Origin Story
In our first episode, we begin at the beginning. Colin Somers and Evie McGee were involved with Charleston Stage from its beginning as The Young Charleston Theatre Company in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Both of them have stayed close to theatre their whole lives, but have branched out into other creative industries since then. Colin is now a Commercial Producer for advertising and marketing in Chicago. Evie is a film producer and the founder of a film festival in her current home of Montclair, NJ. She also runs a production company with her husband, Stephen Colbert.  In this episode we talk about the early days of the company, the importance of Theatre and The Arts in our communities, and theatre-based parenting strategies.
