Pastor Mike Weaver explores Jesus’ powerful rebuke of the Pharisees, highlighting the dangers of hypocrisy and legalism in religious life. Jesus’ six woes in Luke 11 expose the Pharisees’ obsession with ritual and reputation, while neglecting justice, mercy, and love. Their focus on minor traditions, desire for honour, and teaching of burdensome laws kept people from true knowledge and relationship with God.
We're offered the chance to reflect on our own authenticity, accountability, and priorities in Christian faith. Pastor Mike calls for grace-filled leadership, honest theology, and a commitment to both ‘talking the talk and walking the walk’ as we embrace accountability and live out an authentic faith that points others to Jesus Christ.
