The Gary and Mark Show
The Gary and Mark Show
Gary Eblen and Mark Levin
A lot of funny stuff happens during a 50 year friendship.
Tim Arnett chats with Mark about Hurricane Helene and how he and the town faced the challenges from this massive storm.
This is the video version of the interview Mark held with Tim Arnett, owner of Spring Creek Tavern in Hot Springs, NC.On September 26, 2024...the rain had moved in. The water was rising. But by the time Tim left his business, he was thinking that perhaps it was not going to be as bad as they were predicting.Unfortunately, that was not the case and the town and many of the towns in the North Carolina mountains were swallowed by the flood waters. This interview talks about that night, the next day, and what the next 18 months have been like. Please consider a donation to help rebuild Hot Springs. Visit:https://rebuildhotsprings.org/

Episode 59 - Talking Fall Sorghum Syrup....and Gary’s Recounting of his 379-Mile Canoe Trip in 1974
There's always lots going on when Gary and Mark get together. We got to sample some homegrown syrup produced by Dan Cameron made from sorghum. It's a perfect way to celebrate fall. Gary whippeed up some of his homemade buttermilk biscuits and that got him talking. The main part of this episode is the retelling of just some of the adventures Gary and Steve Blizzard had in 1974 when they paddled 379 miles down the Ohio River and up the Kentucky River to Harrodsburg. They were helping the City of Harrodsburg celebrate the 200th anniversary of the founding of the town (Fort Harrod) by Col James Harrord in 1774. As always, it's a great story.   You can watch the video version of this podcast on our YouTube channel at: https://youtu.be/MxhLcgeCPVs   Read more about our show and Gary & Mark at: www.GaryAndMark.com.

John Delaloye, CEO of Diamond Brand Gear, joins us for Episode 58
We were thrilled to be able to sit down with John Delaloye, CEO of Diamond Brand Gear, to hear about his company and the way they're turning heads. One of the things they're doing is taking old tents and other products they've made over the years and repurposing them into new, very unique pieces of gear. Folks get a product that is sure to turn heads...and we all get to keep the old material from ending up in a landfill.   You can see the Youtube version of this podcast with this link. Check out their website at: www.DiamondBrandGear.com   And why not become a sponsor of The Gary and Mark Show? For just about any amount, we'll mention you and/or your business by name on the next several episodes. www.GaryAndMark.com   And don't forget that the fall semester starts soon at the Gary and Mark Podcasting University.
