It was all because of love; God’s love for the world.In John 12:32, after raising Lazarus from the dead, and knowing that the Jews were after him; to destroy him, Jesus made that statement again:He said: And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.In order for us to fully understand the significance of those statements, we need to go back into the genesis of time when God made Adam and Eve.Genesis 15 The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. 16 And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”I want you to notice that God gave the instructions to Adam because Eve never existed at the time.18 The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”That’s when the trouble began.25 Adam and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame.
