These Guys Rock!!
The Future Boys podcast is a hidden gem in the gaming podcast community. It's still relatively new, and is hosted by the hilarious Adam Ballard. Each member of the crew presents a great discussion on not just gaming news, but cultural discussions, family life, and real-world talk. It's not a media outlet newsfeed like IGN, so bias opinions are allowed, and it's enjoyable to listen to.
The group spends the first half of the show discussing any current gaming events, what they're currently playing, and swap opinions. The Future Boys also don't stick to one console, or gaming company. There is plenty of Nintendo talk, Playstation, Xbox, PC gaming, and even a splash of VR. The Future Boys represent what an ideal gaming community is: guys having fun, living life, and sharing their multiple passions.
In the latter half of the show, they finish up any news or games they're into, and then discuss their lives. The show is regionally diverse, spanning from the constantly flooding American state of Louisiana, Australia--where everything is trying to kill it's residents, and the supposed perfect society of Korea, where shutter sounds are required and the Internet is insanely ahead of everyone else (they put the future in future boy).
In all seriousness, the Future Boys constantly joke and express their differences as gamers from different parts of the world. They've been friends for several years via the Internet, and are enjoyable to listen to. The conversations they have are genuine, and relatable. Because they aren't paid to do the podcast, it's purely for them, they will be open enough to share what struggles they have in the week. The only drawback is that the conversations are so fun, that listeners will want to join in the conversation and be heard. (but can't...because this is a podcast).
The Future Boys can be found on Facebook as an easy-access group, where their newsfeed is constantly updating. Even if not every listener agrees with their opinions, it's great how honest the group is about the games they play, and the lives they live. Keep it up.
