Together we want to be mining the rich gold-seam of thoughts wise Christian authors have penned, in order that we might know God better.
We’re appreciating the opportunity to use the time afforded by lock down to dig into Don Carson’s book on prayer: A Call to Spiritual Reformation. In it, Carson argues that underlying the personal and corporate needs of Christians is a need to know God more intimately - and what better way of delighting in meeting the living God than in prayer? If we are to learn to pray, Carson says we should look to the pattern of prayer found in scripture. We’re going to be discussing the nuggets Carson pulls out from the Apostle Paul’s priorities for prayer: How do they shape what we pray, how we pray, and who we pray for?
Loving heavenly Father, thanks so much that you invite us to continue the conversation you started - we want to know you more. Amen
