Originally published for the 4th of July weekend, I dropped the long awaited review of "Eastside Drama" by the legendary and infamous Brownside. I would like to dwell deeper into this album because there is sooooo damn munch to say about this project that both DJs Tony G and Julio G had a major hand in developing for the streets. This is a staple in every Chicano's library and now you get to hear the G-Funk Junkies take on it.

What’s really the “Best of The Knightowl”? (G-Funk Junkies Tribute)
Last year we did a tribute video when San Diego's own Knightowl passed away so suddenly. In that video, Sixx mentioned an interesting fact, Owl has multiple "Best of / Greatest Hits" compilations. Well, my boy Sixx returns to join me for a 1st Anniversary tribute to the legendary Knightowl where we discuss what songs we would add if WE could make our own "Best Of" or "Greatest Hits" compilation. Join us as we share our favorite tracks. Let us know what yours are and which you'd choose for your own compilation.

Is Chicano Rap Dead? Who's the King? What Hurt the Movement?
Today I want to share some thoughts with you all. For the last few weeks there's been a little buzz and controversy floating around on social media regarding the status of Chicano rap.  Conejo (the rapper) reached out to share his video about his homie Prime's comments about the current status of Chicano Rap prompting me to make this analysis. Here I address several points made in that video, the comments Prime made, and the publicity stunt by King Lil G tying it all together plus my own social commentary about it all!! You won't wanna miss it!!!

Story of "Diego Town" by Aztec Tribe (Words from the Wyze #3)
It took about 30 years to hear the story of how "Diego Town" by San Diego's very own Aztec Tribe to be told. Allow us to share this retrospective look at what this song means to the culture, San Diego and to Chicanos in general.  Three decades ago Aztec Tribe dropped a bomb on wax and it gave the emerging San Diego rap scene a voice it only amplified with the passage of time. Kick and let us know what your thoughts are on this 1991 classic from the 619. Be sure to follow us on YouTube and Instagram if you haven't done so already! These excerpts and soundbites mostly came from The Boom Bap Meets The G Shit and recorded/uploaded on YouTube by The Madman himself.
