (with Dan Chamberlain & Ray Chalmé)
It's finally here....the last Don Bluth movie. I forced my friends Ray Chalmé and Dan Chamberlain to watch 2000's "Titan A.E.", the nonsensical sci-fi adventure and Donny Boy's last animated movie. We talk about the important stuff, like: why is Cale so awful? Is the Titan really filled with bottles of c*m? What IS the Titan? Did you know there's a LOT of NSFW art of Stith? Why are we so ANGRY? Get ready for an utterly bewildering time as we bid Don and his little creations adieu. I...am...FREE!

10: "Bartok the Magnificent" (with Laura Marciniak)
Hoo boy. I watched Bluth's 1999 direct-to-VHS movie, "Bartok the Magnifient" and it was a trip. Thankfully, I'm joined by my friend Laura Marciniak to help figure out what exactly is going on here. Did Zazi bone a skull? What the FUCK is Pilaf? How old is Bartok, exactly? And, most importantly, WHAT the FUCK is Pilaf?????? Tune in to find out!

9: "Anastasia" (with Stevie Knipe)
WOWEE we are BACK and still just as cursed as before! This week, we're talking about Don Bluth's 1997 comeback film, "Anastasia", with legit rockstar Stevie Knipe! We ask the big questions, things like "Is Rasputin a girlboss?" and "This is anti-communist propaganda, right?" Listen as we break down Dmitri's past lives in Bluth movies, chat about the behind-the-scenes drama of casting Bartok, and discuss the true history of Rasputin's influence on the Imperial Family (and his mythically large d0ng that is on display in a museum). It's a wacky time for everyone to enjoy! CW: This episode is NSFW and contains discussions about the colorcoding and anti-Semitism present in "Anastasia".

8: "A Troll In Central Park" (with Rob Taylor)
It's time to dig in to what is WIDELY regarded as the worst movie Don Bluth ever made--"A Troll In Central Park". Strap in as my special guest Rob Taylor (Los Campesinos!, RN Taylor) and I attempt to make sense of this absolute trainwreck of a movie. We cover everything from the "real" New York, creepy old men, what it's really like to be Greek or British, and why trolls have newspapers. This movie is bad and deeply problematic! And was made for kids! This truly broke us! Oh no!

7: "The Pebble & The Penguin" (with Joe Rumrill)
OOF. This was a tough movie to watch, but thankfully I've got my special guest Joe Rumrill (Chris Gethard Presents, Cartoon Monsoon) to help me dig through this "utterly forgettable" film. This is maybe the angriest you will hear either of us. Listen in to learn who this film was marketed towards (it's not who you expect), the flat and often questionable voice acting, "The Worst Journey in The World", and the music (could not hum a song for you if we tried). It's a good episode.

6: "Thumbelina" (with Sam Stoakes & Heather Jones)
It's been a hot minute, but now it's time to dig in to a movie that shaped my early childhood--that's right, it's time to talk about "Thumbelina". Joined by my very special guests Sam Stoakes (Susie Derkins) and Heather Jones (ther), we discuss everything from big sons, teens, and Gilbert Gottfried. Why does Thumbelina give up so easily? Is Jacquimo useless? WHY does this movie feature a whole theme on human trafficking? As per usual, NOTHING IS RESOLVED.

5: "Rock-A-Doodle" (with Alex Mercuri)
Unfortunate soul and dear friend Alex Mercuri joins me to talk about a movie. See if you can tell how I feel about the movie. Featuring: A Brother Check-In, hot chickens, a boy (a boy!), live action climate extinction event, and a mysterious dark substance. There's a lot going on. Enjoy!

Host of Radio Camp Half Blood (https://radiocamphalfblood.libsyn.com/) Bryce Kelly joins me to discuss the 1989....movie?...."All Dogs Go To Heaven". Whatever it is, this thing had TEN writers. Listen, we don't know what happened here, but I promise you'll have a nice time. CW: discussion of racism

3: "The Land Before Time" (with John Ambrosio)
LISTEN UP FUCKOS! It's time to talk about Lily's favorite movie! Joined by best pal/Long Neck bandmate/enemy John Ambrosio, the two dopes discuss cute dinosaur babies, pre-meditated murder, and the unfortunate nature of these dinosaur nicknames. Why does God feature so heavily in this episode? Did Lily name the band after a slur for dinosaurs? What are the 13 (thirteen!!!) sequels about? It's time to face the facts!

2: "An American Tail" (with Ruby Mastrodimos)
Writer, filmmaker, and blood relative Ruby Mastrodimos joins me to discuss the 1986 classic, "An American Tail." We talk about everything from late 19th century history, terrible French pigeons, and Bluth's union troubles. You'll hear hot takes, fatigue-induced delirium rants, the phrase "dumptruck ass", and..."B'rock O'bama". Will we make it to the end of the episode without destroying each other? You'll have to see!
