7 Steps to Spring Clean Your Beauty Routine
Who doesn’t love a good clear out? Getting rid of things we no longer need, feeling brighter and lighter and just a bit more organised, saving time and money in the process - what’s not to like! What can seem like a chore can actually be a lot of fun, and I promise the end result will be worth it.
I’ve just done done a big old clearout myself and thought I’d share with you the steps that made it easier and quicker overall to organise and declutter my own beauty and makeup collection. All it takes a is a little bit of planning. And you can use these easy steps to plan any kind of spring clean or clearout, anywhere in the home.
A few key things to remember:
It always gets worse before it gets better.
Be prepared to be ruthless. A good principle is to take out anything you haven’t used in the last 3 - 6 months, chances are that isn’t going to change in the next six.
Out of sight, out of mind. Anything you can’t see has the potential to still be there again in 6 months time
Thank you for listening, I hope you feel inspired to do some decluttering and spring cleaning of your own.

Guest interview with Billie Quinlan, CEO and Co-Founder of sexual well-being startup, The Ferly App - an audio guide to mindful sex. Also recently named Apple’s App of the week in the App store.
Billie and her co-founder Anna Huslak want to radically transform the relationship you have with sex. They are on a mission to close the Pleasure Gap by improving health, confidence, and pleasure of women globally. In the process they have have been able to build an incredible community, over 30,000 women strong (and growing), called the Pleasure Pioneers.
The Ferly App represents a safe space for women to explore their ever-evolving sexuality and in doing so improve their overall physical and mental well-being.
In this episode Billie shares with us exactly what the Pleasure Gap really is and how they are working to close it; powerful messages around sexual self-care and how you can broaden and explore your ideas on your own sexuality and your relationship with sex.
We also discuss the narratives in our own lives that are consciously and subconsciously driving our own sexuality, desires and experiences.
Both Anna and Billie have experienced sexual assault and their own personal stories are very much a driving force behind breaking the taboos in talking about sex, reclaiming pleasure and having a confident, healthy and happy sex life - whatever your relationship status or sexual orientation.

Hi there, and welcome to today’s episode of the Glow Show - we are going to talk about 7 ways to deal with, and hopefully minimise stay-home stress, take care of ourselves and look after own mental health while we support our families and the people around us, even if it’s from a distance.
When I thought about this topic originally it was actually going to be about the effects of stress on our skin specifically - and then ways to minimise stress and in the process also help our skin.
What I didn’t know at the time of planning this topic, of course, was that we would soon find ourselves in the midst of a global pandemic with the whole world fight against this invisible enemy, the corona virus.
As I’m recording this we’re entering the 3rd week of lockdown here in the UK, and I’ve had plenty of time to reflect, and actually observe myself to see what really works and what doesn’t when it comes to dealing with my own mental & physical health - especially in a time of crisis.
In this episode, we discuss…
[3:23] Life During COVID-19
[12:46] Proactively and Intentionally Take Care of Yourself
[16:43] The Importance of Exercise
[20:55] Meditation
[22:47] Breathe
[24:08] Boundaries for your mind, heart and head space
[28:28] Feeling the Way You Feel
[36:07] Reach Out
[38:39] Closing Thoughts

In the episode I share my thoughts on a powerful tool that has made a real difference to my own relationships and marriage. It’s practical, it's simple - and you can easily start to implement it today.
The 5 Love Languages is a well known relationship tool that has helped singles and couples all over the world transform their relationships. It’s really applicable to any one of us, so it doesn’t matter whether you’re single, dating, in a relationship or marriage. This can work for you too.
Every single one of us, whether we’re single, dating or in a relationship or marriage - have a deep rooted emotional need to FEEL loved, to be heard and seen and understood - and that we belong - and we need to feel and experience these things in a way makes sense to us.
And then there is also the other side to this - while we all experience love in a certain way, we also have our own way of expressing it. How we show the people in our lives that we love them, that we hear and see them, understand them and that they belong.
In a nutshell we all have different ways of experiencing and expressing love.
BUT - if there is a mismatch between how we experience love and the way that our partner expresses their love for us this can create a real disconnect in our relationship, sometimes with devastating consequences.
This is exactly where the 5 Love Languages Tool comes in. And I share with you 5 specific ways that knowing your own, and your partner's Love Languages can benefit and transform your relationships, as well as practical examples of how you can implement them for yourself.

Hi there and Welcome!
Welcome to the new Glow Show - Your Go To For Grown Up Love and Glowing Skin - dedicated to help you transform your relationships and bringing you the most current and trusted beauty advice for glowing skin, inside and out.
If you're a return listener you'll notice that things are looking a bit different - and I'm very excited to be sharing this new development with you. This episode is all about how and why I've decided to re-launch the previous podcast and what you can expect going forward.
In the previous version of the show (The Ready for Love Podcast), we talked about love, dating, sex and relationships - and this is still one of my biggest passions and absolute favourite things to talk about.
Alongside this I’ve also always had a bit of a private obsession with skincare (I’ll never forget my 13th birthday when my grandmother bought me my first set of skincare products to cleanse, tone and moisturise) - that sparked a lifelong love for trying new products and all things skin and beauty related.
In 2018 I launched my own skincare brand called 'Ané Skincare and Beauty' and I felt it made sense to bring these two loves of mine together - and talk about it in one place.
In a nutshell we’re STILL going to talk about how you can have the best relationships, and the best sex of your life, how you can heal the relationship with yourself if that is something you feel you struggle with sometimes - and we’re ALSO going to talk about skincare, beauty, products recommendations, routines, self care, wellness from the inside out. PLUS updates and developments in the skincare industry.
As always it will be a mix between episodes by me - and then also interviews with my amazing line up of handpicked guests across the relationship, skincare, beauty and wellness industries.
Stay tuned and come and join me!
Thank you for listening.

If you’d just come out of a long-term relationship and hadn’t been intimate since the dinosaurs walked the earth, how well would you cope with dating and having sex again?
My special guest, Olivia Spring, who spent two years writing the novel during evenings and weekends whilst juggling her full-time job in PR, explains the inspiration behind the story:
‘I was inspired to write this novel after becoming newly single in my late thirties. It wasn’t just getting to grips with the whole dating scene, which had changed dramatically, that I found challenging, but also seeing how women of “a certain age” are often judged by society.
‘The Middle-Aged Virgin' is for any woman who has become newly single after a long relationship or divorce, women who have experienced the highs and lows of dating and dating apps, who haven’t had sex for a while, who’ve ever been asked:
- why don’t you have kids?
- when are you going to find a man? or
- when are you going to get married?
For anyone who would like to lose themselves in a fun, light-hearted rom-com featuring a smart protagonist and escape from real life for a few hours. I thoroughly enjoyed creating this story and hope everyone enjoys reading about Sophia’s journey as much as I loved writing it.’
On today’s episode, Olivia shares her own experiences and 3 important tips on how we can find new strength after a long term relationship breaking down, how to get 'out there' dating again, rediscover who we really and create a new path for the next chapter in our lives, single or not.
Olivia's book is such a fun read, and super relatable! Go check it out x

Have you ever felt stuck in a cycle of toxic, destructive relationships that don’t work out, but just can’t figure out why it keeps happening? Are you terrified of being alone and find yourself compromising your boundaries and standards just to keep your partner happy? Maybe you’re terrified of rejection and accept the unacceptable in your relationship, always minimising your own needs and desires?
Why do we do this? Why do we settle for relationships that are so destructive, even when we know it’s going to hurt us and cause us pain? And why is it that we then keep repeating these relationship dynamics, just with different people?
Could it be that ‘relationship addiction’ is playing a role in your life?
If any of this resonates with you then do tune into this episode with my special guest, Sherry Gaba. Sherry is a licensed psychotherapist and life coach who helps people cope with, and overcome lifelong addictions including substance abuse, shopping, gambling, food, sex and love, co-dependency, trauma, depression, anxiety, single parenting, and divorce.
Sherry’s most recent book (which I highly recommend), The Marriage and Relationship Junkie: Kicking Your Obsession, is a best seller in both substance abuse and codependency. It focuses on how to break the cycle of marriage and relationship addiction and live and thrive on your own, or with a partner. It also explores on how to go through the grieving process for a relationship without falling apart, how to define healthy boundaries, how to recognise the right partner for you and steer clear of potentially toxic relationships.
Sherry shares her own deeply personal experiences of relationship addiction and how she’s overcome this very painful journey. She also shares with us the root causes of potential relationship addiction, how to identify whether this relates to you - and steps you can take to overcome this in your own life.

She is also the author of The Love Gap: A Radical Plan to Win in Life and Love, a guide for modern women navigating the new romantic landscape.
